I went here to get my belly button pierced. I am giving this place a 1 because the piercing was done well, and it has not gotten infected two months in so far. However, The man with the beard and hat is the one who did my piercing and he was rude and unfriendly. I felt so rushed the entire time, and when I would ask questions he acted genuinely annoyed by me. I don't want to have to go home and google my questions when I can ask the professional at the shop, and he made me feel dumb for asking them. The best part is, there was no one else in line and when I was pulling out of the parking lot I just see him taking a smoke break. Really? That's what you were rushing for? I don't know about everyone else, but when I went in for the piercing I was nervous. Nervous about the pain, nervous about how to properly take care of it, etc. That being said, the last thing I needed on top of my nervousness was to be treated so poorly.  I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I got my nipples pierced by Doc on Feb 15th, the atmosphere in the shop was fine, they didn't seem overly busy and I was attended to quickly.Doc was kind, informed me about aftercare, and calmed me down during my piercing, reminding me to breathe, etc.I was very happy with my piercings, I was excited to check them out as soon as I was out of the chair, but I had noticed that one nipple seemed a bit deeper than the other, I chalked it up to swelling.Fast forward 2 weeks later I am back to get a longer bar in the deeper pierced nipple, Doc had inserted a bar too short and the swelling wouldn't go down and it was painful and irritated. The other piercer at the shop happily changed the bar for me and informed me to come in if I needed anything else.It has only been 3 days since I've changed my bar for a longer one and sadly, I should have honestly just taken it out that day. My nipple was pierced too deep and I'm very unhappy with it. Overall my experience was good with Artfully Insane, and I am happy, but only with one piercing. The price for both was $60, which is affordable and a good price but sadly I'm ending up with only 1 piercing when I originally had 2. The shop seems knowledgeable and I would recommend it, but please voice your concerns before you get pierced, check your piercer's placement, and make sure you're happy with what you get done before leaving the shop. Went in for a tragus piercing. Had many problems before resulting in pain, swelling, etc from another tattoo place. Per recommendations, went in to see Doc. Wow! TOTAL opposite experience this time. Got my nose pierced, I'm 15 about to be 16 and came I in with my mother, she signed the concent form. When I went back Doc talked to me about cleaning, not to listen to online posts, and what NOT to do, my pain tolerance is very low so i rate it a like 5 or 6/10 but really its different for everyone. He did great, told me to breathe and close my eyes so I didn't mess up my eye makeup lol. After he put the jewelry I got extremely dizzy, so he let me sit there for a bit till I felt better. I'm assuming I got dizzy from blood rush to my head, no idea. Yeah so this is awkward bc I never leave poor reviews but here's what I have to say -My two friends and I walked in and the receptionist was incredibly rude & snappy with us, because as SOON as we walked in she asked us what we wanted, and we explained we hadn't made up our minds just yet and just got there. We were in literally no rush at all. So she said "Well I'm gonna need you to figure out what you're doing and THEN come to me", but we literally didn't initiate conversation, she did.Also -My tattoo is beautiful. My artist was very professional and kind, and he did a beautiful job, he didn't give me his name or really talk to me but he has long hair - to explain which he is.My friend however, spoke with Nat (a tattoo artist there) about several different options for tattoos and Nat kept saying they were too small and detailed but swore she specialized in line work...... so my friend settled for Roman numerals and Nat made them as large as she was comfortable with but the linework wasn't exactly anything significant....it was average for sure. The lines are kind of foggy and uneven. I just wouldn't recommend this place bc of the shitty service & chance of shitty work. I just wouldn't go there again. True to the reviews the staff was extremely helpful and friendly but once I showed them what I wanted I was placed in sticker shock over their pricing. I've had a couple of tattoos in the past so I had an idea of what I should pay for what I wanted but after I was told what their pricing was like I've decided to look elsewhere to get what I want done. The artists here are very very sweet, cool, and welcoming. They welcome walk-ins and are willing to talk you through the process before comitting. It was very obvious that this was my first tattoo and I was very nervous; one gentleman was willing to sit with me and talk about random things to calm me down. My tattoo artist, Travis, I believe, was very calm and confident... which made me calm. This man knew what he was doing. While his office wasnt the most tidy, his work area and tools were well taken care of and clean. When we he was done he went over with me a few times, without acting like it was tedious, how to take care of my new tattoo. It was a great experience and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. The ONLY reason I'm giving four stars is because I don't think they were listening when i said i wanted my tattoo dark brown to the point if almost being black; they gave me black. Based on another review from a parent I just called ahead to see about getting my daughter's ear pierced. The lady on the phone asked how old she was and then said that they have to be able to talk and to ask to have their ears pierced. My daughter is 2 and a half and has been asking for it for 3 months. When I told her she would be able to ask for her ears pierced she said that they wouldn't pierce her ears because of her age. If that's the case, that should be stated outright then. Landed here based on tons of other five star reviews for piercing my child's ears.  She has been wanting them pierced for nearly two years but there was no way I was going to have it done by an amateur with shoddy equipment such as what you would get at "Claire's".  We read tons about this guy "Doc" here at Artfully Insane who's been piercing for the better part of 40 years.  I can't say enough good about him and his expertise of piercing, especially small children.  Obviously, parents have to consent but so does the child.  My daughter ended up getting one ear done and after a short cry, decided she had enough for the day and wanted to leave.  Upon leaving, Doc told us, "I give her a week, she will want to come back and have the other one done".  How right he was!   We went back for the other one today!  She cried a little more afterwards but was overjoyed with it by the time we made it to the car.  Again, I can't say enough good things about the place and the staff.  They're all highly professional from my observations on two trips.  The facility is also well kept and clean, what more could you ask for! My experience with my first tattoo with Psycho was a memorable one. He was super nice and took the nerves off me. I came out loving my tattoo. However, a year, one touch up, and 5 more tattoos later, I look at my original one that Psycho did with regret. He took my sketch and slapped it on my thigh and just changed the text style. I have a banner on my leg that anatomically doesn't make sense. Being it was my first tattoo, I should've had spoken up when I saw he wasn't puttin...g any artistic thought into the piece. Then when I went to get it touched up, I pointed out the part of the banner that doesn't make sense, and he didn't do anything about it. Just went over the lines that faded and didn't heal right.If I got this tattoo over again, I'd go to a different artist. Seriously can't say enough good things about this place! After having an awful customer service experience at another nearby shop we came here. We felt welcomed from the get go, and Natalie was so friendly and laid back. We came on a Saturday and they were able to work me and my friend in on Sunday as we had wished. Natalie did my friends piece and Psycho did two pieces for me. The prices were fair, everyone at the shop was friendly, and an overall great experience. I would definitely return for more work.
