So, let's go back to the beginning. A few years ago, I wanted to get my septum pierced. But at that time, it wasn't really logical and didn't really fit my "style" then. Flash forward to these past few weeks, it's been ringing in my head again to get it done. I talked about how I was thinking about getting it for about a month now and finally a few days ago, I turned to my friend and said, "Let's go do this". So we did.We called ahead to see if I had to make an appointment and lucky for me I did not. So we made our way over there and I filled out the necessary paper work and not 5 minutes later she told me to come back so we could pierce it...I was trying not the think about it. I've already gotten 5 tattoos, 4 lobe piercings, my tragus, and my nostril done so I was trying to tell myself it would be nothing. Well, I was sitting in the chair slowly but surely getting more and more nervous. She said 1, 2, 3 and the initial needle went through. Not a big deal at all. I was perfectly fine! But then I opened my eyes and they were watering of course. After this, she needs to put the jewelry in. In order to so, the jewelry is attached to another needle which will follow the initial needle through the hole. This is the part that got me. Idk if this is true, but I feel as if the needle to put the jewelry in was thicker than the piercing needle. Putting the jewelry in hurt so much worse than the actual piercing and after the jewelry is in an it's all good, it suddenly isn't. My hearing went fuzzy and so did my vision. My heart started racing and I started sweating. I asked those in the room with me to quiet down cause I was freaking out. They put a fan on me and in about a minute or two I was back to normal. My piercer explained to me that it happens and it does so because my blood-sugar levels plummet after that process. Afterwards, it's been all good. I was sore for a few days as expected but it's not really giving me many problems. The only thing was that I had it flipped into my nose to hide and I woke up in the morning and one of the balls was gone! So I don't know if I swallowed it or if it just felt out. Either way, Ink Town was super cool about giving me a new ball for the end of it and now it's back to normal.Loving the piercing, and my experience here was great. Definitely would recommend! :) Read Less

I am not the type to write a negative review. However, I am giving this two stars for two reasons: mediocre work and insane prices. I brought my friend here to just get his ears pierced, plain old lobes. You can get it done for free at a place like Claires or Walmart, and I got mine done at a tattoo studio for $40. The piercer rushed the procedure, did not provide aftercare instructions, and charged my friend 80 dollars. I am not exaggerating- they charged 80 dollars for a very simple piercing, on a reasonable and friendly client. And it would be one thing if he got jewelry he liked and had great service and advice- but no. My friend was only given one option for jewelry, and the piercer kept messing up the placement which was frustrating. I was disappointed with the service and enraged at the unfair price, which they did not tell us until after the procedure. If I would have known how insanely expensive this would be, I would certainly never bring anyone here. Read Less

I really don't like writing bad reviews, but I feel like something needs to be said. If they don't realize what they're doing wrong, they can't fix it, right??I've been to Ink Town twice. The first time, I got a Monroe piercing. I had a wonderful experience and was more than happy with the finished product. I came in, got seated right away, and the piercer marked where the piercing was going to go. He had me check it out in the mirror, and I liked the placement. He clamped my lip, put the needle through, and followed through with the jewelry. It was pretty painful but he made sure I was OK afterward. I guess I looked like I was going to pass out, so he laid the chair back and told me to take a couple deep breaths. After that, I was fine and went on my way. This was done in 2010 and I believe it was $50 or $60, which is pretty typical for a piercing. Unfortunately the most recent experience I've had with them wasn't great. I wanted to get my first tattoos. I called Ink Town and was told that you can't make an appointment on the phone, you have to come in to make an appointment. Apparently a lot of places are like this, but I was a little annoyed because Ink Town is at least 20 minutes away from where I live, and I have been really busy lately. I stopped in anyway, and instead of being greeted, I was given a dirty look by the girl at the desk. I said "hi" and she just sat there with a bitchy look on her face. A guy came out of the back and asked me how he could help me. I told him that I wanted two wrist tattoos of my daughters' names. He told me that they were busy and I could either make an appointment for a few hours later, or call tomorrow and I would be able to make an appointment over the phone since I already came in. He said he would be on vacation but someone else could help me. I left, and called back the following day. I'm assuming the same girl that was at the desk when I came in was the one that answered the phone. Once again, she was very cold and sounded annoyed that she had to get off her ass and pick up the phone. I told her that I wanted to make an appointment, and once again she told me that I couldn't make an appointment over the phone. I told her that I had been there the day before and he said that because I had already come in, it was OK. She still (very rudely) told me that it didn't matter and I couldn't make the appointment. Her attitude really annoyed me and I ended up hanging up on her and going to Rising Phoenix Tattoo in Addison instead. I'm glad I did because they have WAY better customer service and I'm absolutely in love with my tattoos. I'm pretty positive I'll never go back to Ink Town again. Customer service is huge to me, it can make or break the entire experience in my opinion, and Ink Town completely failedMy blog: hustlababy09.blogspot.com Read Less

