The piercer here is awesome. I'd give Emily five stars any day. She's done so many of my piercings, probably at least a dozen and she extremely friendly, professional and experienced. If you want piercings and you're in the area, go to her! I'm giving this place a three star review over all because the tattoo quality is sub par. A friend of mine just got a very simple tattoo on his forearm and the line work is absolutely terrible, it's shaky and wonky and looks like it was done by a novice or someone intoxicated, he's now going to have to get it covered up elsewhere. All the other tattoos I've seen from there aren't that good either, I'd definitely recommend you make the trip to Frederick or Damascus and get a real good tattoo. Read Less

I went in to get my nose pierced. Emily was my piercer. She is excellent and really knows what she is doing, very experienced. The place was sterile and clean and she was super sweet and made me feel really comfortable and at ease. She talked me through my worries as I was a little nervous and she was so kind and lovely about the whole thing, not making me feel stupid at all. I had a great experience here! I came in twice today, once to get my stud changed to a hoop and the second time to get a tattoo. The lady who changed out my piercing was nice and made the switch quickly (I didn’t catch her name unfortunately). Eric did my tattoo and I loved it! It was my first tattoo and he did a quick sketch of what I wanted, got to work, and I was out of there in less than 30 minutes with a great tattoo. I found them totally randomly while looking for a shop that would do dermal piercings, I had called 2 other places before them and both had ridiculously long waits before a piercer would even BE in shop. I called Ambrotos and to my surprise got an immediate "come on in!". Once I got there the staff was friendly and helpful and even able to accommodate a totally spontaneous tattoo by Eric. I've gotten my 2 tattoos done here and I couldn't be happier! I came in the first time with nothing particular in mind and Tim came up with a great idea and design. I came in a few days ago and got my second tattoo done by Eric and my design couldn't work, but the design he came up with was so much better than what I had in mind and it's absolutely beautiful! I called them up to see if they could take a walk in and they managed to squeeze me in at that moment. I was there within a half hr. and saw Tim. He gave me an outstanding compass rose tattoo for a reasonable price. The man REALLY knows his stuff. He's got a classic style with clean lines and is great at lining stuff up evenly/spacing and sizing if you have other art to work around. Of course I came on Yelp to pick where to get a tattoo from. Last weekend I was going to come here but when I called they said they were busy so I decided to go to another one in Gaithersburg. Didn't get a good feeling so we left. On Friday the 19th came already with an appt, I guess my appt wasn't made correctly cause when I arrived no one knew. The lady had me filled out a paper and asked me where and what I wanted to get. Eric then came out and presented himself. Showed him the font I would like of the name and the placement. Asked me to pick the font from a website online. Due to the placement of the tattoo I was nervous. But Eric made me feel extremely comfortable. We talked throughout the process. And as I was laying on the bed I was literally thinking okay he must be half way done so another 20 minutes. Yeah right! within 1-2 minutes said okay we are done. That was quick. I also didn't feel it since he talked to me the whole time. He gave me aftercare instructions. When I tipped him I thanked him, also for making me feel so comfortable. Thanks Eric! Walked in with one design and the guy at the front (whose name I didn't get - sorry) explained why it wouldn't work in the size that I wanted. He was very patient with me and took the time to explain everything. I got a second design that I was going to come back in for. LOL. I love these guys. Dewon did my ink. I asked if it would hurt, and he said yes and he wasn't kidding. Rebecca (I don't think she works there, but I'm glad she was there) held my hand and talked me through the outlining of my very probably inch long tattoo (no kidding. still hurt like hell), and Sev held my had thru the fill-in. I noticed a sign that said their piercer is only available on certain days and not the day I walked in. The guy at the desk was nice but I drove out of my way to find that I couldn't buy a nose ring from them because their piercer isn't there on Monday - Wednesday. I would have thought it wouldn't matter since my nose is already pierced and I just wanted to buy jewelry but I guess if she's not there, there's no one who can sell you a nose ring. I came here because a friend recommended it. I wanted somewhere cheap but with good quality and I definitely came to the right place. There's no unnecessary initial expensive deposit and appointments are so easy to make. This was my first tattoo and an amazing experience. My artist was Mikey and I highly recommend him (or even anyone there). Everyone was social and friendly. He kept me reassured and I always felt safe that he knew what he was doing. The outside looks a little sketchy because it just says "Tattoo" but trust me, the inside is really nice and upscale. 10/10 recommend! Went in to have my ear lobes reopened and the the piercer there was great. I was very impressed with Emily who did an amazing job on my nose piercing last night. I was a little apprehensive looking at this place from the outside but once inside I was greeted by some very friendly and chill people. The environment was very relaxed, plenty of people waiting to get tattoos but there was also a lot of people waiting to get pierced. They don't take appointments for piercings so it's basically first come first served. You pay up-front, mine was $40. Not a bad price at all. I waited about 35 minutes. Emily was so funny and had a great personality. She seemed very experienced and I was pierced before I even knew it. Before I left she made sure I had her phone number and told me to call or text if I had any concerns later. She told me that I could come back to change my jewelry if I don't want to change it on my own which is a super nice thing to do considering I didn't even think about how difficult it may be to change. I think she said she works Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays so I recommend that you go see her for all your piercing needs. Looking at it today I don't have any redness and it's not sore. Went to this place twice to get my belly button pierced. The first time I went, the piercing came out a few days later, because no one told me that I had to make sure the balls were screwed on tight enough - Keyska did this one.The second time I went back to have it repierced, the girl that did it (Not Keyska or Shannon - didn't get her name - but she is short, thin and dark haired and really bad at piercing obviously), kept saying she couldn't really get it right but she was trying, so I kept saying, I will just come back and let Keyska do it, but she insisted she would get it just perfect. Well as I tried to lay down for her to do the piercing, I could hardly put my legs on the table, because some girl was getting her back tatooed in this same tiny little space!! I was like WTF!? So finally she decided she simply couldn't do it with me laying down, so I had to stand back up and do you know what, the piercing is CROOKED!!! I just gave up! This place sucks and I wouldn't go back there if they offered to redo my piercing for free even though the fee went up since Keyska had done the first one (three weeks time difference)- the chick that did the piercing said - inflation...! I will have someone that really knows how to do these things pierce my belly button right again later! Ambroto's needs to stick to tattoo's because their piercers are poorly trained. Read Less
