I got the impression that it was a whites only establishment because there were like 3 people working in there at the time and a long haired blonde man came over to talk to me. I told him I was interested in getting a tattoo, he told me to come back and speak to another person about the design. That would have been understandable if 2 white females weren't 4 feet away from me discussing their tattoo that they were interested in with another employee. I asked the employee that was talking to me, how I could set up to come and he mentioned leaving a deposit and when I said okay, then he switched up and said, it was cash only...I got a bad vibe at this establishment, if I'm wrong and blacks have had no issues there in the past, I apologize but from what I saw, business from me was not desired at all...Thanks to the employee that did come to talk to me, he tried very hard to not come off offensive so that tells me that he is just following orders from his boss. I had Vaughn do a simple minimalist daisy with roman numerals next to it on the inside of my ankle as a tribute to my mother and deceased father. I made it in right before they closed, but he still fit me in and i literally couldn't be happier!! The shop itself is very clean with a ton of work to look at while you wait to be seen. Normally, i would extensively research my artist beforehand, but since this was so last minute i didn't have time to do that, but it all worked out because i am SO glad i got Vaughn, he designed it perfectly, the lines are beautifully flawless! he was very professional and also laid back at the same time! the tattoo itself seemed like it took no time at all and was way less painful than i thought it was going to be! i am so happy i found this shop! i will definitely be coming back for more work! My dad has been getting his tattoo's done by Glen for about 15-16 years. When my sister and I became old enough, we did the same. Electric tattoo is the friendliest, cleanest shop I've ever been in. They genuinely care how you love your piece(s) and that your satisfied. I've been tattooed in two college towns as well and I regret it. Electric is the only place to go for great work. Vaughn did a cover up for me a year ago. It was an old mistake that was just wrong. In so little time and with almost no hesitation he made it into a respectable memorial for my son who I lost many years ago on June 17th. I am thankful for his talent and compliment to my life. I was recommended to see Glen 5 years ago and have to say it was the best place I have been told to see ever since I moved to the area 10 years ago.  I have a full sleeve by him and continuing more. I even have referred my own family to him! My sister needed a cover-up done and I have to say he did a superb job!  Very clean and sterile atmosphere and great conversation to boot! Glen does my tattoos. I have been going to Glen for 10 years. I have 5 tattoos done by him. The first one that was done 10 years ago was a small one on the back of my neck. I ran in to him 4 years later and saw him work on a few of my friends. And I just love all of his work on them. I remember having a good experience getting tattooed by him so I decided to go see him again. I did see 3 other tattoo artist in those 4 years.      Since then I've got 4 other ones that I am very happy with and get complements on all the time. For someone who doesn't know anything about getting a tattoo, I was pointed in the right place.  Electric Tattoo came highly recommended by numerous people and I was glad to have a chance to visit the place.It was hard to come by a lot of work by the artists at Electric because they don't have a dedicated webpage.  They do have a Myspace page, but it doesn't have all the work each artist has done (Take a look at all the artist's pages as they have more of their own work displayed there).  I had the pleasure of having Dave Regan draw and work on my tattoo.  He really got the idea around what I wanted to do and added his own style to create a stunning piece.  The tattoo work areas are really clean and sterile.  All of his tools were clean and sterile as well.  Dave explained the processes clearly and I definitely trusted him with the direction he was taking my tattoo in.Everyone there is laid back, easygoing and friendly.  I can see why he would enjoy working there.  They don't take credit cards so make sure you bring enough cash.  I highly recommend Dave or Brett for your tattoos!
