I came here with my friend for my first tattoo 2 years ago and just decided to review this shop because I'm planning on going back. We did a walk in and talked to Adam & his wife and they were super friendly. We planned an appointment and paid ahead of time. Anyway I got exactly what I wanted and so did my friend. Never had any problems with the healing and the ink stayed. They were just really cool people and I liked my first experience with getting ink here. I went here to get my double piercing, and it was an amazing experience. I was a walk-in customer, and even though I didn't have an appointment I was helped immediately. The guy who pierced me, Noah (totally recommend him, he was awesome) was helpful and efficient. He helped me pick my jewelry and talked me through the process. He then spent several minutes looking at the marks he made where he was going to pierce to make sure he was satisfied with how they looked. It was very quick and done very well. I had a really weird experience at this location. I have terrible migraines that I've tried nearly everything to help make them better. In a recent attempt to just try everything that can help I wanted a daith piercing. I stopped in here to see how much it would cost and when I could set an appointment up. I wanted to do it while I was in the shop, but I was told I couldn't. The guy up front was nice enough. He explained only one person did them and to call her to set up the appointment. He gave me her card and that was that. I walked out and immediately tried to call the number to set something up, the woman on the other end said hello and when I started to talk the line went dead. I tried to reach out a few more times by calling and never got a response. Needless to say, I didn't get a piercing here and they missed out on some business. This review might seem a little off, but I still feel like I should give it five stars. I never ended up getting my tattoo. But not for lack of trying. I am allergic to most heavy metals (Platinum is the only metal I can wear without getting hives) and I was concerned about the metal in inks. I know red ink is off limits, but others could or could not have metal. So, I talked to Michael, and told him the problem. I originally went in with the idea of getting a small dot to do my own little spot test, but he 1) didn't want to risk making my arm break out from a single dot, and 2) didn't feel right about charging me the base cost just for said dot. So instead, I put down a deposit, and he contacted the ink company to see if they would tell him their ingredients. Fast forward several weeks, still no word. So he contacted again. Still nothing for several weeks. After a few months, he messaged me to say that he wasn't willing to do the tattoo, and that we could keep waiting, or I could come get my deposit back. So, I never got my tattoo. But from the experience I had, if anyone wants one, I will easily recommend they come here. Their care of clientele is impressive, and appreciated! Read Less

I went here a couple of weeks ago to get my helix and doubles pierced.The guy who did it was VERY nice and made sure I was ready before doing each one, which was nice considering I was pretty terrified. Plus, since I got all three at once, the price was only $100, which seems quite fair for a professional place. The problems started occurring a few days after... the ear with my helix got very very red and swollen and I had to take the backs off and replace them with smaller ones because it felt like my earlobe was going to explode. I texted the owner, Michelle, and she was helpful and seemed genuinely concerned for awhile... until she stopped responding to my texts. I tried ibuprofen and luckily the swelling went down and they seemed okay, a little dry but not too bad. Cut to now, where the earrings have rusted and are turning my ears green underneath. Not sure what metal they are but I'm pretty disappointed and pretty sure that that's why my ears were reacting so poorly! Read Less

Going into a tattoo studio can be intimidating for someone who has never had a tattoo or unique piercing.  My daughter and I went in to have our ears pierced and Noah did a fantastic job making both of us feel comfortable and confident!  He was also very precise with his work.  He made sure we were happy with the results and gave us care directions that were thorough.We had a great mother/daughter experience and would totally   recommend this shop and Noah!! 6 of us wanted to get tattoos to commemorate our grandma who recently passed away. Michael Hockman worked with all 6 of us to ensure he was capturing exactly what we wanted. His attention to detail was phenomenal. We came in today 6-7 people deep and he made the experience special for each of us and understood what this meant to our family. His tattoo shading was beautiful and he helped us think through the placement and sizing for those that weren’t sure about where to get them. He was so professional and prepared and took time to talk through the care and what to expect for the next few weeks. I had written a review about a past employee a few months back. I had gone in for my first tattoo and honestly it was just a bad experience. But let me make it clear! That employee is no longer there. I think if the owner had been there the day I had stopped in this incident would have never happened! Adam read the review and when my friend called to talk to him he answered immediately and offered me two free tattoos for the incident. He was fantastic. I don’t have a lot of tattoos and I’m not sure if different artists can make it hurt less? 🤷‍♀️ But he did. It was perfect and his hands were so steady. I would recommend this shop to anyone! My experience with Michael at Carmel ink tattoo was absolutely awesome. I went in for a consultation and he was so kind and knowledgeable and helped me with the final details, so I set up an appointment. When I went back to get my tattoo he was so nice and made me feel very comfortable. We did some final tweaking on the design prior to him starting. It was fun and painless. Michael Hockman is amazing! He redid some old ink I had done when I was 18, that I never truly fell in love with until now! I didn't want to cover it up, because it still meant something and he made me see that it could be fixed and did just that. He is very talented and easy to talk too and if I had to rate his customer service it too would be 5 stars! Top Notch! I went here to get a small star constellation tattoo and they overcharged me as well as did a horrible job on the tattoo. The lines were crooked and the "stars" looked like blobs. I felt there was little I could do to change them, but then I found Carmel Tattoo Ink. All of their artists are just that 'artist’; it was hard to choose which one I wanted to fix my tattoos. He was so good I even had him create a new piece which happens to be my favorite tattoo out of all! My artist was phong and he did a really incredible job on my tattoo but also made some adjustments to the design at the beginning that made the tattoo look much better. Walked in today around one in the afternoon to see if it were possible to get an appointment. The lady at the desk, I unfortunately did not catch her name, was very welcoming and helpful. I gave a photo of the word I wanted on my forearm over to the tattoo artist Phong Ho. He laid out the stencil and made my first tattoo beyond incredible and exceeded all expectations that I could've had for my first tattoo. Went there almost a week ago for a forearm tattoo. When I called and spoke with Justin, he was very nice and they were able to get me in that night. My appointment was with Adam. When I first arrived, the space was nice, welcoming and had an old school or traditional tattoo parlor feel to it! It's clean, organized, and inviting! In no time at all Adam had my tattoo drawn up and within an hour I was done! It wasn't a small or simple piece either. Their attention to detail and the way Adam kept asking me if it's what I wanted...is it the right size? Do you like the placement? His honesty was greatly appreciated when he recommended a part of the tattoo be bigger so it didn't look awkward. Saying I really enjoyed my experience and love this place is an understatement. So the man working there literally told me "nobody goes to brazil for boob jobs", WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE. unprofessional business.. They cuss like a sailors and have no regard for anybody else's thoughts. There are SO MANY other tattoo parlors in Hamilton County, I wouldn't even waste my time here. There so called starting price is $80 for a TINY little tattoo. Are you kidding me ? Go to Mystic Images in Noblesville they will for sure provide you with a better and more educated experience. So I had gone into Carmel Ink for a regular rook piercing. Michelle did it, she's done most of my piercings, and it went smoothly. Six weeks later I went back in to have it changed. When I called to make the appointment, a guy answered the phone and assured me he could change the piercing for me no problem. I go in and the piercer is obviously not qualified. He has since been fired. He couldn't get the earring in that I wanted so we put in a different ring. Later I find out that it was the wrong size. After crying and saying a few curse words he told me that he "had never pierced one before and only changed this piercing once". I was livid. I informed Michelle who told me she would fix my piercing for free. A few months go by and finally I have the time to text her. She responds saying she has the flu and will get back to me when she's better. 3 weeks go by and I finally text her. No response. I text her later that week. No response. I am very disappointed and angry that I can't even get my money's worth out of this piercing. I have since gone to Indy Tattoo Company. They were amazing. A man there informed me that Michelle never does anything unless money is involved. So if you have a botched piercing, better find a new parlor. Read Less

