I'm no stranger to piercings, I have 14, but the one I got at Asylum instantly got infected , I followed all of the care instructions to a T & it still became infected. My nose stud wasn't long enough and kept scratching the inside of my nose and the stud actually ended up inside my nose and had to be removed .. I went here with my best friend. We called 4 other tattoo parlors and they were all booked. We called asylum and neither of us have heard much about them but we saw the art online and it was absolutely outstanding. Ben, worked my friend in it was a small tattoo but also needed to be perfected because it was in her moms hand writing. My 5 year old wanted her ears pierced. Asylum wasn’t my first choice but it should have been. Joey was very professional and excellent with my daughter. My 5 year old daughter had been wanting her ears pierced. After waiting a few months to make sure it wasn't a passing phase, she still wanted them done and I started researching piercing places (knowing I didn't want to let a teenager at Claire's shoot my daughter in the ear with a crappy piercing gun). The first thing that struck me was the number of good reviews Asylum had. Reviews covering everything from courtesy to cleanliness. Since I was taking my young daughter th...ere both those points were really important to me. After looking at a few more places I called them up to see if they pierced kids ears and if so what steps I needed to take prior. Joey explained what I needed and to give him a call to schedule when we were ready. We gave them a call the day we wanted to go in and scheduled an appointment for my daughter and I to get our ears pierced. (I wanted to get mine done first to show her the process). We got there and were warmly greeted immediately upon entering. We filled out our forms and Joey took us back to his station. Joey was nothing short of amazing. He explained everything in detail and during the entire process changed his gloves at least half a dozen times and cleaned the chair in between her and I getting ours done. In general the whole place smelled and looked clean but the care Joey took in making sure the tools and such were sterile was amazing. Everything came straight out of new packaging in front of us so we could see it hadn't been tampered with. When it came to piercing my daughters ears he was so patient and great! She freaked out a little after the first ear and he allowed us the time to calm her and explained to her what would happen on the second ear. My wife and I planned a trip from Georgia to Cincinnati to catch a couple of Reds games. We decided we wanted to get our next tattoos while we were in town (the tattoo shops in our little hometown aren't great). So I messaged Asylum on Facebook and then got a call from Ben. I came here to get my nose pierced by Joe. He was incredibly professional and nice, and knows what he's doing. He took into account what I wanted and positioned the piercing accordingly, having me check the placement of the mark before piercing.He is very thorough in providing a sanitary, sterile environment, washing his hands before putting on gloves to show me the jewelry selection, and continually sanitizing his hands after removing gloves or touching anything.He talked me through the entire process, making sure I was okay with everything before taking the next step. He didn't put the needle in without confirming I was ready first, and let me know what to expect. My friend and I got our first tattoos here yesterday! I am from out of town, so we weren't able to make an appointment. We decided to walk in to see if there were any open slots, and everyone at the shop was very nice. Ben was our tattoo artist, and he was awesome! When our original font didn't work because of the size of our wrists, he found an equally beautiful font for us, instead of letting me settle for something I didn't love. Clean place. So much so that there's a faint bleach smell, even at 6pm on a Thursday. Bleach doesn't exactly smell great, but it's reassuring to know they keep they place clean. Knowledgeable staff. Wife had a piercing done here and our guy changed his gloves 4 times during the 10 minute procedure. We received oral and written after care instructions. While at the market to get some supplies, I had to call to clarify something and he walked through exactly what we needed. If I ever consider a tattoo, this will be the place. Read Less

I had been wanting a tattoo of my late dog, Brutus, paw print for remembrance. I also wanted a Def Leppard (my favorite band) tattoo. So I got my paw print with the Union Jack flag inside. Just got two tattoos and industrial piercing done here. My piercing was done by Joe, he works the desk a lot and is very friendly. He was very accommodating with my piercing and professional. He was very sanitary and made sure to check the placement of my piercing with me first.  He made sure to warn me when the needle was about to hit, and was very thorough with his aftercare instructions. Shad did my first tattoo, a small wrist wrap of rainbow colored feet. He drew the art up quickly and was very professional. He made sure I was happy with the placement and the size of the feet before hand and when he got down to business he worked efficiently and quickly, but didn't hurt me. His pricing was very reasonable and was far for the detail of my tattoo. He allowed me to see the colors that were going in, to make sure I liked them. Dustin did my second tattoo. Very sweet and down to earth, he responded to my email quickly and replied with a fantastic design I absolutely loved. When in the shop, he was VERY sanitary. He changes his gloves frequently and is ALWAYS using hand sanitizer. He changes paper towels often and is always willing to let you take a break for a cigarette or to use the restroom. He makes sure you're comfortable and does fantastic water color work. He tweaked the design with me so I could get it how I liked it and made sure the placement was just right. He works very quickly, and his prices are VERY reasonable. I'd definitely suggest Dustin if you want some more work done. This shop followers all the rules and uses Autoclaves to sanitize their tools, which is about as good as it gets. Their artists are talented and their prices reasonable. It's fun to be getting tattoo'd, listening to the artists joke back and forth. I even got to watch Joe and another artist do Yoga while Shad did my tattoo, very fun. All piercers and artists give very good aftercare instructions, and they offer a selection of jewelry, as well as soap for piercings and tattoos. I went with a drawing that my sister made. She always wanted a tattoo but died of cancer at 26 before she ever got one. Not only did they give me a great price but they brought her drawing to life. I love the colors they used with highlights added in. I will be back for more work. Shop was very clean. This was my 5th tat and they followed all protocals. This is a great shop, open 7 days a week with later hours than most, and the artists are all very down to earth and very talented.  They were able to work me in on a Saturday night, and Dustin, my artist, did a great job.  Unlike some of the other shops in this area, which act as if customers are a bother and treat you like you should be gracious to even get work there, the guys at Asylum are courteous, professional, and CLEAN.  Dustin changed gloves every time he took a break and bandaged me up.  The prices are also very competitive, and they accept debit/credit cards.  I will definitely be giving my business to this shop from now on!
