Walked in for my first tattoo.  Very simple design with four words and black ink.  Was told to come back that night and that the artist would email me the quote prior. An hour before my appt I called to check on the quote that never came and they had no record of my appt. Artist said my design would take longer than the time quoted and asked if I could come on a different day.  I agreed to and then I was told that the were no openings. Scheduling nightmare and not a good experience. Had $ in hand and was ready. They may be excellent artists but I'll never know.  Looking elsewhere. Read Less

Took my daughter to get her helix piercing for her 15th birthday.  Amber was very nice and knowledgeable, even had her check out the piercings that someone else did at one of the "novelty piercing & jewelry stores in the mall" she was very gentle since my daughter was a little nervous.  Will be going back here again by the end of the summer for more!  The store was very neat & interesting.  SUPER CLEAN!!!  The other staff were all so very helpful.  They clearly have a listing of what piercings they WILL do on minors, and the age/speaking level required, so even younger children can go there with parents.  Be prepared and make sure you have the paperwork needed ahead of time by calling. I've been getting my tattoos done by Sarah for some time now, and she's absolutely stellar. Wonderful light touch, and so wonderfully artistic. My pack piece is quite colorful and prominent, and I've taken to carrying business cards for her so I can just hand them out instead of trying to give people the information. Danni has done my septum and so I knew when my niece wanted her ears pierced, I had to take her to Time Bomb. Danni was utterly outstanding. I love that there is no horrid piercing gun that I had been traumatized with as a child, and that she asked if my niece consented to the piercing and wouldn't do it if she didn't want it done. My niece was so scared! Her mother got a piercing to show her what would happen, and Danni was so kind and patient. When she got the nerve up to finally let the needle do it's business, she got very authoritative "just DO it already!" Six year olds mean serious business. Just got my mom her first tattoo here, for mother’s day, and it was perfect! We had Matt, and he was so patient and calm- my mother is shy and it was hard for her to ask him to move the piece when we were figuring out the placement, but Matt was extremely accommodating and reassuring. He offered his artistic advice without being pushy. The parlor was very clean and everyone who worked there was so sweet. Without a doubt, this is the best tattoo shop I have ever been to. I had a walk-in and saw Miranda for a small one that took under an hour just to see if I liked the shop. As a tattoo "virgin," I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one I had at Time Bomb. I scheduled my appointment ahead of time via phone and the staff was extremely punctual and detailed in their follow-ups. I wanted a tattoo of the band Smashing Pumpkins' logo, and the staff seemed really excited once I came in. I subtly noticed they started playing their music in the background, which was so cool... it seriously felt like a personalized appointment. Sarah was my tattoo artist and knowing I was a first-timer, she was great about walking me through each and every step. She offered several size and positioning options for my tattoo and once she applied the template, she gave me plenty of time to decide if it was what I wanted. I'll admit I was starting to get cold feet, and she offered to let me sleep on it and come in the next day to see her. It was very clear she respected my wishes and didn't want to push me into anything. I sucked it up and went through with it, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment you step in front of the charming Downtown Historic Frederick location of Time Bomb Tattoos and Curiosities, you are greeted by a steampunk Giraffe named Nigel. As you enter, you are greeted by a warm welcome by one of the front desk counter employees. They were busy but someone was there to at least ask me what I needed help with.I went in to get my eyebrow, helix, and 2 lobe piercings done. The piercing process was very smooth and easy going. All my piercings were being re-pierced so I knew it was going to hurt more. When I actually got everything pierced, it didn't hurt anywhere near as much as I thought. Personally, I've never been tattooed at Time Bomb. Based off of my research of the artists, I would definitely trust a few of the artists in the photorealistic style that I prefer.If you are looking for any cool oddities or gifts, their retail side has a pretty vast selection of awesome products.Definitely highly recommend. I had a great experience with Time Bomb's tattoo artist, Colin. My friend and I wanted a simple pineapple tattoo about 2 inches in length. Colin sat down with us and sketched it exactly how we pictured it, and then proceeded to get to work. He was very detail oriented and focused, but also friendly and sociable the entire time. His easy-going personality made the process a lot more bearable. A month or two after the initial tattoo was finished (by the way, it turned out great!), I did notice that it could use just a slight touch-up with some of the green ink. Colin was happy to touch it up free of charge and he was just as excellent the second time around. Although I only got a small piece of work done, I would absolutely recommend him for any large pieces you are considering. The overall service of Time Bomb was also impressive. They have the craziest collection of all sorts of curiosities with a heavy focus on double-headed animals. They are all for sale and come with a unique story of origin the kind girl behind the counter was willing to give us. The way they had these animals dressed was so unique and quite humorous! They also have some ladies accessories like Ouija board purses and jewelry of all kinds. They have kitschy grab and go items such as tattoo greeting cards as well. My two little girls and I didn't feel like outcasts coming in and just checking out the front of house as if it were a museum. Took my 5 year old daughter here to have her ears pierced. Great experience for her - they were gentle and professional and were great with her. They had lollipops in the waiting room for the kids, which was a nice touch and kept her distracted. I love that they ask for the child's consent - the kid has to be able to want to do this and verbally agree (and sign their name). This parlour has a warm, welcoming staff and a cool steampunk vibe going on. Staff in the shop had a good sense of humor, were relaxed but attentive to customer needs, and appeared to enjoy talking and getting to know their customers. I got two tattoos from Lou and they came out perfectly. He knew exactly what I wanted because he took the time to listen to me and go over the tattoo. My tattoos are phenomenal. My tattoos took approximately 2+ hours and Lou checked in regularly to make sure I didn't need anything and that I was comfortable. I also got a second ear piercing from Danni who did a fantastic job, she was highly professional, and told me what was going to happen at every step. Unfortunately I've received an extremely poor tattoo. I have over 10+ tattoos and I've never had any issues where the ink "bled" into surrounding areas. Upon removing the wrap the next morning, I could see the ink had started bleeding into my skin. When I decided to get my first tattoo, I researched area tattoo shops, and Time Bomb Tattoos & Curiosities seemed head and shoulders above the others in terms of the environment, customer service and quality of work. My experience confirmed that their high ratings were absolutely earned and justified! I consulted with Sarah regarding a design for a St. James Cross that I wanted for my right upper arm. Taking a few pictures and designs of various St. James Crosses that I gave Sarah, she developed a stencil that was perfectly sized and designed as I wanted. What's more, her finished work turned out to be a stunningly beautiful piece of art that far exceeded my expectations! Also, Sarah kept me entirely comfortable and at ease during the tattooing process with her warm and personable demeanor. My 3 friends and I stumbled upon this establishment while on our way home from a long journey. While riding, we all decided we wanted piercings so we made a pit stop in search of the nearest tattoo shop. From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was just great. Everyone was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable as we decided where we wanted our piercings.  I got a conch and forward helix piercing, one friend got a daith piercing, one a conch, and the other got her jewelry switched out. The person who pierced us was Tom and he was amazing!! He was very friendly and made the environment very comfortable. The piercing area was clean and all the tools were sterile. Anytime Tom touched something (cabinet door, etc) he would change his gloves. Tom laughed and joked with us the entire time and gave off nothing but good energy and positive vibes. I could not possibly recommend Time Bomb enough. Before my appointment, I'd sent Sarah some general ideas and a theme, but very little in the way of specifics. This piece was to be a celebration of my daughter, so I was nervous that I didn't have a clearer idea myself of exactly what I was looking for. Sarah absolutely blew me away. Not only did she nail the design, making me feel like she genuinely "got me", but she added some incredible little details that I never would've ...thought of.
