I went here for a navel ring and ended up with a 6mm piercing, which is way too short and not the standard size piercing. There is no space whatsoever between my belly button and the top ball, when their should be some skin in between. So anytime I try to buy jewelry, they all end up being way too long. My very first tattoo and it was a great experience! Ben D worked with me and helped me with my custom design and I absolutely love how it turned out. He was awesome to work with. He explained everything I needed to know, told me I could take breaks whenever I wanted, and gave me a badass tattoo that I'm proud of. Boyfriend got one as well, Lirette did his. She's awesome. She's not as talkative as Ben but she's crazy talented. The parlor is clean. They are really careful about contamination. If you're wanting anything custom or altered, I recommend booking an appointment and communicating with them beforehand so you don't have to wait and you don't annoy the person that's about to stab you repeatedly lol. Scott helped me achieve a vision I have had in my head for a year. He puts the artist in "tattoo artist". I took my own graphics and a vision, explained what I was going for, and drew up the most bad ass forearm tat have ever seen in under 15 minutes. It was like he was in my head and knew what I needed even more than I did. We only had time to finish the outline, and I have an appointment in a couple weeks to let him finish our vision that sums up this chapter of my life, and I'm totally psyched about it. Notice I keep using the word vision, because it means more to me than a "tattoo". I mean no disrespect towards someone who gets a skull because it looks cool, to each their own, and tats are fun to get. However, this is a piece of art that means more to me than that, and Scott understood this in the first 10 seconds of talking to him, and he is striving to  make this piece of art something that will be healing to me every time look at it. On top of that, he is very vocal about the fact that he is ecstatic about enjoying himself while creating this. In other words, he is having fun, in his words, and is just as excited as me to finish this. So, in conclusion, if you are looking for someone who will enjoy helping you find closure through a tattoo that actually says something, this is the man, and the shop, for you. I will include a pic after we have the finished product. I'm so proud of it, and more importantly, he is proud of it. That says so much about an artist. I had been looking for a shop that does piercings and Becca (who is the piercer) was the first person to greet me ( I took it as a sign ) when I walked in. My krewe and I decided to try Mid-City Voodoux Tattoo for our traditional Friday the 13th shenanigans. We arrived early and parked our chairs out front until they opened. We brought food, coloring books and phone chargers because you never know how long a wait it will be. A rental truck showed up with benches to go inside and out, owners/tattoo artists showed up right behind them and flash sheets with rules went up in the windows by 11:30. The doors opened at noon and nothing could hold us back at that point. The inside was clean and comfy. EVERYONE working this event was just as excited as we were and really went out of their way to make our experience fantastic. There were 4 in my krewe getting tats on Friday. Since we were first in line, and because the staff was extremely organized, we were in and out in just under an hour!! There was plenty of free parking nearby, I even parked right in front. Absolutely adored the crew here... went in as a walk in for an anklet rosary tattoo and was absolutely not disappointed. Scott is so sweet, and did an incredible job! Lines are clean and crisp and he's very light handed, something that's a must for me! I enjoyed the conversation we had and the entire process from start to finish was comfortable and easy. Love Love Love this shop, so clean and professional. The entire staff is friendly and the shop is in great condition. Parking around the corner was easy, and there's a Walgreens next door so you can grab some snacks or a drink beforehand or while they're drawing the stencils. My boyfriend, best friend and I all got tattoos done here on the same day. The tattoo healed terribly. They were both done by 2 different artist. They seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. The tattoo are low quality, and over priced. Now that we have other tattoos we understand how bad they messed up our first tattoos. Read Less

This was awesome! My friends and I came in on a Tuesday just poking around wondering about prices. JuJu was more than helpful and friendly! He gave us ranges and tips. All of the artist are very knowledgeable and are great at customizing ideas. We came back on Friday and got our tattoos. My tattoo was done by Edward he's awesome!! I got a quote just under my collarbone. He helped me find a font similar to a picture  i showed him. He got me started quickly and finished in a flash, and it didn't even hurt too bad. I booked an appointment while I was in New Orleans on a trip. All of the artists had great portfolios but I ended up choosing Richard. This was my second tattoo and I was pretty nervous about it because it is a portrait of my dog with some decorative flowers, which can often be difficult to execute, even with an amazing artist. I'm still in the healing process but I can honestly say that I love my tattoo. Richard was kind and even incorporated my own artwork into the design. He took the time to work with me on creating exactly what I wanted, even confirming the exact colors of the flowers. He really took his time to create a spectacular piece. The price quoted was really fair, especially for the effort that went into my tattoo. The shop itself is very sanitary and all of the artists I encountered were very friendly. We went in for simple small tattoos on me and my husband- as the first in a collage that will grow and grow.  We didn't even have a solid plan- but the artists were patient and together we came up with the perfect designs! This review is for piercing only. The place was very professional and clean. The people were awesome (which is why it's getting 3 stars). However..... I took my daughter to get her ears pierced for the first time. She was scared but brave! I deiced on a professional piercer over a gun for many reasons. I heard they were straighter, less pain, healed better and less problems over all. Sadly, none of these things were true for us. The piercer, Ginger, was nice enough but def not for kids. They had no choices for earrings. Ginger did not do anything to make sure the earrings were even except via eyes. I should have walked out then. She took a long time getting the earrings in and the needles were in the ear a long time. She had a very hard time securing the earrings. Overall I feel she caused way more pain than she should have. My daughter was in so much pain after, it took her a couple hours for it to dull. She told every one never to get their ears pierced again. Worst of all there were no instructions for aftercare. The website had a little more info but not much. I called when her ears became inflamed. it was because the earrings weren't in straight and were too tight causing that!  I did get a little more info on cleaning them thank goodness but it should have been given to me on a paper to take home. However, emails (because I had questions when they were closed) went unanswered. I'm angry and disappointed. We have dealt with infections, irritation, her piercings are not straight and one of the earrings they put in, fell out after 4 weeks! This place is definitely not for taking your child to get their first piercing or anyone getting a first piercing. Read Less

A few things to note-1) this was my first tattoo, and;2) I found this place on Yelp!Scott greeted me when I came in, listened to every detail of the artwork I had in mind (a tribute to Peyton Manning) and sketched up exactly what I had been envisioning for 10+ years.The tattoo itself took about 25 minutes, and Scott was super chill about me cracking jokes, and letting my friends watch/hold my hand. It did hurt, but was totally worth it.We are about 80 hours out from the tattoo now, and it is perfect. Very professional, very clean.  I went in last night on a whim, after wanting a specific (but simple) tattoo for many years.  I was greeted warmly, there was plenty of reading material while I waited, and a TV to watch.  The staff asked me to fill out some paperwork and called in a relief tattoo artist as their person scheduled had a large piece he was working on.  There was one guy in front of me, so all total, I probably waited a little over an hour. In choosing the font for my tattoo, the artist helped me pick something that wouldn't bleed and would withstand time and still be legible.  We worked together on placement.  It was really great customer service and made me feel totally at ease!My artist was Ben and he was kind, conversational, and informative.  While it wasn't my first tattoo, my only other one was from years ago, so Ben was patient and walked me through everything.  His work station was orderly, with sketches of other awesome tattoosI think I may have caught the bug after this tattoo and will definitely go back here!
