I followed Antonio here from Funky Rooster, because he does amazing work. He is very talented. Reasonably priced. Great attitude. Anyway the funny thing is, back in the day this was Doc Finn's, who did my first tattoo. Doc did a few of them, he then passed away sadly. Then Auggie took this place over and it was Auggie's Place, Auggie retired and now well here I am back again with another amazing tattoo artist.I hope it sticks around because it's nice to be back home in a way , where it all started. :) Read Less

I can personally vouch for the sterility and cleanliness of the shop as I used to work here as a body piercer they have done above and beyond to bring this business from the grave because the previous owners were not doing good. I had a tattoo done at a place called color theory, where the artists are supposedly "Amazing"....long story short, the artist butchered my tattoo, so 2 months later i figured, "hey, lets go to this place called black rose, it's only a 10 minute drive from my house (most people travel far out of their way for their ink)". Chris Lawrence was able to turn a butchered tattoo from about a 5, to a 9 out of 10. obviously, you can only do so much with a piece that had already but botched beyond oblivion, but the way he was able to fix the errors made in my first tattoo was incredible! And he did it cheaper then the other place i went to. 100$ an hour, for a pretty good artist in your local area, you can't beat it. We're talking CROOKED trees originally, that he managed to straighten out the best it can be straightened. Chris Lawrence saved my tattoo, and he was also enthusiastic about doing it. I recently just got my second tattoo, it was an actual stamp of my dogs foot, she isn't dead but I love her so much I'm willing to put her on my body. Chris Lawrence did my tattoo for me, I will say I was very nervous because it was going to be on the back of my neck. (The first one I got was an elephant on my ankle and I wanted to cry) coming into this I thought it would hurt just as much as my first one. It wasn't as painful as I thought it was going to be and I'm so happy with it. Chris did an amazing job and I'm truly in love with it. So, heads up guys. Joey Sherman is moved back here and straight up killing the game. Let me just say, I am VERY picky about my tattoos. (I've been burned before) so it's very nerve wrecking for me to step in a shop and get something new. Joey is extremely professional and understanding and has fixed just about all my past horror stories. His artistic mind just blows me away. Like, I don't even have to come in with pictures, I just give him an idea and he runs with it and KILLS it beyond what I've ever imagined. I live in Houston, Texas and his tattoos are the ones everyone asks about. So he has a huge following of people down here just dying waiting for him to come down and guest spot. You won't get any better quality professional work for his reasonable prices, believe me.
