The piercer Red deserves 5 stars! I got all my piercings with him and he’s incredibly informative, personable, and enthusiastic about what he does. But it seems he’s the reason for almost all the 5-star reviews, so about the tats..... I got my first tattoo from Kitty and she did a really amazing job, although it was a pretty simple tattoo and took maybe 10 minutes, but I took my friend there for her first tattoo and she totally lost our service. She made us very uncomfortable and refused to do “small lettering”, and then complained about having to do a “big” tattoo when I explained that one letter would be bigger than the others. The sizes were negotiable but she was nooot working with us. The place was supposed to be open for another hour and a half, there was no one else there, and we both wanted a 6-letter word. My friend went in hoping for some creative advice but when she wasn’t sure exactly how she wanted the word styled home girl was more annoyed at her than helpful. No guidance or patience. My friend was super relieved when I said we would not be getting them. If you want a good tattoo experience you may want to bring your business elsewhere! But for the piercings... you go Red. I got my helix pierced by Red a while ago. Honestly, i‎t wasn’t a bad experience getting i‎t done. However, I didn’t notice until later that he pierced i‎t at an extreme angle. I later went to a more experienced piercer in New Orleans to get it looked at (I didn’t trust this place to look at i‎t) because I was concerned and he told me to take out the piercing IMMEDIATELY. He said that Red had “butchered” my piercing. So I paid $60 only to have to take my piercing out because of the horrible job that was done. First, I came to Deja Vu for a piercing one year ago because on their website, they described the proper process for sterilizing the jewelry for a piercing. Then, when I got to the shop, the piercer was very professional and explained every step of the process. I came in for one piercing but I ended up getting six piercings in one to two months. After those good experiences, I've gone back many times for more jewelry and five more piercings. I highly recommend this piercer. I got my helix pierced here the other night and it was a completely fantastic experience. They fully explained everything, which made me feel very comfortable. The piercer was calm and extremely skilled and I would never want to go to a dif piercer ever again. I wish I could even comment on the quality of work at this location but I cannot. My daughter (a satisfied multiple time customer) and I went in for matching tattoos. After waiting for 45 minutes, we were greeted by the most unhelpful employee. We explained what we were wanting, showed an example picture. Initially we were quoted an insane price by the hour, which I've never encountered before, and my daughter had never encountered before at this exact location. When we ...asked what we could do to simplify it to make it a bit more affordable, she said it was already very simple (which doesn't explain the $300 price quote we were given). The picture had Roman numerals in it and she kept saying that it would have to be huge to be able to read them. So we asked for other options, she continuously repeated that it couldn't be small because it would bleed into one another. We since found other tattoos with Roman numerals of the same size we were looking for with no bleeding issue. I was tattooed by Kitty yesterday.  She is an absolutely AMAZING artist.  She took a mediocre picture and turned it into a very colorful and detailed design.  The shop is VERY clean and the atmosphere is very comfortable.  I was impressed Kitty even used a face mask to provide the most sterile environment possible.  The shop is designed in a way that makes you feel like you are walking into a salon. I got a piercing here after visiting a couple of places. I'm glad I went with this shop, not only were they very professional the shop was very clean. After receiving my piercing I went back and had it checked Red(piercer) was very knowledgeable and even help me change my piercing he didn't charge me to do it. A couple weeks later I needed to do an x-ray and didn't want to take out my piercings, so he gave me a new plastic rings and didn't charge me for them. I have been here many times and I am always happy with my experience.  The shop is incredibly clean and professional. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and spend time consulting with you about your tattoo (qualities I think one should look for in their tattoo artists).  Markus Bankhead has given me two tattoos and I am incredibly happy about both of them.  Both times, I brought in a concept of what I wanted and he basically walked me through how he would take my crappy concept and make it infinitely more bada**.  If I didn't have to move from BR, I probably would call this my "home shop."  I am still researching ways to move entire buildings across the United States... but until then DEFINITELY go to Deja Vu.
