Most disgusting place I have ever stepped foot into. It smelt like wet dog / mold. They people working there were disgusting and dirty and were beyond rude. Id never send me worst enemy to get anything done here. Literally felt like I might've caught a disease just stepping foot in there. Been here twice over about a year in between and both times I've left happy. Love the size of the place as it offers a comfortable atmosphere. The people have always been real cool and helpful. Glen is the worst piercer!!! Pierced my nose in the wrong spot. Bled bad when he pierced it, made me feel nauseous, dizzy, and sweaty, almost passed out. Definitely would not go back, got 2 f my tattoos and the lettering on my collar bone is faded and the ORIGINAL mermaid I wanted, they said they couldn't do because if they printed it out it'd be 'pixelated'. I offered to draw it out for him, but he declined. So I had to find a entire new tattoo that worked for them 😒. Definitely WILL NOT be going back to these guys. Read Less

I can't speak too much for the shop, because I haven't been there. But I called and the customer service was horrendous. I just wanted to ask how much piercing both earlobes was--I didn't want to get it done at a crappy place at the mall, because I know that piercing guns can't be sterilized and I wanted a larger gauge to start with.The guy on the other side of the phone was very condescending. "We don't pierce your ears like they do at the mall." Well, that's why I called you. I told him I didn't like his customer service, he finally quoted me a (ridiculously high!) price and explained that they pierce with 14 gauge needles. Which is what I wanted, so if he had stated that at the outset instead of being a jerk about it, maybe I would have gone there.Instead I went to Marvel, even though it was about to close, and got my ears pierced at 14 gauge + jewelry + plus an extremely generous tip for the late-staying, POLITE, thoughtful piercer (Anna is great!) for less than the price quoted for Electric Rose.It just doesn't seem worth it for piercings to me. I took my boyfriend to The Electric Rose to get him a tattoo for his 35th birthday. After a consultation with the owner my boyfriend was in the chair getting inked. Everything went smoothly he got a dragon on his legs wrapped around his kids names. I had so much fun that I decided to go ahead and get on also. If you happen to be in the South Bend area and are looking for a new tattoo I definately reccomend Electric Rose. They guarantee their work and if therre is any problem they will fix it. I now have 3 tattoos from the staff at Electric Rose and my boyfriend has 4. We wouldn't reccomend any other place to go. Read Less

A friend and I went to Electric Rose to have our first tattoos done. We checked the place out beforehand, and were pleased to hear the owner go on and on about good tattoos aren't cheap, cheap tattoos aren't good. He said we would pay a higher price at his place, but that is because he produced high quality work. During the actual tattooing, the 'artist' continued to use chewing tobacco and touch things he shouldn't after putting on his gloves (like his face and cup he was spitting in). I needed a touch up a short time later, but the owner refused to accomodate my schedule to fix me up.I finally gave up and went to another place (for my touch up) called New Breeds. I was informed by every employee that saw my tattoo that Electric Rose was a hack and didn't derserve to be inking people. I hadn't much experience with tattoos so I hadn't noticed many things; but these employees brought much of it to light. My detail work was simply lazy, the proportions hadn't been kept equal across my arm, and this was made worse by the inconsistent shading along the outline. Rose had told me the tattoo faded quickly because of the colors I used, but New Breeds told me a tattoo done correctly takes awhile to fade, and since having it touched up there I have had no fading. New Breeds was kind enough to fix me up, and they nearly doubled the size of the tattoo for half the price. Read Less
