Dave  ( the owner) started tattooing me a few years ago at another shop he worked at, his line work and use of color was impeccable and he's a super cool guy which led to us becoming friends. I've always passed out his cards and still do today because people always ask where I've gotten my work done, so as soon as he opened the doors at Southside I went got some new work done there and got new cards to give out. Dave has sleeved my left leg from knee to ankle and we are currently in the process of sleeving my right arm and chest, people are always asking me where I got my work done and asking if it is new, lol, which it isn't, it's just an example of how beautiful Dave's line work is and and his ability to take anyone's vision and make it a reality on their skin. The rest of Dave's staff are also very talented and their books prove it, everyone is extremely friendly and helpful and takes the time to help make each persons tattoo become one they can be proud of. I had a previous tattoo appointment scheduled, I had heard through the grapevine this was the shop to go to and I'm more than impressed. @John_Pennigton (sorry if your shout out doesn't link properly) did an impeccable job. The shop is clean as a whistle and the personnel are friendly and attentive. Yeah, thanks for making it even harder for me as a black person to navigate racists. Thank you sooo much for making it easier for these racists to hide themselves. Ever stop to think they just want the tats removed so they can get a job? Why not do it for former gang members as well? Think someone is less than human because they aren't white isn't a mistake. Me for instance...went as a model to cover my whole back, but now have a 15x15 cm undone crippled line of a skull covering my lover back. I haven't been swimming since the day I made it. I had my tattoo on my foot done here before but I am writing about my septum piercing I had done yesterday. In a spontaneous effort to avoid 695 highway traffic, I called the tattoo shop to see if there was room for 1 nose piercing for my friend. Although the shop's piercer had a tattoo appointment he made time for both of us. Dave, the owner, has the most GENTLE hands!!! My friend made me go first and I did not feel any pain. My nose has never looked so sophisticated and the piercing was done perfectly. Dave made it easy to relax and have an enjoyable conversation. He definitely was knowledgeable about the whole process. I visit the shop on last Saturday this is really a great place, the owner did a cover up tattoo for me with a owl removing my ex name. Man he saved my life just through a simple tattoo. People never know what is going on in your internal but anyway "you saved my life" the music is awesome and the shop is very clean.
