I am honestly just so disappointed with the work that the piercer, Grace did for me. I went in to get a septum piercing because I had wanted one for years. I lay down on her table, she gets everything ready, and she pierces me with a needle. My dad was there and said he heard a nasty crack. I didn't think anything of it. So she pulled the needle out, and went to put the ring in (apparently theres a way that the ring is supposed to go in with the needle, but no, I got mine done wrong). But she couldn't get it through. So she sat there for over 15 minutes with a finger jammed up each nostril "massaging" it through while I couldn't breathe because my nose is blocked. She finally gets it through and I get my paper work and my after care instructions and all that. Then she charged me $20 more than 3 people on the staff quoted me. I also saw the septum piercing prices posted all over the shop, and I was ripped off, big time. I didn't say anything because I'm a wimp and I just wanted to leave. As it's healing, I notice a few things. There's the tell tale bump on either side of the piercing, which means the piercing went through cartilage (septum piercings are NOT supposed to go through cartilage) and the piercing is at least half an inch farther into my nose than it should be. The crack my dad heard was from the cartilage. The piercing was also crooked. I'm just so sad and disappointed because I've been with this piercing waiting for it to get better for two whole months now and I feel like I've wasted a lot of time. I was also over charged and now I'll have to take the ring out, wait months for it to heal and pay to have someone else do it right. I feel like I've been ripped off and duped. Ive already wasted so much time and money on this. Please do not get piercings here. Please do your research and choose a better spot. Read Less

This place is AMAZING!!! If you are looking for an awesome tattoo at a fair price you can not go wrong with Meridian line Tattoo. I have been going here for 15 years and have had multiple tattoos done with them. I would strongly recommend Darrell the main tattoo artist. Love love love this place. It's been years since I've gotten ink in Chicago, and having moved back to the area just over a year ago I've been itching to get something new. Blair was great, extremely light hand and banged it out quick. Darrell (owner) and Blair are nice and laid back, no up selling here. BTW Blair also fixed up a cartilage piercing (gone wrong) for me in 10 minutes and charged me 10 bucks including the jewelry. I didn't have a problem with the service or anything, but I did have a problem with the misspelled tattoo! Considering I wrote it out before hand, and he supposedly mocked it up properly before hand, I couldn't believe my tattoo had a typo! (Yes, I did check the stencil.)I can only assume that part of the stencil rubbed off while he was working, thanks to all the Vaseline. Yet, he apparently didn't bother to check the proper spelling before continuing on. The artist had no problem correcting the misspelling after I saw it, but it totally takes away from the look. As the corrected letters are not in the same font, it just doesn't... flow very well.It's so disappointing that I plan to cover it with something else, once I decide on what. For that, I will definitely be going to a different shop! Read Less

Bob and Darrell are great artists!I've been tattooed by them plenty of times. Darrell did my first tattoo 9 years ago, so I have him to thank for my addiction. He is a great tribal and portrait artist. He has an amazing light hand almost can't even feel the pain. I almost feel asleep during my last tattoo session. Bob is great with color and pinups. Last I saw him I explained what I wanted and he said got it and threw it on paper within a few minutes. My entire family and friends go here, so believe me if I would recommend it to my family I would definately recommend it to everyone. Very clean atmosphere and the guys make you feel at home total gentlemen when there are ladies around and after all you need to be comfortable with someone who is working on something that you are going to have forever. They are great on prices unlike other shops that I've walked out from when they tell me the prices. Read Less

Just go, he's great.Recently I got a new tattoo from Darrell and it came out amazingly well.  What I think separates Darrell is that he really thought about how to work with the design, and sort of "got" me.  He had some suggestions that turned out well, and ones that I would not have thought of on my own.
