This is hands down the best tattoo shop I have been to since I have been getting tattoos done. Andrew Gummer is amazing and will work to get you whatever design you want. I emailed to request a date to schedule my tattoo and then asked about when I would receive a sketch. I received attitude for asking this stating it would be done the day I came in. At this point, I should've known to just cancel the appointment. The day I arrived, I wasn't greeted in a friendly manner, but a hasty one. The tattoo  was drawn really quickly and it looked okay, but wasn't great. At this point, I should've left. I just wanted to give that person the benefit of the doubt. I had requested this tattoo as a cover up of a small flower. I didn't like the colors of that flower (the shade of green or the orange). I told her I wanted this one a dark reddish color along with some darker green. I'm not sure what happened but it's almost the same color as the one I was trying to cover except with some really weird dark lines. When I saw it I was appalled. I made some comments and she just seemed frustrated with me. I was also getting lettering on my foot which was almost misspelled. The sketch was correct but what was typed on my foot was not. It was easily corrected even though I can tell the letter was almost an I instead of an E. At no point while I was there, did I feel welcomed or appreciated as a customer. Unfortunately my husband gave a big tip so that if I needed to come back we would be perhaps treated better. A few weeks later I could see my other tattoo showing through and sent an email. I went back in for a touch up and was still treated the same way. It still looks terrible but at this point I'm going to get my phenomenal tattoo artist to do it for me because it's not worth being treated that way. Especially when these flowers look dead to me. Getting a tattoo is nerve wracking, especially when it's your first. What you need is a place that makes you feel comfortable. When I called the Salty Siren I talked to Mary who was very professional on the phone. I set up an appointment and arrived the next day, nervous and excited for my first tattoo. When I arrived, my first thought was how it's really nice it's in a house. When you go inside the decor is really cool with the nautical theme. Lenny, the owner (or co owner) told me she would be doing my tattoo. Instantly she made me feel at home! She allowed me to take my time and calm down. She explained that it would only take a few minutes to complete the tattoo. When I had also explained an idea for another tattoo I wanted, she had me look at some of her work. Let me tell you before I got my first I was already planning my second! Once she finished the trace and placed it where I wanted it, I followed her instructions and laid down so she could get the phrase written on my side. I don't know if maybe I have a high pain tolerance or she is just that great at her artistry but I ended up with a tattoo I love and not any pain. Today we stopped in for 2 walk in tattoos. Mary hooked us up. It was our one year anniversary gift to each other. Mary was supper cool. She chatted and laughed and did a wonderful job on our tats. Between the two of us we have over 30. The building is beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. At no point did we feel uncomfortable or rushed through. From the moment I stepped into the Salty Siren, I knew it was going to be an awesome experience. Everyone was warm and welcoming. The staff treated me as though I was an old friend. They were extremely accommodating. Even though I was late for my appointment, they assured me that they would have time for my first tattoo. Earlier in the week, I had sent Lenny a picture of what I wanted, and upon my arrival, she explained to me that it was a bit too small and would not age well.... So Mary, who was my amazing tattoo artist, tweaked the design a bit and asked for my opinion with each change she made. Knowing that this was my first tattoo, Mary walked me through the whole process and compared the feeling to somebody scratching my arm continuously (this comparison was spot on). She made my simple Pinterest-borrowed idea into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. Not only did I get my first tattoo here, on a whim, I decided to get an orbital piercing. Even though I didn't have an appointment for this, Sarah was more than willing to give me this piercing. She walked me through the process of this particular piercing and was through and gentle during the actual piercing process. There is no doubt in my mind that the next time I want another piercing or my second tattoo, I will make the trek from Fishers to the Salty Siren in Greenwood. Having been to a couple different tattoo/piercing salons on the north side, I can confidently say that the Salty Siren is unlike any tattoo parlor I have ever visited before. I can't speak more highly of this shop, and especially Lenny. She's done 3 tattoos of mine, and now working on my sleeve. She does exceptional work, super easy to talk to, and exceeds my expectations every time I walk in there. I've been to many tattoo shops around town and never have had great experiences.
