I have no experience with the tattooing side of this, but the piercer is TERRIBLE. I got my nose piercing changed to a hoop there. Without telling me beforehand, the girl tried to use a 14g hoop. She only stopped after I was bleeding and crying. She went down to a 16g, but less than a week after the ball that kept it screwed together came loose. I tried to give the piercer a second chance this weekend because I wanted another ear piercing. The same girl was the one who pierced me. The earring posts were way too short and were easily a 16 or 14g. I had to take them out after less than a week because my ears were throbbing because the post was too short to accommodate for swelling. Honestly, I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Don't go here if you're looking for a legitimate piercing shop. :( Read Less

I came to Mr. B's because I was having an issue with my nose piercing done at another shop. I've been here before but of course I read reviews before choosing a shop. Mr. B's is always spotless! I walked in and was greeted by a super professional young lady who ended up being my piercer, the wonderful Donna!! She educated me on the placement of my piercing and even reaffirmed some of my initial reasons why I wanted to come in. Donna was AMAZING piercing my toddler's ears. My little one kept moving her head and Donna was so very patient and made sure marks were even. After the 2nd piercing my little one was getting very agitated and kept refusing to let Donna get the earring in and Donna didn't let it phase her a bit, she stayed completely calm and sweet. Finally I had to help my little one keep her head still and Donna got that earring in so quickly and my toddler was instantly happy and smiling again like nothing ever happened. Read Less

Went to Mr. B's today to have my nose stud changed to a hoop. I'm still new to the gauge levels and was unaware at the time that Donna was shoving a 16 gauge hoop (meant for an ear) through my 18 gauge hole (so it was way bigger than what was supposed to go in it). My 8yr old daughter got her ears pierced here. The staff was AWESOME! She was really nervous so they explained everything and were super nice & patient. They had 2 people working so they did both her ears at the same time. Equipment & room very clean, staff very professional. Her friends that had their ears done at the mall have dealt with infections but we haven't had any problems at all in past 2 months. I highly reccomend Mr.B's for younger kids ear piercings. I've had my ears pierced five times and all at different places. I decided to go to Mr. B's for my most recent two ear piercings. A young blond girl who looked to be just 18 did my double cartilage piercing. The piercing process itself was normal and what i was used to, but my piercings were infected just the day after i got them pierced. I continued to clean them and changed all other earrings in my ears to be sterling silver so that there was noreason for infection to occur. It has now been about a month since i got them pierced and they are both very sensitive. The upper piercing is forming a bump on the back and both are still infected. Given the fact that i have never had any complications with other piercings before and the fact that my friend also had trouble healing her piercings from Mr.B's, I am drawn to the conclusion that their piercings are unsterile or not truly sterling silver. I would not recommend Mr.B's for piercings unless you want to deal with issues. Read Less

They also have a decent sized selection of jewelry available for purchase. Go there for ear piercing!! Donna is fantastic!!! So, my teenage daughter needed to get her ears repierced. Seven years ago, we had the misfortune of going to Claire's to get it done. Using a "gun" 2 clerks made a pierce on each lobe, but they were uneven. So, she wore earrings for about 1 yr & was unhappy with them. The piercings closed up. She was ready to try again. She did the research - looking online and speaking to friends. Mr. B's was the place to go. Donna greeted us, as we walked in, and instantly we knew we'd be in good hands. She was VERY knowledgeable and debunked what we thought should have been done. Donna explained the differences between using a "gun" and a needle - needle is the way to go. My daughter picked out a pair of diamond-like studs - adorable, yet she was nervous. Donna put my edgy daughter at ease and easily did the 2 piercings - quick and efficient. Would highly recommend for piercings!!! Got my septum pierced by Donna and I am really satisfied with the service. I am not from the Baltimore area and I was looking for a place I could easily get a walk-in piercing. I decided on Mr. B's because the first place we went to, the piercer was not there that day. Me and my friend came in for piercings tonight. I got my upper lobes and my conch pierced and my friend got her nose pierced. The process was overall quick and painless well, minus the piercings of course. We got pierced by Donna. She made sure she marked where we wanted it and gave us her own opinions on placement which was very nice. She gave us some sea salt and thoroughly explained the aftercare instructions. Awesome experience! We took our 8 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced for the first time. Donna was great with her, she even offered to have another piercer, Jay, to do the other ear at the same time, to make it more comfortable. Everything was super clean, and they sterilized the new earrings in an autoclave. I wish I could say something good because I have been going her since their old location but bad experience this time. I had a tattoo done yesterday and everything was fine I was very pleased until I noticed that one of my t's on a word wasn't crossed. So i went back in today and the person who tattooed me wasn't in and won't be back until Thursday. Now okay we are talking about one line through a t and i was told i would be charged $80 if someone else did it when i was just ...there. Okay not, and then didn't even try and contact the artist to see what he would do. So basically walk around for a few days with a word looking all weird. Not good business at all like i said i have had multiple tattoos here and now I don't i will be returning for future ones. I went to Mr. B's to have my philtrum pierced as well as have my dermal checked because it was beginning to reject. