Explosive Ink Tattoo is committed to producing high-quality tattoos that are safe & affordable by husband-and-wife team, tattoo artist Bret and Lisa, office manager. We have been proudly serving the IL/WI Stateline since 2007.
OHSA/Bloodborne Pathogens certified yearly
State of IL Dept. of Public Health licensed yearly
Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited since 2017
We ask for you to schedule a free consultation to go over the tattoo details, location and size. At that time, we can estimate the time it will take to complete & estimate the price. Seeing the tattoo location in person and being able to discuss the details helps Bret create the design.
Tattoo pricing is based on the time it takes to finish.
$125 Minimum
$125/Hour
$450 for 4 Hours
To book an appointment with Bret, a $50 Cash Deposit is due to secure your appointment. It will be deducted off your total. If for any reason you do get the tattoo, we retain the deposit.
The Deposit is Non-Refundable.
We accept cash and all major debit/credit cards for the remaining balance.

My best friend and I live 700 miles apart and very rarely get to visit one another. We have been friends for nearly 25 yrs and on this trip we had wanted to get tattoos to signify our bond. We had heard about Brett's shop from her husband as he had a beautiful sleeve done by Brett years ago. On whim we walked in and told him our idea and story. He immediately understood us and was able to make our vision a perfect reality! Thank you Brett!!!

I finally convinced my Mum to get her first tattoo ever. She was going to be moving back to her homeland of Bali, and i wanted something to always remember each other with. Why not a tattoo.
We had thought about it for some time and came up with tattoos that match up with each other whenever we would hug.
My husband knew the artist for years and by the looks of all the artwork hubby has, i figured we would go here.
He was amazing. He was quick. And he made this mother daughter tattoo very memorable. I can't wait to go back for more ink!

I never thought I would get a Tattoo, when I did I am so glad my best friend & I went to Bret at Explosive Ink! Explaining what I wanted and seeing his drawing of it were amazing. He captured my vision and made it better than I thought I could be. EVERYTHING WAS SO CLEAN & STERILE! Jared & Bret are Amazing Artists that I recommend to everyone talking or thinking about getting a new Tattoo!
