My wife and I stopped by the booth today at the Tattoo Expo in Crystal City. We were referred to Duffy by a really nice artist with another shop, who was honest about not being able to do what I wanted. Long story short.... we walk up to the booth, ask a nice young lady for Duffy, who points her out. Duffy is talking to a couple of guys, so we patiently waited while looking at the portfolios on the table. When she was done talking, she turns her back to the table and starts fiddling with equipment. After about a minute, the other lady tells her "I think they wanted to talk to you or ask you something. " Duffy continues to keep her back to us and does not even acknowledge that we're standing there. The other lady's face was pretty awkward as she saw us being ignored. We decided to leave. I've gotten work and piercings at 2different Red Octopus locations and was pleased. This was rude, disrespectful and unnecessary. You're at an expo.... when someone approaches your booth asking for you and you're not tattooing, acknowledge them.... simple! Even if you're busy and prepping for another client, it's very simple to acknowledge someone. There was a blizzard outside today and the place was not crowded at all, so that's no excuse.

Could not have been a better first time tattooing experience! Staff was friendly, helpful, and supportive with information and ideas. I ended up choosing to book with Sami and I could not be happier with her work! She took a lot of time and care to walk me through the whole experience, and the results are exactly what I wanted. And her use of TatuDerm made the aftercare almost nonexistent. 5 stars for sure!

Took my girls, three and six, to have their ears pierced at the Red Octopus in Prince Frederick today. Peaches was wonderful. She made not only my girls feel at ease, but me as well. She was quick and made it as painless as possible. I would recommend her to any parent looking to pierce their childs ears.

Woke up yesterday and decided to get my left nipple pierced. Drove to the shop and was immediately greeted by the front desk. I told them what I wanted and filled out paperwork. Cassidy led me to her station and did the piercing. From my research, I knew the piercing was going to be very painful. Cassidy put me at easy and made me feel I was in good hands. Not gonna lie, the procedure was painful, but fast. She explained the after-care clearly and answered all my questions. I was in and out the door within 20-25 minutes.

Andi was amazing. Got matching tats with my dad (my first, his fourth) and couldn't have had a better experience. We were taken as a walk-in when we found out it would take until the beginning of July...
Andi was amazing. Got matching tats with my dad (my first, his fourth) and couldn't have had a better experience. We were taken as a walk-in when we found out it would take until the beginning of July to get an appointment, as we were only here visiting for the week. Couldn't have asked for a better first time experience.

I will never go anywhere else! This was my first time even walking in. I was impressed with the appearance of the shop. The last 2 places I had been seemed to want to fit the stereotype of dingy, dark, dive tattoo shop. Red octopus is so clean and beautifully set up and comfortable! I was in and out in less than an hour and I got a new tattoo and a touch up. Andi rocks! She sees your vision and makes it happen,her work is beautiful! I will never go anywhere else!

Don't believe the hype. It's the type of establishment that you have to personally know one of the artists to get in in a timely manner. Called multiple time to set up an appointment and was told it's only walk ins on Saturday. After setting aside a while afternoon on Saturday to show up an hour early to secure a spot for "Walk ins". We were second through the door and in line and we are told that they don't have time for any walk in and they also said whoever said they only do walk ins has no idea what they are talking about. Mind you I called multiple times and got the same answer. So not only do they not know what thier employees are telling customers. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They don't value the customer or thier time.

This is the only place I will go. I've been going there over five years seeing Julie and she is amazing at what she does. All of the staff is great the place is spotless and they're just amazing I get all my tattoos and all my piercings there and I'm covered in tattoos from them so if you're looking for a Tattoo Salon definitely go to Red Octopus and ask for Julie, or actually any of their artists they're all amazing you will definitely walk away satisfied.

Drove friend here to get tattooed. It was the coolest place, everyone on staff is warm and welcoming. Try to make an appointment before you go but they'll work with you either way. The artist consulted with my friend about their design, came up with something they really loved, but then printed out several alternatives with minor adjustments just so they could see what other concepts would look like. Free swag with tattoo. 10/10 Would recommend. I'm going there for my next tattoo!

I absolutely love Red Octopus. I have two tattoos, both done here. The shop is clean and comfortable. My first tattoo was done by Julie, she was incredible and really worked with me to make my tattoo perfect. She listened to everything I said, and made it perfectly dainty like I wanted. She took so much time in the little details, and everyone else in the shop was interested in the progress of my tattoo. My second tattoo was designed by Duffy to start with, and then Dave finished the design. Dave did the tattoo, and he did it wonderfully! He was super friendly and kept telling me how good I was doing. Dave also did a beautiful job with the color and shading making the flowers in my tattoo to pop. The overall atmosphere here is incredible. All the artists seem to have a good relationship and are enjoyable to be around. They joke with each other and all the customers. It's a wonderful place to go, and they do great work. I know it might be kind of out in the middle of nowhere, but it is completely worth the trip! Wonderful work by every artist and a wonderful environment!

