The staff is super friendly, but most all of my piercings have had to be redone. My nose ring had to be taken out because it was pierced weirdly far back, and same with my nip piercings. She pretty much pierced my boob. Read Less

Please don't get pierced here. I had my nose done and it never healed and I had to take it out. I then thought I would try to get my nipples done by the same girl and big mistake. One of them is ok, the other is completely unsymmetrical. Not only was it pierced at an angle, the bars used were super extra large and externally threaded!! I told her I wanted internally threaded. I went to a different piercing studio in Valpo today and I am so grateful they are helping me heal these piercings. The metal that culture shock uses is cheap and will never properly heal a piercing. After being recommended to culture shock by a friend i went there to get my monroe done. I was charged $30 and gave a $5 tip before i was pierced. Well after a couple days the swelling went down a little and the back of my jewelry was showing. You could see the back of the of it. Turns out the piercer did it wrong. The placement above my lip was just fine. But she pierced it completely dowmward and angled.  I went and had it looked at by two other piercers who both confirmed it was done wrong. When i told the others she blamed it on my "little lips" and they both agreed that if she felt she couldn't do the peircing properly she should have turned me away. I then called the shop and told the piercer  i got two other professional opinions and both agreed it it was done wrong. Well she then told me she had informed me that i have little lips and the back would be showing. These were her exact words "you have little lips. (Chuckles about it)" and that was it. also since i had got other opinions theres nothing they can do because thats their policy. After vsiting another shop i went into culture shock to try to get my money back they told me i should have had them look at it and all they would do is a repiercing. Granted i got my tip money back but instead of trying fix the situation they put all the fault on me by saying my lips were too little and the fact i didnt have them take a look at it if i felt it was done wrong.  They said i could have gotten a repiercing but why would i go to some place that did it wrong the first time. I went there just a few days ago and I have to say I was very suprise. When getting out of the car and looking at the shop it doesn't look like much but once u enter your eyes are immediately drawn to the art work all over the walls. They are very professional they have clean facilities. All the needles and other tools they use are disposable so you run no risk for infection. The artists are all very talented but be warned you will almost never be able to walk in and get a quick tat. They give u an appointment and take time to prepare the tat. I went into this place for a scheduled touch up from the artist and was told they were going to charge me a shop minim. Um excuse me arnt the touch ups suppose to be free when you are way over charged for having the work done in the first place. I have never been so beside myself. I would say if you want your work done at a reasonable... price and your touch ups included DO NOT GO HERE. I have since then had my work touched up by another artist in the area that wants to treat his clients fair and did not charge me for Bulldogs (dave Wallace) mistakes. As a matter of fact I am writing the same review for culture shock as they are the parent company of this company. SHAME ON YOU, you should treat your clients with the respect they deserve. Dear Dave Wallace: In response to your shop policy and owner I talked to both of you and neither of you did anything to correct the problem. Since I did try and talk to you and my voice was not heard then I am telling everyone including web pages about the work that I received from you and neither of you tried to fix it. Sorry that you did not try to help me and as much money as I have spent with you I still say, shame on you as it was not forever and for trying to imply that it was and for not standing by your customer and helping the people out that are paying YOUR bills! I got my first tattoo there. I drew it up myself and Dave did the work for me. I asked him to redraw the piece and he added some flow and detail into it. He did a great job with it, i am very happy. As for the shop itself, very clean very neat. The tattoo healed perfectly not even a scab. I will go back to Dave for as many tattos as I can. Read Less

I got my belly button pierced here when I was 15 and it was not straight. I didn't know where else to go so I went back to get my industrial pierced at Culture Shock and not only did he mess up that piercing too because so it's uneven and looks like its about to rip out of my ear because it is so close to the end..... BUT one day I got my ear stuck on something and my bar BENT IN HALF. When I took the bar out I BENT IT MORE THAN FIVE TIMES. Yeah, the SURGICAL STAINLESS STEEL JEWELRY CULTURE SHOCK USES BENT. OVER AND OVER AGAIN. They are overpriced for piercing and you can find better quality jewelry at wal-mart. I recommend staying far away from this place unless you want a screwed up piercing that people will ask you if the jewelry is being rejected because they don't know how to pierce. But, if you're in to that sort of thing... go for it. Read Less

I have searched high and low for a good piercing shop in Valparaiso and Culture Shock is it. I went in last week, found exactly what I was looking for and received good advice. Professional, clean, and nice staff. They also individually sell "O's" for retainers. Not many shops sell them individually. Alight where do I start? Three years ago I went into culture shock to get a tattoo that my mother (an artist) drew up for me. It is a very clean looking place and one of the very few places to get a tattoo in Valparaiso IN. So I went in there and had Amy do the tattoo for me. It looked really good and then I got a staff infection 1 day after I got the work done. It started breaking out in little bubbles. It started with one on my back where the tattoo was done. Then a few days later I got a couple more. When I went to the doctor they told me it was a staff infection from the tattoo. After I spent over the price of the tattoo to make the staff infection go away I was left with a scar in the middle of the tattoo. I asked if they would fix it and they would NOT. After the current people that were working there left and only 2 remained I thought that I would go back into the shop to get another one (like I said very few places in Valpo. to get a tattoo). Now the tattoo I got was 3 weeks ago THREE WEEKS AGO and it is so bad with hard black lines I went to talk to another tattoo artist out of town about it. I am now trying to exfoliate it to try to remove some of the color so that I may go have it reworked. This tattoo was done from Justin. 2 tattoos from 2 different people same location. So I will never go back to Culture Shock I would recommend going someplace else even if you have to drive unless you are up for careless work and a staff infection or worst. Also when we where in there the lady that stands behind the counter was super rude to my best friends that came in to watch the process. They were not doing anything wrong and because they were not spending money they were treated like dirt. Read Less
