I've had a nose piercing and a tattoo done here a couple of years ago but came in recently with a friend to get his first tattoo done.... the girl at reception seemed completely disinterested and awkward with us. I was embarrassed as I'd raved about this place to my friend about what a great experience I had, and the girl kept saying how she doesn't know the artists schedule and they'd call him etc and it would be a month until the next available consultation. Raw Ink Studio. I have been going to raw ink studio since 2009 when they have not moved to their new location. I have been very happy with my service back when and now. I am currently in the process of working with Bobby to get a piece I've wanted. He works hand in hand with what I am going for and also draws out the design for you. He is honestly a master at his trade, I would highly recommend him. As for the other artists, I have seen all of their work and I would also trust them as well. As for the building itself, It is very clean. The bathroom is always clean as a whistle (a must). There is also a really cool art gallery within the building. There have been consistent live events there as well which are really cool if you are local. Overall, I would highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for any tattoo, coverup, piercing. I took an hour out from my workday to go in for a consultation with Bobby (the owner) that I had called ahead the day before to set up.  I was told he was tattooing someone (none of the other artists was even there -- bad sign that says this shop isn't doing well) but he'd be with me shortly.  I waited for almost an hour, shooting pool and enduring the cliche Cookie Monster Death Metal blaring on the overhead speakers (seriously, so cliche.  BRO, WE'RE A TATTOO SHOP BRO), before I got fed up and left.  The receptionist was nice and apologized and asked if I could maybe stop by later that night.  I declined and went to a different shop (Stone the Crow) instead and had an amazing experience, so it all worked out for the best.I know Bobby was busy but I'd called ahead and come on...you can't take a five minute break?  Potential customers deserve better service.  Avoid at all costs. I had expectations going into the appointment; I'm very picky and wanted my tattoo to look a certain way, it turned out completely different than what I imagined.... My Dad's been going to Bobby the last 10 years for all his tattoos, so, when I was looking to get work done, I went straight to Raw Ink. Bobby was booked out, no surprise... but, we were able to make an appointment with Jason. He listened to our idea, and was able to stencil out the design exactly how we imagined it. He was done with each of ours in about 10 minutes, and gave great instructions on the healing process. Jason also guarantees his work for life and offers free touch ups. They also have an entire side of the shop set up for live music and events. If you live in the area, check them out. As for the shop, imagine an estate sale for a rock in roll legend. That's the vibe when you walk in. Tons of cool, random, stuff everywhere.Definitely a happy customer. I'll be back again in the fall to get another piece done. Read Less

I attended a show last night. I only managed to catch Red This Ever out of the great line up. I found the space amazing, well set up. Everyone was really nice. After the show I stayed after and hung out with some awesome people, one of them turned out to be the owner (Bobby). The way he welcomed me made me feel good. I have gone to Raw ink a few times and always had a great experience.  I had a fairy tattoo done by someone who no longer works at raw ink and  I was 22 when i got it and thought it was ok but i dont like to complain.   I finally went back last year (5 years later)  and Bobby helped fix it.  He went above and beyond to make it how it was originally supposed to be and then some.  I definitely will continue to return and recommend this place. I visited the shop in hopes of getting a new tattoo. I spoke with bobby(the owner) and he assured me that the shop was the place to get my next piece of art. I gave him my ideas and he said he was the man for the job and asked for my contact info so that he may schedule a consulting appointment.....sound great so far.. The lady at the front was really helpful and nice. They have really cool saltwater fish tanks all around the shop which was a bonus for me. I got both lobes pierced and Jason was super professional. My experience at Raw Ink was top notch. Everyone there was incredibly professional, helpful and its definitely a cool environment to get a tattoo. From the moment I called they made sure to put me in touch with a great artist who could help me customize my artwork and set up a convenient time to come in for my tattoo. My son had his first tattoo done at Raw Ink 6 years ago when their shop was up the street from where they are now.  I went in this past Tuesday (11/15/2016)  afternoon and they took me without an appointment. Matt was my artist. I gave him 3 pictures of what I wanted. He took them  and turned them into exactly what I envisioned!  He did all 3 tats within 2 hours. He had nice music playing, I was so relaxed that it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. It actually hurt more the day after I had it done!! This is a long overdue review but much needed. I originally met the team at the Baltimore Tattoo Convention where I was turned down multiple times for my rib/cover-up piece. The only shop up for it was Raw Ink and after a session at the convention then another at the Studio where Bobby free handed the entire tattoo and did an amazing cover-up at the same time. I couldn't have been any happier with my tattoo and highly recommend this Studio to others. Also the shop was very clean and contrary to another review Bobby and the rest of the staff would always go outside to smoke. The prices are crazy reasonable compared to other shops in the state especially for the level of professionalism and expertise you will receive, so definitely check this place out guys. I always go to Matt Leo.He's a great artist, he cares about the quality of work he does, and he listens.If he suggests any changes, he will discuss them with you before hand and explain why it would be a better choice than the former.I went to see him 3 years ago, and again 2 years ago. When I had my dagger tattoo done, he had a very similar design painted by him and hung on his wall.He asked to incorporate his design in with the one that I had shown him. I've been going to Eric for a couple years now. He's done 7 pieces so far. I couldn't be happier! I've also gotten a couple piercings and those were done great, haven't had any issues. I love the atmosphere, everybody there is very welcoming and accommodating, and the entire shop is very clean and sanitary. This is something I've been meaning to write for a very long time. A few years back my best friend and I were looking to get matching tattoos. We finally decided on a design and I had heard great things about Raw Ink and Bobby so I we went to go check it out. We spoke to Bobby, got a quote and set up our appointment. I couldn't have been more excited. Little did I know things were about to go so wrong. A few weeks later my friend and I showed up for our appointments which were scheduled to start at 3pm. When we arrived we were told that Bobby wasn't in yet and we were ushered to the waiting area. After waiting a total of 4 hours we were finally brought into the studio by an assistant at 7pm. When Bobby finally walked in he had cuts all over his face and was carrying multiple boxes of band-aids. The only explanation we received for his lateness was "Sorry, there was a band-aid problem." After getting his "band-aid" issue under control we were finally ready to start. He laid the stencil down on my best friend and it immediately looks wrong. I guess this should have been the first sign that we should have got up and left but for some reason we decided to stay. After all was said and done we both had hideous tattoos that looked nothing like what we asked for. (by the way if you can't tell from the photo I don't blame you its suppose to be a diamond) We went back the next day and complained but he was incredibly unprofessional about the matter. We later heard from friends that he had gotten into using hard drugs around the time that we had our work done and things started adding up.
