I am really happy with my cactus tattoo by Sandra Burbul. When I first came in with a picture of a cactus, Sandra asked what type of cactus was in the picture so that she could look up more pictures of the flying saucer cactus for reference. Sandra created a design that I really love, a little cactus with a lot of personality. Not only am I very happy with the finished product, I also had an overall pleasant experience. Sandra moved around her schedule to make time for me, and she was very efficient and purposeful with her work. Since this is my first tattoo, she made sure to give me a guide with specific instructions for tattoo aftercare. I was amazed with how fast Sandra completed the tattoo - just an hour and a half for a five-inch colored tattoo with lots of detail. i just got this piece done by ari and i am so happy with the results. i was only charged $120 and i think thats pretty affordable compared to other tattoo parlors in the area. you cant beat their location and the quality of work. while i was there i saw how many amazing original pieces they had hung up on the walls and i will definitely be going back to ari soon to get one. very clean and overall friendly vibe. i strongly recommend this place!! Went in for a couple of piercings using a Groupon (make sure to call ahead and make sure the right person is there). I had a WONDERFUL experience. I felt comfortable the entire time, I had a vague idea of what I wanted and the piercer guided me through the entire process. Once I'm all healed I will def go back there and HIGHLY recommend them. Kaleidoscope is the best piercing joint I've ever visited, and by a rather large margin, which says something. I've had approximately a dozen piercings in my lifetime, by about 10 different establishments. It's located near Davis Square on Mass Ave.Here's why it's the best: My piercer, Shawn McCarron, is impeccable in his technique. He used an array of tools and knowledge to ensure he avoided any pain centers that might "spiderweb" out (which is especially appreciated for the helix he pierced, but also for the upper lobes as well). There was literally no bleeding, which is something I would have thought highly improbable. I also appreciated his consultation on which types of jewelry would be most appropriate for my particular wants; in addition to his continuous dialogue of which tools he was using, and why, during each procedure.Also, the results were awesome! Sandra is AWESOME. I got a watercolor style of my dog and she made it look just like him and everything! I was so afraid for so long to try and match my boy's face in case it turned out wrong but you can totally tell it's his adorable goofy smile. Sandra was excellent and honest throughout about the process and understanding when I had to postpone my appointment for financial reasons. She's a great person to talk to for 3 hours too! My friend and I got our noses pierced here. Pros: it was cheap and decently quick. Plus it was next to a sushi place which was really nice afterwards. Cons: the piercer was kinda awkward. He also put in a ring with a post that was way too short for my nostril, so it pinched me for about 3 days before it started sinking into my skin and I had to get it replaced! He also told us that we can use normal facial cleanser on it for aftercare, which I’ve since been told is NOT okay. He’d probably be fine for an ear piercing but this was not worth it. Read Less

I have gotten three of my tattoos here over the years and every experience is great. The staff are not pompous and are very collaborative with ideas. Tattoo shops can sometimes be intimidating, however the staff make you feel very welcome.The rooms are small cubbies but it feels very open and safe. All the times I have gotten work done here, they have been on walk ins and I never waited more than 10 minutes. Everything is done professionally and the prices are generally affordable. I'm really afraid of needles but always wanted to get my nose pierced. After reading the positive reviews, I decided to see how the place looked. I was so nervous that nearly walked away, but Sean, made all the difference. He was very very patient and made me feel comfortable, giving me conversation. I am beyond disappointed with this tattoo parlor.All I wanted was a tattoo in memory of my grandmother who died of cancer. Nothing extravagant at all - just an angel hugging a cancer ribbon. That's all, nothing too complicated whatsoever. The lines are nowhere near straight, even or crisp - my angel's head is half faded to nothing, and I am so badly scarred, when another tattoo artist from a different tattoo parlor looked at it, she was shocked and horrified. She also told me I was 100% over charged for what I got. This is extremely upsetting to me. I will not be returning to Kaleidoscope! Read Less

Eric Brunelle is, hands down, the coolest, most down to earth artist I have ever had the pleasure of being tattooed by. The man is a wizard when it comes to being on the same page whether it be in regards to aesthetics, contour, color choices etc. Its like he takes what you have been envisioning in your mind and feeds it Miracle-Gro on the fly. Eric, thank you infinitely for the work you've done and what a pleasure you are to interact with. You are definitely the only artist ...anywhere at this point and for the foreseeable future that I will let touch my body with a tattoo machine. As for the rest of the shop, the environment is very relaxed and no-pressure whatsoever. It is sometimes intimidating or easy to feel uncomfortable being in a new shop/ a shop in general and these guys definitely work hard to make you feel welcome and valued. I could go on and on, but to keep it 'short and sweet', this is the greatest shop I have found so far between Boston and New Orleans, and Eric is a tattoo wizard with a true passion for the art, which is becoming harder and harder to find. Came here for a quick, simple earlobe piercing. We ran in without an appointment 30 minutes before they closed, so they were very nice about accommodating us. Pretty small area, with smaller rooms for privacy. There was only one person staffing when we dropped by - they were courteous, very clean, and very nice.
