Very disappointed in "about the ink". I contacted the shop via Facebook Messenger, inquired about Ashley because her work looked  flawless, I let them know that I had a tattoo in mind & I had it printed out,  it didn't have to be exactly that way and that the artist can make any alterations that they wanted (it was an angel bent over with her face in her hands and I wanted a quote underneath).  The shop responded that it would be best for me to come in for a consultation, they then gave me their hours of operation. So I drove the hour and 15 minutes, walk in  and speak to the clerk , I explained I would like a consultation that I had contacted them via Facebook the day before, he asked me what I wanted, I tried to explain it to him.  He then went to the back and was gone for maybe two minutes, walked back out and told me that the artist was not interested and doing my tattoo. I just stood there because I had just drove an hour and 15 minutes to speak with her,  the least she could have done was come out and tell me that she didn't want to do it or at least say this is why I don't want to do it or maybe let me explain to her exactly what I want. I told the gentleman "I don't understand. what do you mean she isn't interested in my tattoo? is there a reason why" and he responded no "she just doesn't want to do it.  I suggest you go down the street to Ink junkies or find another shop." So I left.  I'm okay with her not wanting to do it, maybe it's not her thing, but I'm not okay with somebody being so rude as to not even give me one minute of their time to even listen to what it is that I wanted. This place definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and my husband was interested in getting a tattoo as well, one that they had up on the wall but they lost his business as well since they weren't even willing to speak with me. All of the artist a good people and professional. They are not afraid to tell you no and have standards. Word to the wise....Don't go there if you expect them to figure out your tattoo for you. Go there with your idea. They will work with your idea. If it is not what you want, TALK to them! There has already been times I have not agreed or them with what I thought... Went to "About the Ink" on the recommendation of a friend.  The staff are very friendly and eager to answer any of my questions.  Ashley took a design I sent her and made some adjustments and recommendations, it looked awesome.  She explained every step in the process and was a delight to talk to.  She is very humble and takes pride in her art.  Looking forward to my next tattoo.  They maybe 80 minutes travel for me but it is worth the trip. As soon we walk in we where welcome. Ashley did my husband and I tattoo. She has a great hand and they are so nice and down to earth. The place is clean and they are family friendly. By the way Jason does piercing and he did my tongue pierce. He was fast and it was painless. Good place, good people and good prices. Read Less

Literally walked in and out.......let's just say we didn't feel at all welcomed. My fiance asked for help and the young lady gave some very smug replies and walked off..... We spend thousand on our art. And our money definitely won't be spent there. I'll continue to drive 30 mins away to red octopus in morningside!!! Read Less
