Alex was awesome. Originally booking with her was reassuring, because other places I had called were very impatient and didn't really go over the price or process. She spent a good 10 minutes going over the process over the phone, and emailed me back right away. When the day of the tattoo came, I was nervous, but she managed to put the time into my tattoo and re did the drawing twice to make sure it was a  perfect fit. It hurt, but I love it!!! Got my ears pierced a while ago by Steve and he did a great job. He was very particular about making sure they were even. Process went smoothly and he walked me through everything. Recently I've been getting a big cover up done by him and he really put a lot of time and effort working with me to get all the details right for the video game character I'm getting tattooed. Steve is a master at his craft!! I've had six pieces done by him so far over the last few years, and wish I'd met him years earlier, as I would have had him do all other inkwork! He's super talented, the waiting room showcases some killer designs, and he's very accommodating to help you design the perfect piece. The shop is cozy + warm, has lots of charm and great music. I've been to Kings Ink a few time with my girlfriend who was getting tattooed from Alex. The first time i walked in i observed pictures of previous work they had done as well as small things around the shop like the pack of kings candy (which brought back childhood nostalgia). The environment and artists are very welcoming and offer great suggestions on pieces you may be interested in getting. The shop is kept very clean, sanitary and organized. My girlfriends tattoo came out... awesome so i contacted Alex with a piece i was interested in getting in memory of my grandfather who had passed. I suck at drawing but showed them what i wanted as well as pictures of the rifle i crudely drew. The next day they had already created a stencil of exactly what i wanted and i had set up an appointment with her. I am very pleased with my tattoo, its exactly what i wanted and i was very impressed/ pleased with the detail she was able to get in the wood grain of the rifle. Guy knows what he is doing, but I do not feel welcome entering into the shop. My piercing got infected quickly and the cleaner he gave me did not help. I had to go find a different cleaner to fix the problem. Price is good though. Read Less

Steve is amazing!!! I have wanted to get a tattoo in memory of my father for 10 years. I met Steve and he helped me put all my ideas together to create the perfect tattoo. He was even able to get my father's hand writing in it, which allows me to represent him in every way. I came to him with a cross my father gave me, his favorite flower, and handwriting. Very clean and very professional. Owner shows to you and explains to you exactly what he is doing before he does it. Everything is sterile too. However, incredibly overpriced and the receptionist I spoke with was super rude. I brought in a photo for a tattoo and was looking for a bit of guidance from an artist and he treated me as if I were stupid because I didn't know EXACTLY what I wanted. Do not go here for a piercing or body jewelry. I walked in looking to switch out some jewelry, and they didn't have what I was looking for, which was fine, but the girl there told me to try hot topic or spencers. Reg flag. Anyone who knows anything about safe piercing knows the jewelry you buy in the mall is BAD and not safe for any body piercings. I then glanced in the case and saw the style of displays you see in a head shop or cheap gift shop. So I repeat, do not go here for a piercing or body jewelry. I have found my new artist in Steve King at King's Ink!!After experiencing a bad skin reaction to a small ankle piece with another shop, a close friend who knew I wanted more pieces recommended me to King's Ink. Although I have several pieces around my body, and are familiar with the process,  each new artist and his/her environment really does set the tone for your overall experience getting inked. My first visit with this new salon had me at ease immediately and looking happily forward to my time in the chair! From onset, Steve's parlor is warm, inviting and comfortably sized. Good music at a low volume, Bruins game on the tv! He is very thorough in explaining the setup of both your chosen art (stencil)  and with his workstation (tools, table, needles, ink, etc). He explains in great detail what he's going to do, and how he goes about taking the stencil to skin.  He's also very detailed in explaining aftercare and will sell you the only stuff you need (Eucerin) to ensure your new ink heals safely and stays gorgeous. Last month on my first visit,  I'd gone for a leg piece and today I'd returned for two rib pieces.  On both we were done in an hour. He does not rush at all (minimal squirming by me) and he will take the time to look over several times to make your piece perfect.
