Was super apprehensive about getting a cover-up tattoo, visited other local tattoo shops and was not treated well, thought it would be impossible to ever fix a 26 year old mistake....decided to go online and see if anyone else had great work and found Lefty's (they are super talented). Ive always received exceptional customer service at Lefty's. I'm always greeted promptly when walking in and never left waiting long to go over a brief consultation. The atmosphere of the shop is friendly, laid-back, and not to mention the best decorated you'll ever see. I've gone to Andrew for about 11-12 hours of work including a half sleeve of custom, original artwork. He's very receptive to my input, and customer satisfaction of the work is clearly a high priority for him. Andrew far exceeds my (high) expectations with every visit. I've since moved out of the CR area but I don't hesitate to make the two hour drive to come here for my inking needs. If you like the work you see, I can easily recommend any of the artists here. I got my first tattoo at this store a few month ago, and I'm very disappointed.The stuff is very kind but unprofessional I guess...I got the simplest tattoo... three words on my upper waist.And I cared about it just as their direction was asking for. Step by step. By the book.The letters is too boldly and the tattoo fade from the first day!!!I waited till these days for it to fixed itself but it's still the same.Check very carefully before you get your tattoo! Considering that this was my first tattoo, I'm sticking with a four. Of course, I'm already planning my second, so I'll have a better idea then.Now I realize that a lot of people come in with a very specific design or idea. I didn't. I knew what I wanted written and I knew where I wanted it placed. But I'm not a creative person, so that's where I'm looking for the artist to help guide me with my decision. Initially I felt that the guy working with me (not Lefty) expected me to know what I wanted for every detail. I did my best to explain and I still felt like he was viewing me as  "woman least likely to have a tattoo".I'm glad to say that we reached an accord and he did a really nice job.As I mentioned, new to the tattooing thing and so I was very curious. Okay so I hit up Left's 2nd annual tattoo convention last weekend. It was my first tattoo convention so had no idea what to expect. Honestly I only went because I had friends with a booth. Got a new piece on Friday night. I must say the experience was just okay. There were two live bands and they were not very good. It was very loud so that the artist and I were practically shouting to hear each other. Also when you are in pain and trying to deal with it, loud bad music does not help. Lighting was not very good either so the artists needed to provide their own. I would have preferred that the tattoo contest / judging happen on the stage so that we could all see. And rather than bands, just have more of the side-show stuff. Although it was obvious that the MC knew how to handle the mic, I would have preferred less swearing and cock talk and more just promotion of the various artists and booths. Thanks to Lefty's for throwing the party. Next year with some improvements I'll give ya another star. Read Less
