This is now my go to tattoo place and I live in DC. Jon did a great job on me tattoo, and also fixing up a tattoo I had. The first tattoo he combined two fonts that I liked, and completely redid a tattoo I got a deep cut through years after that tattoo. Very honest and up front about the cost. Great customer service, and bedside manner. He made sure I was comfortable, and happy. Also my right foot keep twitching on a certain part of my ankle tattoo and he handle it very well. Two weeks ago, I received a whale tattoo from guest artist Gerald Ramos. The tattoo is beautiful, healed well, and is my favorite one to date. The experience was great too — I enjoyed the refined atmosphere, and was comfortable through the duration of the procedure. Gerald was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and Dee was great to talk to as well. Coming to Dark Horse for Jon was incredibly worth it! I actually had been looking for a long time for a place to get my next tattoo, so had been following J on his instagram account for a bit before this appointment. He was so flexible and patient with our design ideas, placement, and questions. The session was very comfortable and his line work is ace! Mannnnnn, this is the only shop I go to now. The service is excellent and very professional. Dee Sanchez has done two tattoos before my last visit and as always he is on point with his preparation and setup. His work just keeps getting better and better. I have been to The Darkhorse Gallery 3 times and I love the artists there. Jon has done 2 tattoos for me and he's the absolute best; so patient, kind, accommodating, and fast. Best shop I've ever been to. I literally had a tattoo that could have been on that show tattoo nightmares. Dee covered it up with a portrait of my dog and it looks so good! I like the staff here. Mainly because they all seem to get along and joke around a lot. That always makes me feel comfortable. This place is clean and the decor is pretty sweet. I called to schedule a consultation with Deesanchez and was able to come in that same day which was great! My boyfriend, his sister and I (all potential customers) took that drive up to Bmore for the appt. We allowed adequate time (should've been early) to get there, but we are not from the Bmore area and had no idea how downtown traffic can be when there's an event going on. So unfortunately we arrived 20 min late for the consultation. I understand that it is a inconvenience... when clients are late but when I explained to him what happened and we're not from the area he was extremely rude about it! I would've been fine with him "politely" declining to see me and rescheduling the appt to another day but no he was VERY RUDE with no respect at all. He proceeded to still get information from me and kept saying "if I choose to work with you" or "I don't even know if I'm going to do it" (very arrogant and cocky)! Once I explained that I had a tattoo that I wanted to cover up. He said I ain't doing that why would you think I would do a cover? You don't see me doing cover ups on instagram do you? Humble urself dude being a lil nice goes a long way especially when ur customers are prepared to pay a $1000+ for your artwork. Your work is great but your business would be nothing without your customers act like you appreciate that they even chose you! Customer service is the key. Without a doubt one of the best experiences I've ever had getting a tattoo. From first entering the door place is very clean, very welcoming and ready to get down to business Dee did a portrait of my daughter and son.
