I went in to get my daith pierced. Renee (no promises on spelling) was EXTREMELY thorough in cleaning herself and her station in between clients. She took me back (my friend got to come with me) and started explaining the process and care of the piercing. Trust me, she won't lie to you about pain or the experience, but wouldn't you want someone to be straight forward with you? So she talked to me through the literal piercing of my daith and cleaned me up. The pain was NOT nearly what I thought it would be. She spent more time with me because my ear bled a lot (it felt like I was hearing things under water because so much had gone into my ear. TMI but gotta be real) but she cleaned me up as best as she could and gave me tips on how to get all of it out when I got home. I paid $50 for the piercing/ring which may sound like "a lot" but I was also paying for her cleaning supplies at her station, the tools to be sterilized, the THREE pairs of gloves she wore before and after she pierced me, and her time as a professional. You pay for quality and I had no problems paying that much. 10/10 would recommend. Read Less

Jeff Morris was my tattoo artist for my first tattoo and he did an amazing job. I have spent years thinking of this tattoo, and after my dad died I felt like it was an appropriate time to get the tattoo. The tattoo is from a Zelda game: Majora's Mask. In the game, you play the Song of Healing to help characters move on from death. I have always been a lifelong fan of the games and have always wanted a Zelda tattoo. I came up with the tattoo idea when I was 17. I have always s...truggled with depression and anxiety and I thought that the Song of Healing would help me get through it. When my dad died February 20th, the tattoo idea took on a new meaning for me. So I decided to take the idea seriously and find an artist. I immediately thought of Jeff Morris because he tattooed my sister-in-law and did an amazing job. I'm so glad I found him. He told me to stop by the shop and gave me what I consider to be a very fair price after approving the design. He was very open to communication on instagram throughout the entire process. I got there the morning of very nervous but excited. He was extremely friendly when greeting me and immediately had the designs ready. We decided on a size and ultimately the design ended up going through a slight change aesthetically. I thought I wanted a major change but after seeing it I decided I liked the original better. He was extremely nice and listened to my concerns and ideas. He understood that this was going on me forever and that I wanted it to look perfect. I can absolutely tell that Morris is a perfectionist and that is exactly what you want from your tattoo artist. He was really accommodating during the process and I felt very comfortable. He kept checking on me to make sure I was good. And the tattoo turned out to be amazing. I have had 4 people come up to me and compliment me on it and it has only been uncovered for 2 days. Bret did this one along with quite a bit more work on my back/arm/shoulder. Everything has healed up great over a year later. Went here to get 3 helix piercings. Don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was a lot. A year later, my ear is still hurting and my middle piercing looked infected, so I called to get them changed, thinking a hoop would help the infection drain. I was sent to another tattoo parlor to get them taken out, since the piercer is currently out, and was absolutely astonished at what I learned from a more experienced piercer... The reason that my middle piercing was not hea...ling and looked infected was because of 2 mistakes the piercer at Mothers did. 1) she put in curved bars. Apparently, helix piercings should be pierced originally straight. But 2) and more importantly, the piercer pierced my helix at a downward angle, causing the earring to constantly rub and to not heal. If I kept the earring in, it would never be able to heal. Now, I have a huge abcess on both the front and back of that particular hole and a smaller one on another piercing that was also pierced at an angle with a curved bar. Not only do I have abcesses, but I had to take that piercing out, let it completely heal and close up, then get it re-done if I want a piercing in that spot. It will also probably grow back as scar tissue, which will create different issues if I choose to get it re-pierced. While I originally thought this place was a good place to get piercings done because the piercer was really cool and gave me a slight discount for doing 3 at one time, I now have to do what I was originally trying to avoid: wait for a piercing/hole to heal for months before I can get another piercing. I wanted 3 helix piercings, not 1 or 2. I give them 2/5 stars, because 1 of my piercings was done correctly and not at an angle, 1 piercing was done at an angle but is not as bad and can heal, but 1 piercing now has to get redone, which means wait time and more money. 4/10 would not recommend for piercings. She made me feel very comfortable and was very good at reading me when I was about to faint and caught me so I didn't fall as I waited for my friend to get hers done. When it comes to tattoo shops in the Cincinnati area, you really can't do much better than Mothers.  This location was a different tatt shop years ago called Skin Art and the reputation that place had was pitiful compared to what it is now under Mothers guide.Craig is the shop owner and all-star artist but there are several others that do an amazing job of keeping this place top notch as well.  Whether you are looking for a full sleeve like I got, or just a walk in chosen off of their wall, the Mothers staff is knowledgeable and makes a point to help you get what you are after.  Several times I have been under the needle and Craig has been kind enough to consult about a new piece or cover up for a walk in client.  He gives an honest assessment and that can be hard to find in this industry.Usually, great artists and high levels of professionalism are two things that don't go together, but at Mothers they mesh really well.  So yea, Erlanger does have a great tattoo shop, and if you are thinking about getting some work done, I suggest you stop in. I was very nervous abouting getting my nostril pierced I wasn't sure if it would look right on me. I went in a couple days prior and spoke to a girl named Tara, she was very imformative and professional. I went back a couple days later and decided to go for it. Tara took me back and explained everything in detail and took her time answering my questions.She was also very hygenic, everytime she touched something she changed her gloves and that put me at ease. The place was very clean and decorated nicely not like you would think a tattoo place would look like. Tara talked me through the whole process and was so fast that I didn't feel anything. I had never been inside a tattoo parlor before and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of customer service that I recieved when I visited Mothers for my very first body piercing (my nostril). It was a wonderful experience from the time that I walked through the front door. The staff are friendly and informative and truly seem to enjoy the work that they do. The shop was clean and comfortable, not at all the image that I had in my mind of what a tattoo parlor might be like. My piercer took her time explaining the after care of my piercing and what I should expect during the healing process. I called them and they told me to come on in. I get there and girl at the front desk was busy talking on the phone to a friend and smoking a cigarette. The tattoo artist was arrogant and rude and acted as if I was bothering him, He told me he couldn't fit me in for a few days.
