Great tattoo shop. All the people were very polite. I got my tattoo from Terry Morgan at the suggestion of a friend. He was just guesting there and now has his own shop. The shop is very, very clean. This review is specifically about OLDE LINE TATTOO WEST located at 405 N Highway 101 in Solana Beach, California.The shop recently opened and is just blocks from the beach.  The atmosphere is calm, relaxing, and inviting.  The owners, Dave and Kim Kruseman are amazing human beings.  There are four artists there presently (IG: DaveKruseman, ChristinaTattooer, BenRoundsTattoo, and 1JohnHargis); no piercer presently.  They're open 7 days a week 11am-8pm and can be contacted at (858) 925-7087 or through the shop IG (oldelinetattoo) or online at oldeline.com.Dave is my dedicated tattoo artist because... I trust him to literally tattoo anything on me.  Case in point, I've had two tattoos not knowing what I'd be getting until the day of AND I have another appointment scheduled where I won't even know what I got until after it's done (I plan on not looking).In the shop they have a sign that reads "Enter a stranger; leave a friend." This is ABSOLUTELY 100% Dave and Kim's LIFESTYLE. Sells tattoo gift cards to young teenagers. My son wanted a tattoo and thought if he bought a gift card that would some how let him get one. I took him in there to take it back and was told to come back. I came back to the owner who seemed more offended at my stance on not letting my son get a tattoo. And tried her best to embarrass me.She called me a bad father. She accused me of YELLING at her "under paid" staff ( I actually was almost whispering). She claimed she had me on camera throwing a fit( not even close).She called me poor and fine i will give this to you cuz you need it more than me and so on. If I could give more then five stars, I absolutely would.  This is the place to go in the whole eastern coast to go.  Normally they say you get what you pay for, well yes that's true but with this gallery it's more then just that.  The front of the house is outstandingly friendly, any questions, concerns, etc.  are address respectfully and honestly.  The overall cleanliness is far beyond expectations and after getting my first tattoo there and observing their cleaning procedures; everything is done to a T.  My artist was Kike, so I am inclined to say he is the best artist, however I looked at all of their portfolios and all of them make amazing work.  Pricing could not be any fairer, it may be a little more then anticipating but I assure you, it is well worth the extra dollar.  This. I got my ears gauged today by Jake. Right from the jump I knew the associates here were professional. I came in a couple days prior to ask a few questions and scope the place out. I'm no stranger to tattoo shops and I know to do my homework because well, you can never be too careful especially when you're dealing with something that's permanent whether it be a piercing or a tattoo. My first initial interaction with Kim I could tell the associates genuinely give a shit about t...heir customers. The experience and conversation with Jake leading up to the piercing was great. This was obviously my first time getting gauges and Jake was more than willing to not just answer my many questions about the process but took the time to have a regular conversation as well. I'm all for getting right down to business but sometimes it's refreshing to walk into an unfamiliar establishment and be able to have a genuine conversation lol. I can only speak for my experiences with the two associates I spoke with but given how extremely CLEAN and tidy the shop is, I have no doubt that you or I for that matter would have the same experience with any of the other associates there. Word to the wise, don't be that person who walks into a tattoo shop/parlor and expects to be seen and taken care of immediately. This shit takes time. I got a $600 tattoo done by Max & it ended up not being done the way we talked about or how I wanted. I went back a few times to have ideas on what could be done for improvement. I even spoke to the owner's wife once I saw he posted a picture of my tattoo saying exactly what I felt was wrong with it on his instagram. I told him the tattoo looked like a dragon to me instead of a native american wolf. He posted the picture saying I got my dragon done. I reached out to the owner...'s wife Kim and she had him remove the post. I asked for a refund of some sort because it seemed deliberate. She said she would speak to her husband & get back to me. After trying to follow up on several occasions she stopped answering my calls & texts. When I called the shop they said she left for California. Figures. Haven't gotten any further since. Sat inside for 10-15 mins waiting on the piercer after speaking with the front desk staff. Once the piercer became available, neither of the staff could find the energy to tell her we had be waiting so she helped two more parties while we sat and waited. After she rang someone else up and the front staff still couldn't get off their phones or stop talking with friends, we left. Glad I didn't drop a penny in there, and sure as fuck won't be back in. Within 24 hours of having my nostril pierced, I wound up with a nasty sinus infection (no correlation, I promise). It's a testament to my amazing piercer (Corrine, I think?) that even though I've been blowing my nose consistently for 6 days, my piercing hasn't hurt at all. This was my 3rd tattoo. My first & second tattoo I got somewhere else & while my first experience was okay my second was horrible! This was my 1st time getting tattooed at Olde Line & it was a wonderful experience all the way around! From the very first moment I walked in to schedule till after it was done! Olde Line is a super clean shop with the friendliest crew around. I have had two pieces done by Kruseman, both of which turned out awesome. Worth the drive. I followed my artist, Dave Waugh, from DC to his new work at Olde Line Tattoo. It was a little over an hour coming from Virginia. Shop was clean and comfortable. At 74 yrs of age I got my first tattoo 1 wk ago. I must say that as a healthcare professional I was quite pleased with the sterility and overall cleanliness of the facility. The customer service and general demeanor was most most satisfying. My tattoo was done just the way I wanted. I love it. I thought the price was reasonable. This place is extremely over priced. To get strength tattooed on my neck it would cost 100-120 dollars. I have two other script tattoos both of which are longer than the word strength and both were less than 100 dollars. It's ridiculou!! Read Less
