I visited this shop a few days ago and was very impressed. After doing my research on various tattoo shops and visiting them this one definitely stuck out the most. It's clean, in a great location, and the staff is very professional and well educated in their field. Being that it was going to be my first tattoo of many more to come I had to make sure I chose wisely and I definitely did!! I came to Artistic Theories to get a new tattoo. My last one was 20 years ago and things have changed but what has not are great artists who really have a passion for what they create while working with people who may or may not have a good idea but still want something that is special/unique. A.T. is a great place where both idea and living art come together. My Artist was the owner and he is so cool very personal and professional and even humble about his work (which is awesome btw👍🙌) and the shop is more of a gallery the typical ink place. Cool art work on the walls from local artists give off great vibes you can tell everyone there takes pride making sure you have a great experience. Very talented artists who explain everythig as they go along. My artist, A.P., seemed to know exactly when I wanted to be quiet and wanted to talk. We walked in late on a Friday night, they seemed to be at the point where any business is cleaning up and getting ready to close, but they took me as a walk-in anyway. Skin is a bit more of a challenge to tattoo as it gets older, but A.P. talked to me about that and seemed to adjust his technique to accommodate my skin. Very nice ...guys, my artist called my husband "sir". I'm not surprised because it's a tattoo studio, but because very few people do that any more. My son and daughter-in-law have both gotten beautiful work done there which is why I went. My experience was so positive I'd never go anywhere else now. Went in last week and was instantly drawn in. They were able to fit me in as a walk in. AP was very friendly and made sure that I was comfortable and very informative. I am extremely satisfied with my visit! AP gave me exactly what I asked for, and I couldn't be happier! When I had a question, he answered it honestly and tried to be as helpful as possible. Went in to get matching tattoos with my sister. We wanted script with a watercolor background. The tattoo artist seemed to be in a bad mood and was upset when we didn't take the first design he brought out to us. I told him exactly what I wanted and asked him to make adjustments. The tattoo turned out blurry, blotchy and it looks like it was done by a 12-year-old. They way over-charged for the poor work that was done, which is really upsetting because I've seen the work he's done online and he's a fantastic artist so I don't understand why ours turned out so poorly. Owner Slap is an amazing and talented artist. He makes you feel so welcome and it's a nice feeling to never feel awkward in his shop. His artwork is what brings my fiancé back and only gets tattooed by him for the last several years. She has maybe 9 done by him and plans on more. He will never rush to get a tattoo done and he wants the piece to be perfect, something that not every tattoo artist does with his level of pride. I followed the principal artist, Slap, from his previous studio and I can't recommend AT enough.The studio & gallery are comfortable and they do a great job discussing what you want your piece to be, advising on best location, and then doing a superlative job in executing the vision.Yes, it hurts.
