I had an issue with a tattooist who use to work here, said we'd never go back. Heard that person was gone so decided to give them a 2nd chance. I just had my first tattoo removal appointment with Jamie at Destination Tattoo Removal in Grimes and I definitely recommend her to anyone that needs a questionable tattoo removed. I had heard that laser work was terribly painful and I can now say that, while it wasn't great, it wasn't significantly more painful than getting the tattoo had been. The difference was that the laser is over very quickly compared to the tattoo. I sat for 45 minutes or so getting the tattoo, 45 seconds having the treatment done. The other barrier I had heard was cost. Jamie is very fair, I'm paying $90 per treatment and that is for both hands. We talked quite a bit while I was having this done and she prices basically as a piece instead of by square inch as some other places do. Jamie is a nurse by trade and so she has an actual medical background and not just a weekend "tattoo removal tech" class. Lastly, like with a lot of random stuff, I knew enough about laser tattoo removal to be dangerous before I ever set foot in the door. I for sure knew enough to recognize that Jamie was a professional who knew what she was doing. There's a trust level involved when letting someone burn your hands with a goddamn laser, and I definitely felt comfortable and in good hands the whole time.