Red Octopus is quite a nice tattoo parlor. Very organized, clean, and eye-catching. It may not be in the best location but it's really a great shop. I had a tattoo in mind for months and after much research finally contacted Duffy for a consultation. She was able to squeeze me in last minute the next week. Her drawing was stunning and she was very accommodating when it came to editing it to fit my exact desire. I left much of the design up to her as she is the artist and I am far from, and I could not be happier with what she did. The ombre effect in the coloring is stunning. The parlor is very clean and friendly. The chairs are comfortable enough for the normal 1-3 hour sittings and the other artists, when not busy with their own work, walked around and were very chatting with each others clients. It was nice to break up the monotony of a 2.5hr session. I will be returning and highly recommend Duffy!

Sometimes this place gets a bad rep because its been the only place around for a long time but in a semi rural area. I've had a few tattoos and piercings done here and have been very satisfied. Everything is done out in the open so you can others getting worked on and see them sterilizing and opening all equipment. No complaints here!

I will never go anywhere else! This was my first time even walking in. I was impressed with the appearance of the shop. The last 2 places I had been seemed to want to fit the stereotype of dingy, dark, dive tattoo shop. Red octopus is so clean and beautifully set up and comfortable! I was in and out in less than an hour and I got a new tattoo and a touch up. Andi rocks! She sees your vision and makes it happen,her work is beautiful! I will never go anywhere else!

Don't believe the hype. It's the type of establishment that you have to personally know one of the artists to get in in a timely manner. Called multiple time to set up an appointment and was told it's only walk ins on Saturday. After setting aside a while afternoon on Saturday to show up an hour early to secure a spot for "Walk ins". We were second through the door and in line and we are told that they don't have time for any walk in and they also said whoever said they only do walk ins has no idea what they are talking about. Mind you I called multiple times and got the same answer. So not only do they not know what thier employees are telling customers. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They don't value the customer or thier time.

Definitely will be back ! My husband and I love our ring tattoos Shady did for us! They turned out great, and how we wanted them too. From the time we walked in to the time we left. Shady and the staff of Red Octopus Tattoo were very friendly, professional, and made us fell comfortable. Shady does great work, and I will definitely be referring my friends to him.

This is the only place I will go. I've been going there over five years seeing Julie and she is amazing at what she does. All of the staff is great the place is spotless and they're just amazing I get all my tattoos and all my piercings there and I'm covered in tattoos from them so if you're looking for a Tattoo Salon definitely go to Red Octopus and ask for Julie, or actually any of their artists they're all amazing you will definitely walk away satisfied.

This is the only place I go for my tattoos Shady Smith did my tattoo last night along with my better half tattoo we absolutely love them. I have a total of 9 now and Red Octopus did them all. My first 3 were done by Clark still look awesome. I have one done by Shannon . One by Andi she totally caught the beauty of my butterfly pic. One by Chris . And my last three by Shady they are awesome. Will be returning again.

Drove friend here to get tattooed. It was the coolest place, everyone on staff is warm and welcoming. Try to make an appointment before you go but they'll work with you either way. The artist consulted with my friend about their design, came up with something they really loved, but then printed out several alternatives with minor adjustments just so they could see what other concepts would look like. Free swag with tattoo. 10/10 Would recommend. I'm going there for my next tattoo!

Went in with a general idea of what I wanted, showed it to Shady, and let him go at it. What he drew up was better than anything I could have ever imagined. Not only was his artwork amazing but he made the entire experience great. I imagine it's hard keeping someone still for 5 hours but he did. He worked quickly, efficiently, and all with a smile. 100% will return to his chair to get whatever I think up next. Thanks, Shady!

I absolutely love Red Octopus. I have two tattoos, both done here. The shop is clean and comfortable. My first tattoo was done by Julie, she was incredible and really worked with me to make my tattoo perfect. She listened to everything I said, and made it perfectly dainty like I wanted. She took so much time in the little details, and everyone else in the shop was interested in the progress of my tattoo. My second tattoo was designed by Duffy to start with, and then Dave finished the design. Dave did the tattoo, and he did it wonderfully! He was super friendly and kept telling me how good I was doing. Dave also did a beautiful job with the color and shading making the flowers in my tattoo to pop. The overall atmosphere here is incredible. All the artists seem to have a good relationship and are enjoyable to be around. They joke with each other and all the customers. It's a wonderful place to go, and they do great work. I know it might be kind of out in the middle of nowhere, but it is completely worth the trip! Wonderful work by every artist and a wonderful environment!

Red Octopus is quite a nice tattoo parlor. Very organized, clean, and eye-catching. It may not be in the best location but it's really a great shop. I had a tattoo in mind for months and after much research finally contacted Duffy for a consultation. She was able to squeeze me in last minute the next week. Her drawing was stunning and she was very accommodating when it came to editing it to fit my exact desire. I left much of the design up to her as she is the artist and I am far from, and I could not be happier with what she did. The ombre effect in the coloring is stunning. The parlor is very clean and friendly. The chairs are comfortable enough for the normal 1-3 hour sittings and the other artists, when not busy with their own work, walked around and were very chatting with each others clients. It was nice to break up the monotony of a 2.5hr session. I will be returning and highly recommend Duffy!

Sometimes this place gets a bad rep because its been the only place around for a long time but in a semi rural area. I've had a few tattoos and piercings done here and have been very satisfied. Everything is done out in the open so you can others getting worked on and see them sterilizing and opening all equipment. No complaints here!