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon with two piercings in mind: either a septum or a triple forward helix. Al was professional patient and took at least 20 minutes or more to answer all of my questions about each piercing thoroughly. I did not feel rushed to make a decision. After contemplating, I decided on my septum. I liked that the shop was quiet with no loud music or conversations (this has bothered me at other shops). A few months ago I went to a piercing shop that will not be named and got a piercing "down there". The girl who pierced me said she was very experienced but pierced me with too small of a gauge and bar. It started to sink into my skin and was rubbing a very sensitive area raw. I was recommended Mr. B's from a friend and made an emergency trip to see AL to have it looked at. He checked me out and with some pain and discomfort (mainly becuse of the area and soreness) he gauged up my piercing to the correct gauge and bar and handed me the little one she placed in me and said, " I'm sorry but she should have not done that to you! Honestly, if i was you, you should take that to her and tell her to shove it up her a**!" Lmao. His personality is awesome. He said it was no charge for correcting poor work. I thanked him and tipped him nicely. My piercing healed up like it should have and I was so happy with it that I stopped in again to get my smiley done. I love it. It was a bit awkward holding my lip up but he pierced me quickly and with ease. He put a horseshoe shaped bar, but it was swinging, irritsting my gums ans teeth. A few days later I wen back and had it replaced to a circle. Which was again on the house. I tipped him for his work. I like this a lot better.I highly recommend Al! I've contemplating getting my nose pierced for the last year and final thought one weekend, "what the heck, I'll do it."  I did a little research and came across Mr. B's in the Baltimore area.  Because I'm a yelper, I did some searching and thought this place might be fine.  I also searched the DC area and obviously found reviews that were much better but the idea of driving out of my way for a nose piercing may not be necessary.  I thought, "who could mess up a nose piercing."  So I decided to go with Mr. B's to get a needle stuck in my nose.  I specifically asked for Al based on the yelp reviews and he set me up for my piercing.  The waiver was given to me with no details so I just read through it and signed.  I went back to the piercing area and it was quick and simple with a temporary sharp pain.  The care instructions I was given were very vague so I asked a few questions.  I went home to do my own research for care.  After a few days of having my nose pierced, I noticed the stud was starting to sink into my nose.  The next day it was completely embedded into my skin.  I panicked and called the shop.  Upon arrival, he just stated that I was sleeping on it.  I don't sleep on my nose but ok, whatever.  He decided to replace it with a different stud.  I read this could be risk but I went with it and ensured I took the proper steps to care for the piercing.  It's been 4 weeks now and my piercing is doing well.  I always clean my piercing at least 2 times per day and purchased extra salt to continue caring for it.  I also ordered the H2Ocean spray because I heard it helps with healing.  I am pleased to say it was a great purchase.  Overall, my experience at Mr. Bs was ok.  Al was nice, didn't say much but he made sure I was ok as he walked me through the piercing process.  I think I will go elsewhere to get my nose ring changed. Went here on a whim a few years ago for a tattoo. I have a lot of tattoos (10 or 11) and this is the only shop I've been to where my skin/tattoo has welted after the tattoo. I'm not sure if the artist I went to had a heavier hand than the other artists I've seen, but my tattoo was really small and I've never had that happen to me before. I decided to try Mr. B's for my next tattoo because I wanted to go someplace local.  This is right up the street.  I walked in on a Sunday and Jay decided he would take me.  Apparently they were rather booked, but he had a cancellation and squeezed me in, I just had to go back in about an hour.  I was getting a small set of paw prints on my arm near my wrist.  He quoted me $80-$120 depending on the size and I agreed.  I showed up an hour later and admittedly had a rather long wait time.  He finally showed me the prints, I agreed on a smaller size and we were set.  I should have confirmed price before he actually started tattooing, but it slipped my mind.  He finished my tattoo in 20 minutes and I was thrilled.  Until I walked up to the counter and he charged me $150.  I was so caught off guard, I just stood there for a second and couldn't even think straight.  Rather than getting into a confrontation, I just paid it.  Four months later this still bothers me.  My tattoo was so small (and all black) that I expected it to be closer to the $80 I was quoted - instead I paid nearly double.  The size I agreed on was even SMALLER than what he had originally drawn up for me.  Live and learn - ALWAYS confirm price after design is agreed on and before tattooing starts.  This was my fifth tattoo though and I'd never had the price nearly double after being quoted something, so I just thought he'd stick to his original price.  I honestly am still undecided if I will return here for my next tattoo.  