I felt so robbed after my experience at Hot Spot. As soon as I got the helix piercing done, my ear was bleeding like crazy. The man who pierced my ear, Jerry, said it was even a bit unusual, but that I might just be a bleeder. I have never gotten my ear cartilage pierced before, so I didn't know what to expect. Over the next couple of weeks, my ear was super swollen and bled a lot. I tried so many things: homemade salt water solution that I meticulously made, solution that they sold at Hot Spot, and crushed aspirin. When I went back to see why my piercing was so painful, Jerry admitted that he pierced the jewelry at an angle and that the piercing should be taken out immediately. The woman who took it out asked me if I was allergic to nickel; turns out they have nickel in their starter jewelry which was not made clear what-so-ever when I got the jewelry. Since this establishment did not tell me about the material of the jewelry and they pierced my ear wrong--I didn't trust Hot Spot or Jerry to pierce my helix again. The woman who took my jewelry out said that she could not refund my piercing because it had been a month since I got it. I checked the date I got the piercing done and it was a week or so from being a month old. When I responded with this, she immediately denied saying anything. Then, Jerry went so far to accuse me of wrongfully taking care of the piercing (even though he admitted to messing it up)--when I have other piercings that have healed beautifully. I know how to take care of them. I asked Jerry what their policy at Hot Spot even was since they were making things up on the spot; he said, very vaguely and profoundly, that "It's guaranteed." What is guaranteed though?? A painfully wrong piercing? A waste of my time? Disrespect? That's all I got, at least. Spend your money on piercings else where. Go to an establishment that cares about your well being and takes your body seriously. Read Less
