I have been following Gary since he worked at Louisville tattoo Company. He fixed my first tattoo and I made a decision to never see anyone else again. When he went to Liberty Tattoo I was unable to find him and went five years without a tattoo because I refused to go to someone else. I can't say for sure it was them but that was the only skin break I had and since I live alone I didn't have any skin to skin contact with anyone during that time. Like a lot of people, I visited many shops before choosing an artist I felt comfortable with letting mark my body permanently. Liberty stood out boldly among all of the places I checked out and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I've gone to Gary for both of my tattoos and both times I've been very satisfied with his work as an artist, cleanliness, fair pricing, and professionalism. He even let me interview him for a paper I was writing during my first tattoo. I learned a lot about him and he's a real solid guy. My first piece was a white ink tattoo on my finger. He warned that it could fade very easily because of the white ink and the placement. I definitely valued his honesty about this, but went ahead and got it. I've gotten it touched up once (for free) since he first put it on me two years ago and it still looks great.The second piece he did for me was a very intricate design on my thigh with lots of line work. Once again, he did a great job and I often get compliments on how good it looks. The shop itself is super neat- filled with lots of local art for sale. The last time I was there, they had some clothing with the Liberty logo design on it. Very clean and professional establishment. Gary has a great old school style. You can come to him with a design idea and he will draw you something better than imagined. His hand is light and his tattoos heal quickly as long as you take care of it. His wife Suzanne makes you feel comfortable and is a wonderful artist herself. She's working on a design for me right now. I can't say enough about this place. Not only can you get a great tattoo but you can also view art from local artists and it changes constantly.
