Jordan did 2 works of art for us tonight. I searched high and low for an artist that I thought could capture the meanings of the tats that I wanted and 1 that my wife wanted. Hers is absolutely AMAZING!!! Gave him the story last night in an email and he just ROCKED IT!!! He had been researching mine for about a month presented it to me tonight. He had some questions we did some tweaking and OMG he freaking ROCKED IT!!! GREAT ARTIST!!!! Comfortable setting the music was awesome but the best part was Jordon was super gentle made us very comfortable and the pain was minimal. Did I happen to mention prices were reasonable? I had Jimmy to greet me as I walked in to schedule my large rib tattoo. It's slower in the summer so I was able to schedule pretty easily. He was good at talking through my design, size, shading, etc which made me feel comfortable. He's a no bullshit type of guy, he'll make sure that you both are on the same page so that there are no misunderstandings and mistakes. Really great artist, cooperative with him in the chair and he might surprise you with an early release no parole. My rib tattoo was going to hurt like hell regardless, but his hand was still lighter than heavier. I've recommended him to a couple of my friends who've been contemplating their first tattoo. This is a great spot on Freret as well (get dat dog when you're done). I came by one day just to take a look at the shop and spontaneously asked Alex about fixing up a tattoo I already had within the 10 minutes that I looked around. We had an appointment set up days later and I came to him with an idea I had a day before and he made that idea come to a reality. a friend had heard good things, so I walked in for a simple cover-up and cornbread was able to take me right away. he did exactly what I wanted, and was the gentlest, most thorough tattooist I've been inked by yet. even though I got a large solid patch of black on a bony area, the healing has been the easiest, least sore I've ever experienced. the folks here are welcoming and down-to-earth, without any of the bullshit snobby attitude I've experienced at some other spots in town. First of all, let me begin by stating that Abracadabra will become a Freret St staple. They have only been open for a couple of months, but there location, talented staff, clean and artistic enriched environment will have people flooding this tasteful and comfy lounge area. I spent a month researching where to get a tattoo and had a couple of places in mind, but during a stop at Mojo's I stepped in and am glad I did. Adam, my tattoo artist, spoke with us personally and showed a genuine interest in mine and my wife's tattoo idea. After a couple of days I booked a time to see him. My wife had drawn out an amazing tattoo, and while many parlors would have just copied and stenciled it, Adam took from my wife's drawing and added more of this and that and created something we both were proud of.The price was fair and reasonable and the artwork was stellar.
