This is my go-to when I want to get some ink done. There are a few key differences between this place and your "traditional" tattoo shops. Which way you prefer is up to your preference. If you are thinking its one of those open floor setups where people come in and go to get there tattoos during lunch time, this place is not it. This place resembles more like a doctors' office, and its an extremely good thing. It has separate enclosed rooms and they stress safety and cleanliness. I have been talking to one of the shop workers there and they said that they no longer do the Chicagoland tattoo expos because they seen some unsanitary conditions there and practices. If you like going to the tattoo expos, more power to ya. What I'm trying to illustrate is that "Perfection Dermagraphics" value quality and cleanliness as their number one priority. And you may already realized this from the name, but they also do makeup and stuff. So if ya want your eyebrows tattooed permanently, you can do that here too.So anywho, the way it works here at least is you go in for a consultation. You bounce off ideas and/or show them a drawing/sketch that you want. They'll take the time (2weeks at least) to sketch your drawing. When they do, they'll call you (I do see a common yelp complain here that they don't get back to you as speedily as desired. I had a similar situation, but Kurt was super-cool and explained what happened). You come back, check the design and approve it once its all good, and then you schedule an actual tattoo appointment. Another thing that is "different" is that they do limit the time of a session; they do, at a max, 3-hour sessions. I hear places that do tattoos until its done, but that is not the case for this place. Not a huge deal for me, but for others, it may be.I've been going to my boy Kurt Jacobsen. He's a funny dude and very sociable when tattooing. He's been there for a bit and I love all the ink I got from him. He explains the entire process and makes extra sure you're comfortable with the entire process. More importantly, he's a cool dude. What's also cool is that they guarantee their work. If you're not happy with your tattoo for some reason, they will work with you to get it done right. I've had a tattoo (from another artist) who kind of screwed things up and they are willing to fix the tattoo for absolutely free.Overall, great experience and their quality of work is awesome.BATHROOM REVIEW: Nice and tidy, and well organized, like the rest of their office.
