This is honestly one of the most legit shops you’ll ever come across. The owner Kevin is one of the most friendliest, funniest, talented, easy-going tattoo artist you can ever work with. The shop just feels nostalgic, it’s on the smaller side but doesn’t have that overwhelming feel that some tattoo shops have. You feel like can hang out there all day. You pay for quality and free touch ups for life while at the same time not getting ripped off. I honestly picked this shop out of random with my best friend. We got matching tattoos, it was my first. Damien did them and he was awesome. Love this place..everyone was EXTREMELY friendly, from the guy up front to the tattoo artists. Damien did my girlfriend and I’s equality tattoos and we’re in love with them!! It was our first tattoos and he went through everything and made sure we were comfortable. Also glad he explained the whole after care process as well. I loooooove this place! � This is, by far, the least JUDGY tattoo parlor I've ever been to. I've always felt really insecure about bringing my own ideas into other places. One place (also in Valpo) even said, "Oh.... Another one of these?" The people here were so incredibly sweet and supportive, asking me what my tattoo meant to me and telling me how cool they thought it was. Each new piece and idea presented to them, the show great interest to make this tattoo one you would love for a life time. Unlike other places located in Valparaiso Indiana, these artists will work around your price range to a reasonable standing to get the piece you want and yet give the artist there pay. Since then I watched as Mary educated her Facebook following about what goes behind good Tattoo services (health standards etc...) finally, I decided to get my first tattoo. I started going back to Umbrella back in September of 2010 and I won't go anywhere else. Everyone there has been more than welcoming when I come in, to the ideas I throw out to them. I've had tattoos done by Mary D. and Emilio Saylor there and everything has turned out much better than I had originally planned! One time that truly stand out to me is when I forgot to eat before getting ink done on my leg and Mary pulled out fudge brownies (courtesy of Kevin's grandma), animal crackers, apple juice, and Coca-Cola. I went to see these folks on a referal from a friend. It was like no tattoo shop I'd ever been in, in was more like a warm family doctors office. They were super clean, super friendly. They listened to me about my idea and then took the time to draw up a custom image. I needed to make some changes, and they were cool with that.
