Wrote this review in August but it appears it got deleted somehow?! Good thing I still have it in my notes. Side note. It's now been 3 months since I got my belly button repierced by another piercer and it is healing perfectly! After three months my piercing from wanderlust had nearly rejected itself completely out of my body. But anyways read my original review which I assume was reported by someone who works there. Here you go:I just want to make it clear that I am not usually the type to write a yelp review. I've written one other one in my entire life. But this place really concerns me as it is clearly a cheap and sketchy place meant to attract broke college kids (like myself!!) however, being quite anal about piercings and stuff like that I did my research on this place (so I thought), talked to the staff and checked the place out and it seemed great. I got my naval done there which was one of the stupidest things I've done in college. It rejected, and I was left feeling as though it was somehow my fault even though I did everything I was told. After 6 mons or so after I took it out, I went to get it done again at a different place. Come to find out the piercer at wanderlust did an absolute hack job on my stomach. (Like I said I just thought it wasMy fault it rejected) the dude didn't even pierce it straight, and the piercing was way too shallow (the piercing they did FELL out of my body) leaving a god awful scar that I'll always have. Not to mention the jewelry they pierce navals with is WAY too big to pierce with, the complete wrong shape ( it should be more flat and much smaller), and the material is way too heavy for a new piercing---do titanium instead of surgical steal--- (found this out the hard way.) even their aftercare instructions were completely wrong. PLEASE DONT GO HERE. I'm living with the awful scar. This place takes advantage of college kids that's how they're in business. instead go to luckys in Northampton or squids ink if you are ever in the south shore area. I could  not be more pleased with my experience at Wanderlust! I scheduled an appointment for a navel piercing, and John was so pleasant to work with. He explained the process, set up everything in an organized fashion, and executed the piercing so well -- I was so relaxed I didn't even realize he had pierced me! Super professional shop. Steve Lambert is THE MOST professional tattooer i have encountered in this industry. I saw a review earlier calling him racist, but this is further from the truth than I could ever say. He is gentle and kind and really does go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure his clients are happy. I have sat in his chair for hours in my most vulnerable moments and he had been nothing but professional and respectful to me. I highly recommend this person and shop to do any work for you! I got my palm tattooed here by Stephen Lambert. It was a cover up of a bad stick and poke, which he kept laughing at me for. He drew a sketch of what he was going to do but didn't explain that he was also going to fill it in (not what I wanted). I didn't want something that major or something that would take that long. Also he kept making racist jokes to my friend (who was there with me) and me, even though my friend and I are both People of Color! He also kept teasing me about how much pain I was in. Palm tattoos HURT and I was sitting there for an hour and a half. You can't tease your customer about them being in pain! Then when he was wrapping my hand he said, "I shouldn't even do this, you're just gonna rip it off the second you leave." Uh, what! You can't assume I don't take care of my tattoos! And if you do assume that, don't insult me by telling me about your assumptions. The whole place seemed really dirty and gross too. Then he charged me extra (which he didn't tell me he was going to do). It looks, _okay_ now, but not great, not even good. A lot of the dot work is smudged. I tipped him a little but I regret tipping him at all. That racist doesn't deserve my money. Worst tattoo experience ever. I wish I could go back and punch that ******. My sister and I got matching heart tattoos. The artist was not very pleasant. Not sure why because we are pretty polite and nice. He charged us $70 each for a tiny heart that at most took 5 minutes for him to do. A bunch of the ink has pulled out of the tattoo for both of us even though we were very diligent with after care. Steve improved and corrected a very plain outline tattoo that I was not satisfied with and had for years. He gave it character and color while applying creatively and tastefully exactly what I wanted.I finally love my tattoo!!Thank you, Steve!! Read Less

I've been going to this place for years, even before it was Amherst Tattoo Co. I've never left there disappointed and have always felt at home with the staff and in the shop itself. Mike Williams is a phenomenal artist and is one of the few artists I've worked with where it's truly obvious he is personally invested in your tattoo and your experience as a whole.
