Came in this afternoon to get my left nostril pierced (my first "real" piercing aka one not done at Claire's). The wait wasn't too bad, considering it was Saturday and they do walk-ins for piercings, but I would have waited 10 hours for Jo and Kat! I was extremely nervous and jittery and they calmed me right down, were very interested in the cultural significance of the piercing for me, and charmed my mom (which is VERY hard to do, trust me). The whole process was over before I knew it, and I was supplied with all the after-care info needed. I have gotten one tattoo here, and they were quick, clean, and everyone there is super nice. Besides that, I get all of my piercings done here, and I will never go anywhere else. The piercer is so rad, and she knows what she’s doing. She talks you through everything and makes you feel confident and comfortable in getting that piercing. She gives great advice on what piercings you should get before others, which side it would work better for you on, and she’s always honest and I appreciate that. I have sent 3 different friends to get pierced by her and they also say that they won’t go anywhere else. If you’re looking for a place to get a piercing, this is absolutely, 100% the place. Big Al is the artist that did my tattoo, and he completely blew my expectations out of the water. His line work and shading is impeccable. This wasn't my first tattoo, nor will it be my last, but I've definitely found my artist. He makes you feel comfortable while working his magic. When finally a guy arrived at the counter, I told him that I wanted to make an appointment. I had an idea of a tattoo I wanted but needed help putting the idea together. He laughed and told me they can't do that, that I had to be sure of what I wanted. I told him that I had some pictures but needed an ARTIST to help me (I thought that's what artists do). He then told me I could make an appointment for a consultation. I was so embarrassed because of they way he treated me. I didn't went again, decided to go to another place that actually treated me with respect and I felt confortable there...I decided to give them 3 stars because I've seen the work they do and it's awesome, maybe the other artists there are actually nice and knows how to treat people. Its been 2 months now and not one email or phone call, i even called after a month and the receptionist didnt seem to know what i was talking about and said id have to wait until the artist was in instead of just walking over to his desk and looking. Jo is a miracle worker! The ball on my lip ring would NOT BUDGE as hard as I tried ALL DAY with pliers, rubber gloves - even having someone else try! My daughter turned 18 on Feb 2nd and for her birthday she wanted to get mother/daughter matching tattoos. Joel had previously done 2 tats on me so I messaged him on Friday the 24th and he had a couple cancellations and was able to get us in that day. Jo was my angel today. Had a nipple piercing that went south and hurt like hell, but Jo saved me a trip to the emergency room by being able to get the jewelry out safely and fitted me with a proper barbell. Even though it hurt, she still was as gentle as she could've been and her bedside manner was super sweet, genuine, and compassionate. Aftershock is clean and the people are really friendly, I had Jo do a naval ring on me. I had heard all about how horrid it was and how they clamped your stomach to do it. I want to say that Jo was great! I am not going to say that it did not hurt because it did LOL but she was really fast and I would say that it really did not hurt more than getting a flu shot does. Shut up and give them your money!I had a bad experience getting my ears pierced several years ago, but I make chain maille as a hobby and I wanted to get them pierced again so I could enjoy wearing a set of earrings I am in the process of making. After digging around a couple of websites, I noticed the reviews on YP and checked them out. I was really impressed with the studio, and how comfortable and clean everything looked. Jo took care of my piercing that day, and I gotta say, I was really impressed with her and how she gave me all the tools I needed in order to better understand how to take care of my piercings during the healing process and the aftercare (The last time I had gotten them pierced, I went to the mall. The knowledge on the aftercare was iffy, and I barely had them in a year before I took them off due to an ear continually being infected.) I've been getting pierced from the piercer there for a couple of years now,and have never had a bad piercing or trouble with any of the piercings he had done.The guy who dose the piercing there has always been the utmost of a professonal and has always taken the time out to explane the do's and don'ts for every piercing i have ever gotten and gives out a written care sheet for every piercing that he does.