My husband already said he will not as he felt I was ripped off. I decided to get my nose pierced on a whim today and I wanted to try somewhere close to where I live in downtown Baltimore. I walked into 2 different places nearby and at both, the piercer wasn't there and the prices were abnormally high. So I went ahead and drove a couple of extra miles for Mr. B's.Not only did Al do a fabulous job at making sure my piercing was exactly the way I wanted it and explaining the necessary after-care, but I was in and out super fast! My daughter has wanted pierced ears for over a year now. After researching needles v. piercing guns, it was an easy decision to go with the needle. The hard part was finding a shop and piercer who was legally allowed and comfortable with children. My husband found a Baltimore Sun article about Al and Mr.B's piercing a child's ears so we decided to make a day of it. When I called, Mr. Al was very thorough and answered all my questions before I even asked them. He even wanted to know if she had asked to get her ears pierced.  I felt very confident after speaking with Al.After a trip to the zoo (about 20 min away, so if you're coming from far away like us it's a fun day!) we went to Mr. B's. Al has a really great way with children, she got to pick gold or silver studs and we went right back to the chair. Everything was very clean, 2 single use needles, gloves, chair, etc. Al gave my daughter her own gloves so she could "help." He had her hold corks and things he might need to help take her mind off things. I can't say how great he was with kids! The actual piercing was very quick and Al measured to ensure everything was even. We were all done with no tears and a very happy, beautiful girl with new accessories. Al gave her a cup and sea salt for after care and made sure if we ever have any issues to come back. He will even change her earrings if we want him to. The price was much better than other shops we called too. Then to celebrate, we got ice cream across the street.It's been 3 days now and my daughter has not had a single complaint about her ears hurting. We are all so happy we got her ears pierced here! Great place to get pierced. I called and got quoted $40 for a cartilage piercing so I went to the shop to get it done. I had been kept waiting a few minutes in the lobby because there were others in front of me..no big deal, I didn't mind it but when the piercer came out he lowered the price because of the fact I had to wait.      When I had got back to the piercing room my heart was beating fast as it always does when I get a new piercing, but he was great. He did not dilly dally when it came to putting the needle through, he told me when and then put it through with hardly any pain.     My price was for the jewelry, after care and to come back and get it changed. My sister and I came here on a Sunday to get matching tattoos. The staff was super nice and friendly except the guy at the front desk he wasn't very friendly but I commented on it and he joked about it, he was cool. We got our tatts done by John. He is super cool, did a great job. We love our tatts. Two negative things to say:1-We paid 120 each for a 15 minute tattoo. He did a great job but I think the tatt was over priced. I don't think we should have paid over $100, if that. 2-The tattoo I original asked for, the words: "I am my sister's keeper" in the shape of an infinity sign, John said he couldn't do it or it would be really big. Maybe he misunderstood what I wanted but after I left I googled it and there are plenty of regular sized similar tattoos. So I would def. recommend bringing or showing a picture of what you want. I got a piercing here and the place was wonderful. The outside of the building looks suspicious and kind of discouraging, but when I walked in, they had their port folios sitting out for anyone to flick through, and the back room where I got my piercing done smelled clean (like bleach). I almost fainted when the piercing was done because I got myself worked up over it and when I sat down to calm myself they gave me some candy and a glass of water. I talked to the tattoo artist here, and he said if he doesn't believe he will do a good job on what you're asking for, he isn't going to tattoo you. He wants you to be happy more than he wants the money. I am most certainly coming here to get a tattoo next.When my piercing is healed Al has promised to change it out for free if I am too nervous to do it myself (I have to supply my own piercings to change into, obviously). Do NOT go to Mr.B's. I called and made an appt. for 530pm, and arrived about 15 mins. early for my appt. No mention was made of them running late when we arrived. We waited for about 20-30 mins, and I asked how far behind they were running. The owner went back and checked. He came back out and said that it would be at least another 1-1 1/2 hours. I said that I would come back, he suggested that I call first. After an hour, I called back (it was about 645). He said that he could still get me in, but not til about 730-800pm. I said that I would come back, if I could get him locked in a definite price (seeing how my appt had come and gone by over 2 hrs by that point, a discount or a fixed price should have been OFFERED to me). Within 2 mins of the OWNER telling me that I would 'definItely be able to get' my 'tattoo today', all of a sudden they don't have time for me at all. This place not only lost my business for one day, they lost A LOT of future business as well. It's a shame they don't know a good customer when they see one. I am not the youngest or best looking customer they have ever had that's for sure. The guys there treated me great. I explained what I wanted and they came up with the perfect image. The respect I was shown was unbelievable. Everyone there was great and very understanding. I explained to them this was in memorial of my niece and they handled everything perfectly.
