I had an awesome experience at Underground! My best friend and I got tattoos by Mike; it was my second and her first. Mike was so gentle and worked with my friend who was unsure about placement until she was happy. He was also honest with us about placement and how our tattoos would last. At the time of this review Underground is also the only shop in Lexington with fully disposable equipment. The space was clean and cool. I have had all five of my tattoos done at Underground between two different artists. The guys here are incredibly friendly, willing to work with you, and talented. I had my sternum done here and the artist was very professional and took good care to ensure that I didn't feel violated or uncomfortable in any way. They are super patient and willing to work with you. They'll even help you decide on features of your tattoo to ensure that it heals well and lasts. The shop is full disposable and everything is sterile. Their prices are incredibly reasonable ($50 store minimum) and they don't try to screw you out of anything. I truly cannot day enough good things about Underground. I recommend them to everyone who asks me about tattoos, and I cannot wait to go back and get my next one here in a few months! Read Less

This place is all around awesome.. I heard good things about this place whenever I first moved to Lexington around 3 1/2 years ago. I initially went in for a Polynesian type sleeve, and Mike Drew me up something sick. Unfortunately I went out of town and never went back. Last Wed I was thinking I wanted some new ink, so went back there and to my suprise, Mike took one look at a tattoo I wanted to get cover and stated, “you were here before”.... it made me feel awesome... I had a child since then, but Mike drew me up a sketch within 2 hours. When I returned to see it, all I could say is “Let’s get started”.... He’ awesome.. I never write reviews but underground ink definitely deserves a review I went to Keith and he is amazing at doing tattoos even other people getting done by other artists told me Keith is the best he made me feel really comfortable getting my first tattoo and was super nice. He made sure I knew how to take care of it & says he stands behind his work 100% so if the tattoo ever needed to be touched up for whatever reason he would do it for free. I've been going to Underground Ink since 1999 for Tattoo work by these artistic professionals and will be going back again soon. I've had 3 large and 2 smaller pieces done here and am extremely happy with the outcome, both in regards to the quality, the longevity and the professionalism & cleanliness of the staff and place. I have had work done here by 3 of their artists including the owner Gregg and even though I have had work done at 4 other local Tattoo 'Salons' and in other cities, this is my Tattoo Shop of choice. This is the best tattoo shop in Lexington. I have received all of my tattoos and piercings from this shop and would not even dream of going anywhere else. The artists are absolutely amazing and the piercer is incredible as well. Dont allow yourself to be sold short by the other shops (and there are a bunch) go to Underground and get your work done right the first time. Read Less

I loved it!!! Every one there was so outgoing and personable. It was like talking to people that I've known for years though it was my first time in there. The tattoo that I got is beautiful and only took about ten minutes. Ray drew up exactly what I had pictured in my mind and did a great job.
