Tidewater Tattoo has been serving the area since 1986. We are an award winning studio offering a full range of tattooing styles. Everything from traditional to new school to fine line, realistic works of art. We utilize hospital type sterilization, with monthly tested autoclaves. We also offer body piercing using the same type of sterilization. We pride ourselves on courteous, attentive staff, and clean, comfortable atmosphere. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are best, as sometimes we are booked in advance. We have many designs available in the studio, but feel free to bring in your own designs, or ask us to design something for you as we welcome custom work.

Professional. Talented. Hospitable. Sanitary. Prices in line with industry standards. I prefer Rob, the owner, but have been tattooed by others in the shop as well and I'm thoroughly satisfied. Will gladly perform touch up work. You'll definitely need to make an appointment. Appointments are generally a month out. Skilled in many styles and cover up so you'll definitely find the right artist for your vision! Enjoy!

Every piercing I've gotten here has either been done crooked or extremely deep to the point where regular sized body jewelry would sink into my body or not fit completely through holes to be secured for wear at all. Thanks to tidewater tattoo and their shitty know-it-all attitude, I have a more than fucked belly button piercing (the most recent monstrosity I so foolishly allowed one of them to pierce on me) and I got a huge flesh-deteriorating infection from the shop to go with it! Ended up in the ER even after following their cleaning rules for the piercing! I now have to special order longer rings because the regular length ones will not reach through the hole. I'm 118 pounds. I shouldn't have to buy pregnancy fucking belly rings for a piercing that is done so frequently, it should be known HOW TO BE DONE CORRECTLY. I'm not sure what it is about this place that has everyone who works there's head shoved so far up their asses, but don't waste your time unless you wanna be told how wrong you are with basic questions/concerns, you want staph infection, or the verbal equivalent of a spit in the face when you call back telling them they fucked your body up (and my body confidence which is a whole other personal thing) Tidewater can eat my ass.

I am so pissed at the people who work at the store. They lied to me about the type of material my belly piercing is made of. They told me it is made of silver. After taking care of it I kept on having redness for a year-and-a-half. I finally decided to go to my dermatologist and she told me that the piercing is made of nickel and that I am allergic to it. I decided to double check if it is indeed nickel. How you ask? Simple, a magnet. I was really REALLY hoping that my doctor was wrong but it is well known that silver is not magnetic whereas nickel is magnetic. Unfortunately, it was magnetic which verifies that I was deceived. I will never, EVER, come back to this store and I really hope other people will be aware of their ability to lie to their customers.

I went here to get my first tattoo back in college. Even though it was the simplest of simple tattoos, Rob still made me feel very at home and welcome. He allayed my anxiety by explaining the whole process and talking through each step as we went along. The studio was impeccably clean. I am really proud to have a piece done by Rob (even though I get to choose who sees it!)
