All the artist were very nice! Customer service was great and they we very welcoming. My friend and I were both walk-ins and were accepted with gladness. The artists asked a lot of questions to make sure they were tattooing exactly what we wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone. The minimum was 60$ which is a really great deal. I was there to get a memorial tattoo. I was working with Joel, who I sent several photos and emails as to what I had in mind. He came through with a great design and good efficient delivery. I had my choice of artist and after reviewing the shop's website and the gallery of each artist's work,  I liked Joel's floral work ( my tat has yellow roses in it).The shop is well lit and a good layout. It is also very clean. They use padded massage tables for you to lie/sit on, while the artist is on a roll around stool.Like I said earlier, Joel worked efficiently, keeping me comfortable as possible while getting the job completed.I would recommend Black Anvil to anyone considering a tattoo. This place is hands down the best tattoo place in Fort Wayne. I am in the process of a full length sleeve on my arm and Dusty has handled it so incredibly well. The line work is impeccable, the color is vibrant and I know that it is going to last a long, long time. I have my fourth session coming up in two weeks and I can not wait, I always feel welcomed and comfortable at my sessions. I have actually had someone approach me while I was out shopping one day to ask about my sleeve because they recognized that it was Dusty's work, so that says something about the mark Dusty has made on the tattoo world. Great shop, great artists! Just walking into the shop i knew this was where i was going to get my next tattoo. Shop was clean and an awesome atmosphere! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I booked Nate, he took my ideas for the memorial tattoo for my mother and came up with a design that blew my mind, as well as all my expectations. Probably my favorite shop in the whole world. I have been tattooed at a lot of shops across the US and always look forward to making the drive to Ft. Wayne. I live in Detroit and it's a pretty quick drive down. Parking is never a problem either. I have been tattooed there by Beau and Dusty. This place is tucked away in the heart of downtown and offers clean, professional, and courteous customer service that is unparalleled to any other tattoo shop I've ever been to! I got a half sleeve by Beau who took my basic idea and turned it into a custom work of art designed specifically with my wants in mind. He asked for my insight and opinion every step of the way. If you are looking for a tattoo that is amazing, look no further than Black Anvil. I traveled two hours to have a coverup and a small tattoo done and it was more than well worth the drive. Dustin Stemen is fantastic! He took an old tattoo and made it something beautiful that I am so proud to show off. This shop is not only the tattoo gem of Ft. Wayne, but of most of the mid-west. The shop itself is bright, clean, very well designed, covered with flash from the greats, and filled with tattooers who work with integrity and pride.  Everyone at this shop is friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable about tattooing.  I traveled here from Chicago to see Dusty Neal for a medium sized piece and let me tell you I WAS BLOWN AWAY by the face melting winds of awesome that cyclone in this place.  Not only by the level of professionalism and general tattoo-wizardry from Mister Neal, but the actual experience of being tattooed was top notch.  It's probably a good thing I have a three hour drive between me and this EPIC shop because I would spend all my free time and money here if given the opportunity.  Bottom line, the work coming out of this shop is not to be missed.  I will be back. I heard about Black Anvil from a friend who got a tattoo there. I decided to check it out. It's a clean small shop, downtown FW. It's on the 2nd floor of the building so it seems weird going up but it looks nice and is very open when you walk in. The guy that worked on me was super nice. I wasn't sure about the placement of my tattoo but he patiently worked with me til I was happy. It was quick (I got something small)  and easy. The shop minimum is $60. I felt like that was a bit high, but I'm not sure how it compares with other shops. But I was very impressed and left happy. Read Less
