The worst business of any kind that I've ever stepped foot in. The dude behind the desk was a complete psycho, seemed like a sketchy drug addict or something. I asked about a piece of jewelry and didn't know the exact size I needed, then he went crazy because I was looking at the wrong piece of jewelry in the display case. He told me the one with the blue flower was the one I was looking for, I was confused because the piece of jewelry with the blue flower was not the correct piece of jewelry I was looking for. I guess he was talking about a flower petal that was a weird shade of green, it wasn't even blue. So it was somehow my fault that he wasn't specific enough. He then got unnecessarily and unbelievably aggressive for no reason. He thinks he's a tough guy but he's obviously just a fat unhappy loser that takes his anger out over his shit hole failing business on potential customers. No wonder this place is the laughing stock of somonauk hahaha. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I don't even know how he affords to keep the place open as there's never anyone there. Stay far, far away. I would rate negative stars if I could. Read Less

Doesn't even deserve one star. I was looking for a new earring and I touched the one in my ear that I wanted to replace.  He then very rudely yelled at me to stop touching my ear before I contaminate his whole store. (It to s heaped and healthy)I then told him never mind and turned around to walk away. He then yelled at me for being rude. I told him he was rude to the lady in front of me and he's being rude to me now I'll take my business elsewhere. He proceeded to follow me to my car. Where the boys were. He yelled at me calling me a f*****g, b***h,  c**t, and a w**re. He got right in my face in the middle the road where I was parked and gave me the finger and told me to f**k off.  He finally went back in calling me every name in the book on his way. This place is ok. They need another tattoo artist that actually can do good quality work. The staff is not very friendly... but most tattoo shops I've been in the staff in all of them seem to just be rude or too good for your business. I would probably never get any tattoos done here until they get a talented artist in there. Read Less

I know the owner, Nick, all too well. Reading the other review... He is very protective of his business and takes great pride in his work. He's not willing to lose it because someone that's drunk comes in and wants a tattoo.  It's not worth him losing his license. His shop is clean, orderly and comfortable.  He's one of the most responsible people I know when it comes to business. I've gotten 7 piercings here, all from Bert. With every piercing, Bert has been efficient and professional. The shop is super clean and I every piercing I've gotten (ranging from as painless as my cartilage to as painful as my nipples) has healed perfectly. If you're in the Somonauk area, this place is solid and definitely worth checking out, just be sure to bring cash, as they do not accept card! Read Less

So, this place defiantly just lost a customer today and good business. I will never recommend this place to a friend ever again. Even though I've sent countless of people to this shop. Besides your price, your jewelry is cheap, it turns green and grows mold every time I wear it. The owner I'm assuming or who ever does the piercings is rude every time I go in there. I've gotten two piercings here so far and they both were very painful and he was very rough, besides being slightly crooked. Then, after I still proceed to give this place a chance. I have my boyfriend drive almost 1 hour and 20-30 mins away to this shop, just so I can get a piercing for National Piercing Day, to be turned away for getting there almost 15 mins before they closed. I would of understand if when I called, after the third time you said I'm not taking anyone. But the owner, again assuming said as long as I got there before 9:45 that he'd pierce me. I told you how far I traveled just to get there. And you still turned me away, that's almost cruel. Piercings are an obsession and love of mine and it just sucks that I have to lose out going to what could be a potentially awesome place. But I've honestly gotten pierced better from people in their basements. So not like you care, but you won't be seeing me anymore. It's mediocre. And like I said besides the price, it's not worth it. Nice people and good work. The piercings are always well done, the tattoos on the other hand is okay and standard prices. If you're looking for a touch up, first tattoo or anything up that ally great artist. If you'd like a bigger more time consuming tattoo, make an appointment, give him time. Between my family and I, we used to get a LOT of tattoos from here. Since the good tattoo artists left, this place has dropped its standards. The customer service this place gives is AWFUL! One incident, they had me drive an hour and a half for my tattoo APPOINTMENT to decline me because he wasn't prepared for the workload. This time I provided a simple drawing and they stated I would have to drive an hour and a half to make a deposit, just to come in another day to get it done. when I explained the bullshit I have already gone through with them, they said I could go somewhere else with a 👍🏻 Spend your money on a place that will be honored to do their artwork on you.
