When we first walked in we were greeted by a a nice gentleman right away, and the place was very clean. The tattoo artist was busy with a client so we were told he would be right with us. Understandable since we were a walk in. Once we met the artist I was a little put off. He wasn't very friendly and just couldn't seem to grasp the idea of what we were wanting although it was very simple. Once we finally got what we wanted squared away and went back to get the work done his ...attitude didn't get much better. It was my daughter's first tattoo and I knew she really wanted to get it done that night or I would have walked out. His space was clean the work he did was fine, but he wasn't a pleasant person at all. Just really short and matter of fact. Kinda rude at times. Everyone else we encountered was very friendly. I also felt like we were way over charged. $100 for 2 tattoos that took him 2 minutes each seemed a bit much. Maybe that wouldn't have bothered me as much had the experience not been so crappy. I went in for a cover-up tattoo last month and talked to Corey B. He said he could perform the cover-up with no problems. I expressed my concerns with the amount of white ink he was using because I thought it would turn yellow, but he assured me it wouldn't. He was also very heavy handed. A month and a half later, I have several areas of scar tissue and guess what?... my tattoo is turning yellow. I'm sure that he has had tattoos to turn out good, but with so many talented tattoo artists and shops available, why risk it? The owners offered to go over the tattoo again, but it would be darker. They stated several times that every artist in their shop is technically a sub-contractor and they are not responsible for them. They also support their entire argument with the possibility of improper aftercare. This is my 17th tattoo and I've NEVER had these problems before. Read Less

I have had 2 of my 5 tats done at the W. Washington Street one. The first one I had done was amazing and I really loved the artist. The second time I went, the previous artist I had moved to the Avon one. I was with a group of people and we decided to stay at the washington street one. The artist I had was awful. He was rude and very antisocial. When he did mine, he pushed way to hard on my chest, was digging the needle in, and was just very rude. I had told him what I wanted done and he had to ask me when he was in the middle of doing my tattoo if he could add color, which I had already said I wanted before he started. The North location is the best! Their space is private. They like what they do and they are friendly. No hassles. Forget the Noblesville location. Completely different set of rules. Don't follow posted business hours. (Open until 10:00pm but when you arrive at 8:45pm you will be told winter hours are until 9:00pm and they need more than 15 minutes to pierce your ear). Yup, they rudely turn away 2 customers and required additional documentation which they tell you only after you arrive. Read Less

i've been here twice, as a walk in. theyre always so friendly and wonderful. all the artist do amazing work and can do such a wide range of art. every piece is a masterpiece. plus they sold me an awesome naval ring that never falls out/apart. I have received a tattoo @ the south side location in the past. While not overly impressed with the service, the work itself was good enough that when getting my second tattoo, I went to the same name if not the same location. We were ignored for about 20 minutes by the staff. When someone did speak to us, he was dismissive and had little information regarding the pricing or artists availability. While I understand the fluid nature of the business, the first rule that should be followed in any situation where you are providing a service dependent on your reputation, is to at least offer information if you cannot meet the customer expectations. We were told no appts were made over weekends, and to arrive at open to receive first come/first service the following day. We arrived before the door opened only to see several staff members arrive late, then told they were 'all booked up with appts' and to come back several hours later to 'see if anyone would be available'. No offer of an appt, no explanation as to why other appts were made when service is 'first come/first serve', nothing except sitting and waiting for other artists to arrive, then ignore us. Needless to say, we left. I will not offer my money to those who are not willing to earn it by treating me with the respect any customer deserves. I found another shop willing to work with us at half the quoted price and infinite more courtesy and service. I would suggest to anyone looking for a good experience go elsewhere, and to find an artist willing to spend time working with you on a piece you will be wearing for the rest of your life. Body art should be respected, and be a positive experience for YOU and not viewed as an inconvience by your artist. Don't let yourself feel as if you are being held hostage by artists and studios such as this that are being crushed by thier own egos and couldn't care less about your individual experience. I have received 1 large pit bull portrait and my wifes name and my wife has got one on her wrist and my step daughter has got one on her belly and one across her foot and they have all been done by FREAK from the west washington st shop i have a few more in mind and im turning anybody who ask to go to him, he has some fine work and i plan on giving him all my work and anybody else i can turn on to him,the store is clean and all the work i have seen in there and come out of there has been top notch ,that is a great group of guys over there and i would recommend them to everyone. i went to artistic on washington for my other piercing & tried this location for something different. i felt welcomed & comfortable at first, but chad, the piercer, wasn't friendly at all and barely spoke two words the whole time. he also ""doesn't do"" stamps, so don't go there for that either. will definitely go back to matt at the washington st. location next time. I just came back from getting a tattoo here after reading about the police badge tattoo. Man, these guys are GOOD!! I walked in with no appointment and they took me right in. I told them what I wanted and they drew it right in front of me. I've got 4 tattoos and this is the best one I've ever seen because of the detail and the tattoo cost me less than the one I got 3 years ago!! Monte and Casey are the best there. I ran into a bind because I had gone to another shop to have them design a tattoo for my husband?s birthday. The other tattoo shop took my money, but never delivered on a design. :( A friend told me about this place and I went and it was AMAZING!! The work they did on my husband?s tattoo is phenomenal!! It looks like someone stuck a police badge on his skin. He got two police badges and a flag tattooed on his arm. It?s freaky how real it looks. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop!!!!!!! Casey also does work on some very famous people. Ask him, he will tell you. :) Their walls are covered in awards for their work and the place was VERY clean.