My son and I had a family bonding of getting tattooed from Adam on Saturday. I must say I was extremely nervous and I'm terrified of needles. Adam made our experience amazing by keeping me calm, he joined in our conversation, we laughed and the music was great too. Kudos to Adam for tolerating my nervousness and the fact hat I kept tensing up my hand making his job much harder, he was very patient with me. The shop was very clean and displayed a lot of beautiful tattoo artist designs, all the staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. These were our first tattoos and I'm sure they won't be the last, we will be back Carmel Ink. I've had friends get tattoos here that are awesome but I would NEVER recommend ANYONE come here for a piercing. I'm hoping mine is a freak experience but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I went to Carmel Tattoo to get my daith pierced. The piercer who did it the first time did not put it in the right spot - it was way too shallow. I came in the next day and had the owner of the store take a look at it. She agreed it was too shallow and informed me mistakes happen and that the guy who pierced me (incorrectly!) the day before had been off work for a year due to a bad accident and was out of practice (great!). Owner convinced me to allow her to re-do the piercing, assuring me she'd done tons of them and would get it done right. Insert WORST experience of my life right here. She first had a hard time with the clamp. Then, her gloves kept getting stuck on the needle which she would yank around to unstick which hurt like all hell. Once the needle is through they put some sort of cork on one end which she also had trouble with and pushed and pulled (OUCH!!!!) to get it on. I nearly fainted from the pain. She put the jewelry in with no issue but could not get it closed appropriately and just left it that way. This bled SO MUCH. I couldn't figure out why since the day before with my incorrect piercing there was nearly no blood. I met my husband after the piercing and he took a picture of my ear to show me (pic above in photo album) and I saw that SHE CUT ME!!!! Lord knows how but the OWNER of the store CUT my earlobe!!! No wonder there was so much blood and an extra amount of pain!!! The picture I added was from today AFTER my husband tried to clean the wound. Seriously GO ANYWHERE ELSE to get your piercings. Great experience with the staff via phone and via email. I was able to schedule my appt a few days ahead of time which is very convenient. I did have to wait 15 min or so past my appt time because someone else was finishing theirs but realistically no one wants their tattoos rushed so I didn't mind. The shop is clean, a little on the small side, but in a nice part of town. My tattoo was small and had straight lines- hard for any artist. I was very happy with how it turned out! Today I went here to get a few piercings. I was very impressed by the cleanliness, atmosphere and the friendly + helpful staff. Michelle was very professional and did my piercings quickly and with little pain. While helping me find a specific place for them she brought up a lot of considerations I wouldn't have thought of. She also directed me in how to clean them and take care of the, gave me her phone number if I ever had any problems with them. If/when I'm going to get more peircings or even a tattoo I would certainly go here. I had a great experience and will recommend this place to friends. They also had a huge range of hardware. I just went in for a cartilage piercing change out and the owner, Michelle, was great! Very friendly and fast service. They jewelry is not expensive but still great quality. The station was clean and she walked me through every step, which was nice considering it was still a little painful. She suggested I get some Tea Tree Oil to soak my ear to help with the swelling. The place I got my tat was on 41 N Post Rd. This was my first tattoo and I went in expecting it to be extremely painful. The artist was very quick, precise, and did not cause any uneeded pain. My artist was also very personable and assured me I'd be fine. He also took breaks that allowed my body not to feel irritated while getting this tattoo.
