General Info
A matryoshka (pronounced Ma-tro-shka) is a Russian nesting doll, where as you open each doll, you find another. Mat(b) is the Russian word for Mother and this shop is my baby. Inside you will find many layers, gift shop, fine art gallery, handmade goods, and a private tattoo studio catering to custom, one on one relationships. This shop is the result of many years of work and dedication to the craft of tattooing. I hope you will come in and discover what is not only inside, but maybe discover what is inside of you!

The owner and Master Tattooist, Jennifer, has been my artist for the last 25 years. She had been on point for every tattoo I have gotten from her. If someone asks where and who to get a tattoo from, I always tell them, Matryoshka Tattoo. Great job Jennifer.

This is the only place I go to get my tattoos done, Jennifer listens to what I want and makes awesome designs. I've never had an issue with her and her staff is super friendly. They will usually call you ahead of time to look at your design and make changes if needed. I don't think I will ever go to anyone else.

I will never go anywhere else! A month later I scheduled my next one with her and I'm so excited! She adds her own touch and she's so creative!

I was referred to Buck by a friend and he didn't disappoint! I got wheat on my rib and wanted it to look very natural and beautiful. He is such an amazing artist- in fact, he free handed and sketched directly onto my side most of my tattoo. You could tell he put a lot of care into it as he kept erasing and starting over to make the wheat flow with my body. When we were both satisfied with the sketch- the 45 min. session was full of laughter and engagement. An hour and a half later I was walked out of there with my favorite tattoo yet and had a BLAST. Thank you for taking good care of me, Buck- my tattoo is amazing, you're so talented and I'm so in love. Picture right after in comments.

My sister and I just got our first tattoos this past weekend and it was such a great experience! We knew of Jennifer's work through friends who have worked with her in the past, so we knew we wanted to work with her as well. We booked our appointment in the early spring and the staff has been so helpful working with us on revisions through email (I live 3 hours away out of state). The new shop is beautiful...so charming and so much character, and filled with pieces from local artists. Jennifer is funny and personable and really able to put you at ease, especially if you are a little nervous like we were! Overall the whole experience was perfect and if I ever wanted another tattoo, it would be worth the long drive and the long wait (they are currently booked into November) to work with Jennifer and the rest of the staff again! Thank you thank you thank you!!

I was referred to Buck by a friend and he didn't disappoint! I got wheat on my rib and wanted it to look very natural and beautiful. He is such an amazing artist- in fact, he free handed and sketched directly onto my side most of my tattoo. You could tell he put a lot of care into it as he kept erasing and starting over to make the wheat flow with my body.
