I literally have NOTHING but positive things to say about Jackie and Pretty In Ink. After following her for a while on IG, I subscribed to her newsletter. After coming in for one of her monthly special tattoos, I was HOOKED! I already had 2 basic tattoos done by another artist ... but after my first appointment with Jackie, I knew that I wasn't going to any other tattoo artist. I can truly appreciate her protocols and the way she conducts business .. online consultations, email correspondence and confirmation. She gives you ample time to make any changes to your sketch, and is very honest about pricing and time commitments for your work. I searched for years for a tattoo artist local to the DMV area. I was referred to Jackie by one of my closet friends. I'd been following her work and several other local artists for the last year debating on which to use for the start of my sleeve, as well as a piece for my husband. Jackie is not only talented but her custom service is by far the best in the area, which to me is extremely important. I had reached out to another artist and only received an email response with a phone number no words just a number, I reached out to the number as well as the one that artist uses on their IG with no response. So I reread Jackie's site and filled out the inquiry properly as instructed on her site with my detailed vision. I immediately got a response requesting my photos and within the hour we had finalized my consultation for the first piece of my sleeve and my husbands custom piece. I booked my appointment for the next week and his for the following week, which mine was the day before her wedding and his was the day after her honeymoon (speaking of she still communicated and finished his sketch while on her honeymoon). Customer service at its finest!!!My appointment was awesome, on time, super personable like having one of my closest friends tattooing me (I actually told my husband I want her as my new friend lol). I used the numbing service for my vintage portrait of my grandmother and I'll never get a tattoo without it, those 4 hours flew by with no pain. My husbands appointment was the same he was so impressed with Jackie's skill level, her friendliness yet still very business minded. He spent 5 hours in her chair getting his custom black panther piece, which he LOVES! We both are so in love with our pieces and can't wait for Jackie to do our next pieces. I had an amazing experience at Pretty in Ink. Jackie helped me with my design via the online consultation process. Prior to my appointment a sketch was sent to me my email for my review and approval. The location was easy to find considering you receive a reminder email a few days before your appointment with directions and instructions. When I walked in I immediately felt relaxed and welcome. Jackie had soft music playing in the background and greeted me by name.  She offered water and complimentary healthy snacks. The shop is adorned in pink with pops of bling. Perfect for any girly girl. However, not over the top for potential male clients.  I completed my paperwork upon arrival and we began to start. I've had several tattoos by different artists but this was my favorite experience by far. Although I feel I have decent threshold for pain I feel her hands we very gentle while tattooing. She asked my comfort level and allowed me  to stretch and take breaks as needs. My appointment started right on time and finished close to the 3 hour window quoted. During the process Jackie talked to me and was very professional, motivating, and uplifting. I had a cover up tattoo done. She took a prior tattoo I absolutely hated and turned it into something I love. She will have a forever client with me.  You get what you pay for. I received a digital image of my tattoo placed in its location prior to my appointment. There were no surprises when I arrived and we got started right away. Got 1 tat from her and she was friendly , professional, and personable.Caught the $50 sale and it was the exact opposite . Every time I asked her a question about my upcoming tat, she didn't answer the question or made me feel like she was doing me a favor. This quote from her led me to cancel my appt. although it was nonrefundable. I'd rather have no tat than to have a courtesy rush job. Lastly, never did I state that I would be "willing to make anything work". So, I'm not sure why she assumed that."im not sure exactly what you expected for  $50 ... but your original email was very vague and alluded to the fact that you would be willing to make anything work that fit into the sale."- Jackie-This is In response to Jackie's comment below.When I got my 1st tat from Jackie my submission form was also vague, but she patiently worked with me to create a result that I liked. I emailed her throughout the week and she answered promptly.  Before the appt., we edited the tat (adding and deleting details) regardless of the vague details that I entered in the submission form.  She never made me feel like the form was set in stone.For the sale, I asked the same questions multiple times because she would respond without answering my question. When I asked about possible edits, she cited what I'd written in the submission form as if details couldn't be changed prior to the appt.  She explained that details of the tat were limited because of a time restriction. That was fine with me. However, when I saw that she was careless in answering my questions and reluctant to edit the tat with me, I didn't want to continue with this process.  The non refund policy was also fine, but I thought I'd request one anyway. I agree that communication is key in these matters , but doing "23 other appointments" in 1 day could affect anyone's ability to do so successfully. Read Less

Virtual consultation went very well. Jackie was able to take from my inspiration and turn into her own concept. I am very pleased with my piece. After she was done, I wanted a bit more work md she was able to free style a few of the flowers. I love that she is experienced in tattooing ethnic skin. If you aren't into the pain of ink, I highly suggest investing in the numbing cream. The shop is clean, and pretty (in pink). The artist is on time, personable and we held a good conversation. Jackie at Pretty In Ink Tattoos is a tattoo BOSS!!! She is an incredible artist, and  has a great system set up for everything from getting information to letting her know what your ideas are to actually making your appointment. She is very professional and really about her business and giving her clients the best service possible. When you are in her chair being tattooed you have her undivided attention, no whole bunch of breaks, talking on the phone or consulting with walk-ins.
