Fine Line was started by Jon over 40 years ago. The family tradition has continued with his daughter Teddie and Granddaughter Heather. Over the years we have won multiple tattoo and fine art awards. We have also presented before local businesses, community, and national organizations as lecturers representing the body art industry. Come join the family!

I definitely would not recommend going to fine line for piercings. I got my right nostril pierced here two years ago and the piercer did an okay job, I didn't really have any complaints except for how uncomfortable I was with the piercer. She does not talk to you, unless she has to and it doesn't feel like a safe place but I liked my piercing. So I decided to come back and get my other nostril pierced by the same lady, and she did not make it even or even try, just used a sharpie, dotted my nose. She was obviously in a hurry and had no patience or want to help me even though there was no one behind me waiting she went really quickly. Almost too quickly to even attempt at doing a good job. And when it was pierced I really saw how uneven it was. I was so disappointed with this and I will never be back.

I would NOT recommend coming here for piercings. The piecer rushed through my septum piercing and didn't screw in the ball in tight enough that it fell off during my sleep keep in mind that it hasn't even been 24 hours since I got it pierced. My friend also got a double nostril piercing and they are not aligned at all because once again the piecer didn't take enough time to do her job right. I was extremely disappointed with the service and called asking if they sell replacement pieces and they told me I'd have to come in and ask the piecer, but soon after I called another piercing shop in Lawrence and they immediately helped get the right information. If you want a piercing, a good one, I would look else where.

Poor customer service, they act as if you're annoying them. horrible ink and line work. Multiple family/ friends have gotten tattoos and they look awful. My friend got her bellybutton pierced and it was EXTREMELY crooked! Never will I ever go back in there not for a tattoo & most certainly not for a crooked piercing.

Every labor day I come up from OK to have a best friend weekend. This year we decided to do tattoos. We searched for the perfect spot trying in Topeka and Lawrence. Using Yelp as a guide we attempted to use a shop in Lawrence, but immediately decided to look elsewhere when their artist was rude, unhelpful, and impatient. Enter Fine Line and Kevin. Not only was Kevin patient and chill he really understood what we were wanting even if we had a hard time explaining. He was funny and talented. Other staff in the shop were accommodating and friendly as well. I got another piercing while waiting. Seriously the most fun I've had in a tattoo shop, and we could not be more pleased with the tat itself. I would recommend this shop to anybody!!

I've had almost all of my tattoos done here, and never had any problems until a year ago. I went in to get a 101st Airborne tat on my right shoulder; the "artist" (using that term very loosely here) didn't bother to color the eagle white, and the black is fading badly in spots.
Took my daughter there yesterday for graduation ink. The woman at the counter was very impatient and incredibly rude. Once you're rude to my kids, I take our business elsewhere.
Fineline has become the McDonald's of tattoo shops - roll up quickly, get some absolute garbage, and wind up regretting it shortly afterward. We're done with this dump.

Came in and got “His Queen” tattooed on my chest. Garrett was the one who did it and i cannot express how amazing he is. He made sure my tattoo was lined up. You could tell he wanted it perfect. He took his time and checked on me often while tattooing me. It came out amazing! I plan on continuing to have him tattoo me in the future! The building is so clean and everyone who was there was so nice. Definitely the place to go if you want your tattoo perfect!

Horrible customer service. I went in, hoping to get a small one word tattoo- something that wouldn't take longer than 30 minutes. The first time, I was told they were busy and to come back 2 hours later. I stupidly came back two hours later. I was told they were still too busy and they couldn't fit in a walk-in- that's fine, no big deal. But then I asked for an appointment and she said they were all booked for a whole week - without even looking at the appointment book. I felt stupid for even attempting to go to Fine Line. Called Absolute Tattoo 5 minutes later - they easily fit me in. Go Absolute! Screw you Fine Line.

Almost a year ago I wanted to have a black rose with leaf on stem on my ankle. It was my first tattoo (at age 72). When I got home, my husband said that it looked like a mouse going up my leg. The leaf wasn't on the stem and the rose was on the wrong direction. Needless to say, I won't be going back there. I would like to get something done to make it look right.

Got my very first tattoo done by Garrett on the 14th and absolutely LOVE it! I'm deff gunna be going back soon & getting the tattoo all tied in together! For it being my first tattoo, they made me feel completely welcomed & there was basically no lines to wait in, walked in, filled out papers &I waited for him to get his station ready. And that says a lot considering they are usually always busy when I would go there and I had to drive 2hrs to get it done! Can't wait to go back for my 2nd tattoo!

Literally the most unprofessional tattoo parlor I have been in this decade. Zero attention to the customer. Acted surprised when I asked to see a photo portfolio, claiming their work was on the wall - it was all flash and a small digital photo frame in the corner. Went in about four times hoping maybe it was due to being busy one day, or being grumpy another day, or not having the people on site who worked on a specific part of the body there that day, but by the fourth time, I had a terrible taste in my mouth for the place.

I got my right nostril pierced here two years ago and the piercer did an okay job, I didn't really have any complaints except for how uncomfortable I was with the piercer. She does not talk to you, unless she has to and it doesn't feel like a safe place but I liked my piercing. The piecer rushed through my septum piercing and didn't screw in the ball in tight enough that it fell off during my sleep keep in mind that it hasn't even been 24 hours since I got it pierced. My friend also got a double nostril piercing and they are not aligned at all because once again the piecer didn't take enough time to do her job right. Not only was Kevin patient and chill he really understood what we were wanting even if we had a hard time explaining. He was funny and talented. I've had almost all of my tattoos done here, and never had any problems until a year ago. I went in to get a 101st Airborne tat on my right shoulder; the "artist" (using that term very loosely here) didn't bother to color the eagle white, and the black is fading badly in spots.
Took my daughter there yesterday for graduation ink. The woman at the counter was very impatient and incredibly rude. Once you're rude to my kids, I take our business elsewhere.

Got my very first tattoo done by Garrett on the 14th and absolutely LOVE it! I'm deff gunna be going back soon & getting the tattoo all tied in together! For it being my first tattoo, they made me feel completely welcomed & there was basically no lines to wait in, walked in, filled out papers &I waited for him to get his station ready. And that says a lot considering they are usually always busy when I would go there and I had to drive 2hrs to get it done! Can't wait to go back for my 2nd tattoo!

Literally the most unprofessional tattoo parlor I have been in this decade. Zero attention to the customer. Acted surprised when I asked to see a photo portfolio, claiming their work was on the wall - it was all flash and a small digital photo frame in the corner. Went in about four times hoping maybe it was due to being busy one day, or being grumpy another day, or not having the people on site who worked on a specific part of the body there that day, but by the fourth time, I had a terrible taste in my mouth for the place.
