This review is long overdue but much deserved!Charlie Browy is not only an amazingly talented and creative artist, but a wonderful person to boot. From day one, I inquired about working with him and he responded immediately in a courteous and respectful manner, letting me know what my next steps would be. And, let's face it, when it comes to people who tattoo for a living, this type of response is few and far between.Throughout the next phase of a somewhat large, original design being permanently drawn into my back, Charlie was extremely professional and upfront regarding all expectations and ideas we had for the design. He listened to my vague directions and turned them into a beautiful piece of art using a computer program and made sure that I was happy with what he came up with before we moved on.I won't delve into his witty jokes and awesome overall personality too much--you will just have to find this out on your own. But rest assured that you are in GOOD hands when it's Charlie's hands on the needles. This was my first time at Bananafish Tattoo Parlour. All of my previous tattoos were done at Ink & Dagger, but I was looking for a change. I saw Victoria Kurtz's artwork on Instagram and decided to make an appointment! We emailed back and forth discussing the Legend of Zelda piece I wanted on my arm and set a date for a consultation. During the consultation, we discussed the tattoo in more detail and I placed a $60 cash deposit. We booked three appointments and the first one was set for January 31st, but she ended up having a cancellation so she asked me if I'd like to come in early!  I've gotta admit- I am blown away by this shop! They are professional, clean, and the artists there are all amazing. I will be coming back to see Victoria for all of my future tattoos. She charges $100/hour, but it is well worth the money. I have walked into and out of many tattoo shops in Louisville looking for a great, clean, professional and amazing artists. I didn't know I had to go to Indiana to find that!! I've heard of Amber and Tori from friends for years and must've been deaf to their praises of these fantastic ladies. Then my world turned earsideup when they took on my great friend's new lady as an apprentice I had to check it out. Alexis Gillenwater is amazing. She has been the only person in this area I have allowed to tattoo me! I would love to get Tori and Amber's art done too!! The shop has four artists Amber, Tori, Jesse and now Alexis as full time tattoo artists! All of them have done efficient, expertly priced and exquisite tattoos every time I have been in the shop. I'm always excited to see what they are painting on another person's canvas and it always turns out so beautiful! It was a 10 year tattoo hiatus and I'm thankful I waited to find a place so worthy of my time and money. The atmosphere is superb and comfy, they go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy with your design before a needle ever touches your skin! Think ahead and know what you have in mind because these ladies and gent book quickly! Months out even. Amber is an exceptional artist and business owner. Throughout the arduous task of helping me combine 8 small pieces into one sleeve, she has been patient, creative and insanely helpful. Not many artists are willing to work with or around others work, but Amber truly wants her clients to be happy. I see her work all over town and am always in awe. Came in with my daughter and sister-in-law to have a coverup done on my lower calf. Victoria was funny, personable, professional, and her work is amazing. Everyone in the shop was warm and welcoming and I loved the all around atmosphere of the shop. Victoria put together a gorgeous combination of colors for my fleur-de-lis and finished in record time with a masterful piece of body art. Hands down would not trust anybody BUT these two beautiful and talented women with permanent art on my body. Victoria did my first real piece on my shin and it was a three hour session. So both of these women are amazingly talented, lovely individuals. I was very particular in choosing a tattoo artist when I relocated to the area and, after over a year of searching, found Amber. She did an exquisite tattoo on my calf and I fell in love. I have been to her for three other tattoos since then and, recently, had Victoria tattoo two new tattoos (memorials for my mother). Not only are all of my tattoos gorgeous pieces of art that I will cherish forever, but these two went ABOVE and BEYOND the call of "good service" when my mother passed away abruptly in December. I had an appointment with them and they moved MOUNTAINS to get me into the shop before my mother's funeral (and my relocation to the West Coast) so that I wouldn't miss getting my memorial tattoos from people I know, love and trust. I can not express in words how much that  meant to me. These ladies are top notch professionals and will work their lovely butts off to give you something to be proud of and to love. Trusting someone with permanent artwork on your body is a BIG DEAL, YALL. Amber Bananafish and Victoria Kurtz are two phenomenal artists.They both exhibit high quality work, professional attitudes while bringing some innovative, clean, RAD tattoo work in Southern Indiana. The studio is beautiful, wood floors, beautiful artwork, cozy couch to hang out on and a TV for anyone waiting while their loved one gets work done. The energy in there is positive and light-hearted, but professional. I appreciate that since being tattooed is also significant to me on a spiritual level.
