Allisin Riot is by far the greatest artist I could ever ask to work with. Her technique is amazing, her artistry out of this world and her demeanor and customer service unmatchable. Absolutely zero complaints. I've been in for two walk-ins over the past two weeks. I went to a few other shops before coming in to Pinz and Needlez, and just walking in the door, P&T is the best shop around. The waiting room is spacious and comfortable, the music is great, and the artists are very professional while also genuinely enjoying themselves. I havent actually got a tattoo yet from her but I will be. A staff member from here went above and beyond with a act of kindness and paying it forward. My mom was at the 7-11 next to this location with my daughters when my mom was telling them she didn't have enough money on her to purchase the spinners they wanted. Jessy without saying a word went and purchased and gave my daughters the spinners. It says alot about a place by the people you hire and she has a big heart to do that. Best tattoo shop I've ever been to. Everyone was really friendly, especially Alexandra. Not only does she have a great personality but she was very helpful and talked to me while I was waiting. I have 5 tattoos and this was the best experience ever! I'm so glad I came here today, on my 35th birthday (2/24/17) to get what I thought would be my last one, but after my experience with Dave I may just have to get one more. I definitely recommend him and this establishment. Dave was comical and had me and my friend in stitches which helped to ease my fear about the pain I had been anticipating with getting a tattoo on my side. Kasey Gonzalez has been working on my full sleeve with cover-up. He is an amazing artist. He has done a great job. I looked around for months trying to find the best tattoo artist and I did. Drove almost three hours to this shop for my sons first tattoo and we were not disappointed! The shop was great looking and very clean. The entire shop was friendly and courteous and my sons artist (Jessy Knuckles) is a 10 of 10! Jessy took her time and made the entire session a great first time experience while getting a great first piece. She is a truly exceptional artist, Jessy and the shop greatly exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone within driving distance. Me and my two friends were recommended this shop by a friend. The artists are fabulous, professional and do fantastic work. They gave us three tattoos that day and all three of us, including the tattoo virgin in the group, were extremely pleased. We particularly love Jessy and Jorge! I have to say that I am not pleased with the level of customer service I have recieved in the past few months at Pinz and Needlez. I have been a patron of this shop for around 2 years now and have spent well over $1200.00 on work. For starters it seems that somehow everytime I got work done; I would pay for my tattoo ahead of time and leave my deposit it place. Somehow, each time I try to schedule my next visit the staff asks me for a new deposit and insists that I used it at my last visit...which is not true. Twice now have called and scheduled an appointment (as a regular customer, not a new comer, or one timer) and the staff said they would pencil the appt in but I would still need to call and deposit. Now knowing that I had already made that deposit... I still agreed but said I would have to wait for funds. Both times I called a few days or weeks prior to the appt and the new guy Richard who by the way is extremely arrogant and has very poor customer service skill has answered the phone, given me attitude and told me that my appts had been given to someone else. I have the highest respect for your artists. However, some of the staff's level of service leaves much to be desired. I understand with a tattoo studio comes a certain persona... but it is still a business and customers should be held at the highest level of respect and dignity. Becasue of the actions of Richard, and certain appt scheduler, I will no longer be a customer of your shop. This actually upsets me because I love your shop and most of the artists who work there, but I refused to be treated like a one timer tattoo customer. I do not regret having your artists work on my tattoo's; they are truely a work of art. Pinz and Needlez used to be one of the top tattoo shops in the area, but it seem for some reason that things have been slipping. I'm not sure if its the staff, or just a lack respect for customers. Finding a good, solid, professional tattoo shop in the Baltimore/DC area can be surprisingly difficult. When I was looking for my coverup on some deep and tough solid black tribal, I even looked as far as New York and Philadelphia as I could not find anyone I trusted with my skin in DC. I researched studios for over 3 years. I ended up going with Stevie, and although a long wait, it was absolutely worth it. Everyone in the shop is friendly, professional and knows what they are doing. Sissy is great as the first point of contact, working with your schedule and starting a folder for your "inspiration", making sure everything is set for your first appointment. Once the day came to get my work done, Stevie took his time, talked to me, listened to my feedback and ended up drawing an incredibly detailed coverup based on my ideas that will eventually be a sleeve. We ended up spending about five hours in the first session, and to see him work is to understand that tattooing is both an art and science, and he is an incredibly talented artist. He asked for my opinion even as he worked on the coloring, did an outstanding job on covering up some tough ink, and he even stayed late in the middle of a snowstorm to make sure the work was done properly and thoroughly. This is one of the best tattoo studios in the DC Metro area, and I would say one of the top ten on the East Coast. If you want quality work at a reasonable rate with top notch artists, there is only one clear choice in DC Metro: Pinz and Needlez. Read Less