Really helpful, and calmed my nerves alot! the inside is really clean and you watch them clean the needles and put together the tattoo thing. Waited for alittle while as he was making the stencil and as i was filling out the release form. My tattoo looks amazing and he did an awesome job. All of the tattoo artists are good and are so nice. Couldn't ask for it any differently! I highly reccomend this place!! Even though it is a tad pricey, but in the end, totally worth it. Read Less

I think that, just like with most every shop, Inktown has a group of very talented artists who all have their own strengths and weaknesses. In all honesty, I don't know all of them by name, but I've been familiar with the location for more than a year. When I first visited, the place had a slightly different look about it, and the only two artists I was aware of were Bud and Jerry, though I don't even believe Jerry was present at the time. All I can say is, if you live relatively close, and you're thinking of visiting this shop, do it! Come with a design or idea in mind, because someone will be more than happy to listen to you, so long as you're willing to listen to their own ideas. If you don't know if your idea will translate well into a tattoo, don't be afraid to say so; I went in with a jumble of nervous words and returned a week later to find exactly (and more than) what I'd been imagining when I'd left.Definitely don't be afraid to trust any one of these artists - if there's something you don't like about the design they show you, they're not going to break down and cry if you ask them to change it a little. Communication is extremely important.Ask them what they like doing most, if you can see their portfolios, etc. Be inquisitive, but also be respectful. Just because one person might tattoo more in one certain style doesn't mean they aren't capable of another.I do agree that they tend to chatter a lot in their break/drawing room when they're shrinking down the stencils, or adding something extra to a drawing, but I honestly can't imagine having a job drawing on people with needles. I would probably be doing worse in the break/drawing room, like snorting Xanax or doing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy worksheets in between tattoos. Read Less

I've been going to this shop for years now. I used to go to Rising Phoenix but after being rudely treated a couple times I was directed over to this shop n will never go anywhere else for anything significant. Jerry used to apprentice, I believe, at RP but moved over to this shop so I was excited to c him over here the first time I went bc he drew up a previous tat I got. Ive since gotten 3 tattoos from this shop (2 from Jerry personally) and I'm nothing short of explicitly satisfied w them. More recently I got a microdermal on my chest done by Jerry. It went quick n he did an excellent job. The stud fell out today, tho, n panicked I called the shop n shot over there real quick. Unfortunately, I dont know the guy's name but I believe he's the apprentice. He got the stud back in n tightened up. Everyone that works at this shop is amazing. They're professional, personable, n accommodating (and the couple I've dealt w directly...not bad to look at either...lol). I've heard complaints about them being over-priced but I've always gotten great pricing. For the quality of work, I'd pay much more. I've also referred friends to this shop n none of them have had a single complaint. I will continue to go back here as long as their doors are open. They're beyond excellent at what they do.

Went there this morning to get my first tatoo, I had danny ponce as my tattoo artist. He was so willing to make sure the font was right and the size was right. The people in there couldn't be nicer.

Read Less

I ended up being able to come in the following day and saw Jerry. He was very nice and did a great job on my tattoo, and was very time efficient. As for the price i thought it was reasonable, a bit pricey but i do get a free touch up, and if you think about it, you get what you pay for.Although this was my first tattoo it will not be my last, and i will return to see Jerry and would recommend him!Danny another artist, Did my moms tattoo and as well as mine it turned out great, very professional!Although my tattoo was a rough healing process i believe it is the location i got it and that the shop and the way it was done had nothing to do with it. So I recently went to Ink Town to get two new tattoos.  And let me tell you...this place is so hip and trendy and CLEAN all at the same time!!  The artists sanitize their entire work area between clients, use disposable needles (which pretty much everywhere does anyways) and were just very friendly and made you feel very comfortable while getting your tattoos!  They take walk-ins and also will pretty much draw up anything you would want on your body!!  A must try for anyone interested in getting a tattoo!  **My tattoo artists were Luke and Bud...just an FYI!
