This review is a long time coming. When I originally planned on getting a portrait tattoo, my first idea was Big Daddy's, simply because it was the only place in the area I knew. After doing some research and checking out the artists, I came upon Joshua Mason at Modern Age. The guy does killer work, whether it be on your skin, or one of his badass wood-burning pieces. I went to Modern age with my daughter. We got matching tats and Josh was very patient with her as it was her first tattoo. She is picky and after completing mine she asked him to fill in a couple spots that she decided on the fly weren't quite "perfect yet" on her's. He set up from scratch again and added until she was happy. His work was outstanding as was his professionalism. Got my first tattoo here and it was half of my back, done by Josh. I have gone here for a few years now and had great work done every time. Great atmosphere, great conversation, and great tattoos. And to the person with a 1 star review for the Photoshop college, my Bowie tattoo was the same way and it looks fantastic, so you can shove it. If you don't appreciate the good work, then go get something crappy done at Big Daddy's. Read Less

Josh wasted my time by drawing up a tattoo that was intentionally stupid and hokey just to mock me for asking if he'd put some effort into a sketch rather than copy/pasting a google image. It was a ridiculous collage of stupid images he slapped together in 3 minutes or less, but claimed it took "hours" of effort. When I called him out for being so unnecessarily rude he then pretended to have been sincere about the "mock-up" to save face; all this after I'd already driven out to consult with him and scheduled a day off of work for our appointment. Complete disrespect and wildly unprofessional. Seemed nice in person but then tried to pull that on me (still not sure why). Really awful stuff. Read Less

Awesome. Had some great work done here for my first tattoo. Man, was I shocked. Josh did my work and completed it flawlessly. For a decent sized tattoo that had an incredible amount of detail in it, he had it done in a timely manner. Was very comfortable around him because he made great conversation, was nice, and ensured I was comfortable the entire time. He also has a very light hand and an advanced tattoo gun that made the tattoo more relaxing than anything else. You can also vape inside the place and use your phone while he does his work, and he allowed all three of my friends in the room while he worked which was legit. He also let us play music on the computer which made it way more comfortable and exciting. Shop is extremely clean as well as the tattoo rooms. Would definitely recommend to a friend, especially since I was the one who was recommended here! Read Less

I want to give my deepest thanks to Joshua mason for helping me start this new chapter of my life. I told him what I wanted to get done on my arm. I used to be a "cutter" and after 4 other consultations, I was told I either couldn't have it done or needed to choose something else that would cover my horrible scars better. During the actual consultation Josh actually talked me back into it and for this I am forever grateful. The worst time of my life is covered by one of the things that I dearly adored. I still have to get the color added to it in two weeks but you really can't tell that it's a cover up. Again, I am eternally grateful for this new start with your help.
