Note: to make an appointment, you must go to the store. They will not make appointments over the phone. I went in and met TK and told him the exact design we wanted. He could tell I was nervous since it was my first tattoo and he started making jokes, immediately putting me at ease. The tattoo itself was pretty simple and did not take long. Marko is absolutely amazing!  My best friend was a complete mess!  It was her first tattoo and she was incredibly sensitive to needles.  Marko was calm the entire time,  worked quick and made jokes throughout to keep her mind elsewhere.  She now wants to go back! This year I finally decided to get a tattoo. I've been wanting a tattoo for over a year now and researched on what tattoo I wanted. I love this place. Been going to Capitol Tattoo since around 2001. Marko is great! Very kind and personable. I live pretty far now so I tried asking questions at this other place closer to home and they completely sucked! So for every negative review I leave, I also do a good one. So here I am :)I immediately called Marko after leaving that other stupid place. Marko was awesome over the phone and it reminded me why I always go back to him. He was so kind and professional while explaining his available times and the process of paying a deposit (which I remember from previous times). Good artists require appointments which is understandable but you also have to know how to talk to people and Marko does that well. I have gone to capitol for a few things and always worked with Marco.  I found him kind and gentle and I thought I had found my place.  He would get five stars -- plus.  So now some background on this review.  My dad died in Florida five days ago. Tomorrow I will be back in in town for one day to pack to go back in Florida.  Is is important to me that I get a memorial tattoo for my dad.  I called and asked if Marco was there tomorrow.  He wasn't.  So I asked for someone else there tomorrow who was nice.  They told me all their employees were kind and Nick was on tomorrow.  I asked to make an appointment.  There was no indication he was booked.  And the person on the phone said he was there so I thought he would let me speak to him.  Instead the person on the phone was relaying messages from Nick.  I asked if I could come in for a consult tomorrow afternoon and the tattoo in the evening and I could hear Nick in the background answering.  He asked if I could come in today?  I told the person on the phone  I couldn't -- I was still in the airport in Florida.  Then I heard Nick say -- in a total douchebag voice -- "I find it hard to believe there is only one day she can come in."  Well, Nick.  I have to go back to Florida to be with my mom.  So yes, there was only one day.  So let me give you advice -- if you are an ass -- than mute your phone before you speak like a jerk.  And before you act like an unkind jerk nut, maybe you should hear the why.  I am sad to lose Marco, but I don't want to go where people are arrogant, unfeeling jerks.  Screw you Capitol Tattoos. I just got pierced here yesterday and the guys were so professional, and not a robotic type of professional but a personable type of professional. Where Mark (my piercer who also does tattoos) explained to me what instruments he was using their sterilization process ( everything came straight out of a fresh pack), and how each tool was going to effect me letting me know  when to take deep breaths and exhale. Then to top it off without with ever asking he let me know what I may experience following my session and how to care for my piercings. The amazing man at the front desk yesterday I suck so hard for not getting your name but you seriously made me feel like I walked in and saw a friend but at the same time so professional and I loved that. My ID was checked I signed on the dotted lines and it was clear you were not going to waiver on that at all which is great because I understand that business is business you educated me on the history of the shop and seemed so proud to work there. Got a pair of piercings done here a while ago, and they never healed fully or properly. The old guy who pierced me told me to use Bactine to clean them, which I did religiously. Oddly enough, I was never told to do salt-water soaks (which every other piercer I've met highly recommends).Since I no longer live anywhere near this shop, I've visited several other piercing shops to buy new jewelry. I've noticed that as I was getting the new jewelry put in, the piercers would look at my piercings strangely but would never tell me why. The last piercer I went to inserted my new jewelry and finally told me that my piercings are crooked. She gave me a mirror and let me see it for myself (with the new jewelry inserted). Yep... crooked as hell. I guess the jewelry I've previously worn kept me from seeing it before, but with this new jewelry I can clearly see that they're not even. Read Less
