You have to go here! Tattoos or piercings give this place a try. I was looking for a local shop to get a tattoo at. Based on the stellar Yelp reviews I ended up choosing this place. I ended up contacting the owner, Danielle via the Yelp page in order to check availability. My original time table was not very flexible for them but as I opened up more of a window, so did they. Throughout Danielle advised that I call the shop, when I finally did they had a perfect time slot for me. I went in on Wednesday to get a small tattoo done. I actually sent the image prior in the Yelp conversation with details, and they pretty much had everything ready when I got there. Tina did the tattoo. She was really awesome and understanding (even though I kept nervously babbling because it had been 10 years since I got my last one). The lines were extremely crisp and bold. I got a tattoo from a place in Addison 15 years ago. It was crappy from the moment I got it but I just dealt with it. I have a week off between jobs so I decided now is the time to get it touched up. I called beforehand and they said they do take walk ins so I took a gamble. The guy who tattooed me (I'm a jerk but I don't remember his name) was awesome! I actually found this place on yelp because of the great reviews, I'm not from the area but the ratings compared to places where I'm from made it worth while. Originally I was just planning to walk in, but an appointment was required. The quality of their work puts them at high demand. Trust me it's worth it. I showed Tina my references photos and when she showed what she had drawn up, I fell in love with the design. It was exactly what I wanted. Through out the tattoo everything was very professional, friendly and most importantly clean. Someone once told me you can tell how much an establishment really cares by how clean their bathroom is. I came in early May to get my daith pierced. I've since gotten four upper lobe piercings (two in each ear) and a helix done, all by Danielle, who's approachable and kind. She takes the time to answer all questions thoroughly in a manner that's accessible, but not condescending. The jewelry she uses is also fantastic. It's cute and affordable, but doesn't upset my sensitive, nickel-allergic skin. Go ahead and buy the aftercare product she sells. It's affordable and works like a dream.The shop itself is always very clean and the staff are all warm and welcoming. I had one of those terribly emotionally draining weeks so on the morning of February 23rd, 2018 I woke up craving the pain of a new piercing. I texted my friend from work and ask if she'd want to join me in my quest for a little after work pain. (If you haven't figured it out yet I'm a bit addicted to the physical pain that is accompanied by body piercings). My friend said OK let me see how the day goes. Well at around 4:45 that afternoon she was at my desk ready to go. We didn't have a plan in place so while I packed up she went in the hall and searched on her phone for a nearby piercing studio. She found online a place called Lake Street Tattoo and Piercing in Mundelein, IL. So we got in my car and with a little help from our friend, Siri, made our way over there. Since I'd never been I was a bit nervous as to what to expect. All my nerves were put to ease the moment we met Danielle, the piercer. We came to find that Danielle is incredibly talented at what she does and is very knowledgeable. Her studio is impeccably clean and her sterilization process is extremely thorough, like no other I've ever seen before. Also she measures your ears, with this ear measuring tool, to ensure she chooses the right jewelry size for your ears. The jewelry she carries is nicely displayed in a lovely lighted glass case; the jewelry is high quality and definitely well worth the price. When we arrived I really had no clue what I wanted, I just knew I wanted something. Danielle carefully studied my existing piercings and the anatomy of my ear and thought a 2nd conch piercing just above my existing conch, which was in the bowl of my ear, would be lovely. I chose the most beautiful champagne colored Swarovski for the fresh conch piercing and had Danielle switch my existing jewelry in my healed conch (not pierced by her); for my healed conch I chose a seamless silver hoop. The two options most definitely paired together perfectly!As we were finalizing our transactions I literally could not stop gushing over Danielle, she is an ear artist and I trust her 100% to decide how the piercings on "my canvas" aka my ears should be laid out! Since our first visit on, February 23rd, 2018, my friend and I have  recently returned to have more piercing fun with Danielle! My ears are looking quite attractive now, with the new piercings and the stunning new jewelry that I've chosen for both my new and existing piercings. I couldn't have done it without Danielle! I'd also like to add the healing process for the piercings by Danielle, has been a much more pleasant one than any other piercings I've ever had. I attribute this to Danielle's tremendous piercing abilities along with the high quality  jewelry she carries. I came in as a walk-in for both a tragus piercing and a small tattoo on my upper back and all I can say is this was the best experience I could've asked for regarding that this was my first tattoo. First of all everyone at Lake St. is incredibly helpful, friendly, and the shop is always super clean; which is a combo that's hard to find. So far I've had 2 piercings done by Danielle and she's been outstanding! I initially came in and wasn't too sure what I wanted to get done and she was so patient and really took the time to give me unique recommendations that I couldn't have thought of myself. I just got my third piece done by Alex. The first one he did he took a cherry blossom Branch off a pewter platter that I inherited and was passed down through three generations. We did the outline first and then I got cancer so I waited to fill it in with color and I fell in love with it with the black so we're going to just shade it in the future. The second piece was a bee stinging me on one of my scars and the best piece of all is what I just had done. I gave him some Wild...flower identification books that used to belong to my grandmother and told him to make a bouquet and then tie them together with a breast cancer awareness ribbon. The work is clean sharp and beautiful he's an amazing artist. The shop is always immaculate.
