As a business, the poor facilities, drug paraphernalia and hung over/annoyed front desk employee lost you 2 stars. If you want to be a company known for great tattoos and piercings, do that. If you want to be a company known for selling pipes bowls and bongs, in a lack luster facility with metal tin fold up chairs, do that. Overall, this company does both. Purchased ear rings for my baby last night for $21.20 and come to find out we need ones that have a threaded on back so the baby won't pull the back of the ear ring off and eat it. So I took them back. They are sealed in the package and we never touched it but they won't take it back cause it left the store. You would think they know that you need a ear ring with a threaded on backing for a baby and not just a push on clip...so many children pull them off and eat them or lose them so no one uses them...i understand where there coming from but just disapointed in there knowledge and disappointing when it's still sealed and hasn't even been 18 hours. My experience at this shop has been disappointing—to say the least. Ronie was initially very friendly and engaging in the beginning UNTIL the point where I asked him to make changes to the drawing that he drew on my hip. I was very specific in sending him the details about how I wanted my tattoo to look (via text, email, and even a powerpoint creation of the lotus dreamcatcher and feather tattoo I wanted). Ronie wanted to draw his own version—which I understood so I allowe...d him to express his creativity. The marker drawing that he drew on my hip turned out a little different from what I expected (it’s very hard to envision what the final version will look like if you don’t have an eagle eye for it) – in the end —I didn’t perceive how the feather would turn out having large gaps and spaces….and clearly in the pics that I sent him I wanted my feather to be bushy and feathery (dainty and feminine)…instead I have what looks like a fishbone. Ronie and I discussed my concerns while I was still on the table and he agreed to make the corrections/additions to the spaces/gaps in 3 weeks after the tattoo healed. I verified that with him SEVERAL times that this would be done at no cost to me—and he agreed with me each time ( I had a witness there with me too)…but to my surprise after several attempts to contact Ronie (again via email and text and actual calls to the shop)—he now would not come to the phone and I learned via the young lady who answered the phone—there would be a $150 charge to me to correct this issue. NEVER once was I told this by Ronie. At the end of the day fair is fair. His attitude was very rude and almost hostile when I asked him to make changes to his drawings. I get that artists want to add their own personal touch—but if I send a specific picture of what I want ON MY BODY—and you decide to add your own creativity—I am allowed to NOT LIKE IT and ask you to change it(especially if the ink gun hasn’t even begun yet). It’s very unprofessional to throw a temper tantrum if I ask you to make changes to a design on paper before it goes on MY BODY FOREVER. I have multiple tattoos and I have never been treated this way by a tattoo artist OR salon EVER….to make matters worse the shop mgr/owner Jimmie rudely cut me off when calling to explain the situation. I guess at the end of the day—customer satisfaction and service is trumped by greed and bitterness. I will never recommend anyone to visit this shop after the way I have been lied to and disregarded- unfortunately! I decided a while back to get a nose piercing and on a recommendation from a friend, I went to Mystic. Mona was my piercer. She was patient with all my questions and quite professional. I am quite happy with the placement and the quality of jewelry I purchased. Getting piercings can be risky business if you’re not careful, but Mystic is a clean, well-lit place that provides excellent service and it’s clear that they know what they’re talking about. They also make it clear that if there are any issues with healing they are there to help. Consistent aftercare is crucial for a piercing to be successful and they make sure you understand what that means and know how to get the supplies you need. My mom LOVES this place. And she's very scared to try new things, She got her first Nose ring at 59 years old. Mona did an amazing job! she was sweet and very professional about everything. I went and saw Phill for a tattoo that I had been wanting after my son was born... It was a quote that meant a lot to me.. He went above and beyond! The script was beautiful n better than I imagined. I look at that tattoo everyday and it makes me smile!! I went back almost a year later because I was really unhappy with an older tattoo I had on my side that was a mess... I told Phill what I had in mind and he drew up the coolest tattoo... Was better than what I had been think...ing. Phil Doan is the only tattoo artist I will go to. He is seriously talented and just an awesome person! He's not one who will try and trick you! When I came in a few years ago to get my first tattoo, Phil made me feel comfortable and helped me understand what it would look like. Mona is the best. I took my sixteen year old daughter for her first navel piercing. I did my homework on three places, and choose Mystic Piercing out of the others based upon the fact that it has positive reviews. Once there I found the establishment to be very clean and the people/ artist were very professional and friendly. I recommend that everyone who decides to get any professional tattoo or piercing go to Mystic Piercing for the best experience. If you are a parent who decides to let your minor get a piercing Mystic is the most advisable place to go, because if your child is nervous about their first piercing the friendly staff has a way to ease their fears and those of the parent of the minor. They do that by making you feel more comfortable and fully explaining everything from what each tool is going to be used for right down to the piercing experience. The owner was friendly and answered every question that I had. Mona pierced my daughter and she was the best. It was much like taking my daughter to the pediatrician the amount of care that Mona used was a wonderful touch. I am happy with my decision to take my daughter there out of all the other places. Mona provided cleaning instructions, and the owner also said if there was any problems he could be reached at any time. I recommend Mona to any parent taking their child or teenager to get piercing. well i actually got my first piercing the morning of april 27th,2008 (my 18th birthday) at mystics!well, first off it was a sunday morning,most people are out partying and getting smashed on a typical saturday night soo i dont blame them but i saw a man stammer in looking quite hungover..i was praying he wasnt going to be piercing me..haha..but the atmosphere was pretty jumbled.piercing stands and what not everywhere through out the store.but the 2 workers there seemed to be nice yet maybe a little intimidating but they knew their stuff and i wasnt going stop them from doing their thing.hah but everything went very quickly and unpainfully.the man i had was very swift...but unfortunately i cannot remember his name but!it was a very fun experience...i might even go back and get my belly button there soon! I would definately reccomend going to Mystic Piercing for anyone who is considering getting a piercing. I just had my nose pirced yesterday by one of their experts "Matt" & he did a GREAT job. The staff was sooo informative & friendly. Fell free to ask ANY questions that you have...I did & they were answered! Even the most apprehensive person can appreciate their relaxed atmosphere & wisdom!!! I sure did & I even got an ice pop when I was done...EXCELLENT customer service :) The istruments used were in sterilized pouches & the rooms were very clean...a must!!! Like the sign out front reads, "Yes, it hurts" It was sooo worth it it was over soo fast & the outcome is worth the couple seconds of discomfort :) They will even change my nose jewery (diamond stud) with a new one in 6-8 weeks for FREE!!!!!! Based on the previoius reviews, I decided to visit this shop for a nose piercing. I have to tell you that I was surprised by the level of customer service I received. Since I am not a veteran at piercings, I had several questions about the process and the equipment that would be used to do the piercing. The guy (whose name I can not remember but he had a green mohawk) with whom I was asking the questions was very short and abrupt when it came to answering my questions. When I asked him if I could see the equipment, he said, "What for? Will it make you change your mind about getting it pierced if I showed you?" I thought that was rather rude and it didn't make me any more comfortable that he would be the one to perform the piercing. Also, I had my son with me who is three years old. He accidently spilled some juice on the already soiled carpet. One of the other employers yelled out, "He spilled it!" My son who made an attempt to he helpful started to rub the juice in with his shoe (I know that increases the mess but the three year old did not have a clue). He then yelled at him, "DON'T DO THAT!" That was when I decided it was time to go. I told them that I could see the patience level of the employees is pretty thin and we would no longer be a burden on them.
