My girlfriend has been regularly getting work done by Adrian, I myself recently got a piece done by Adrian also; he's damn good. Brought my vision of a Greek god like Storm trooper casting a lightning bolt, to life. The other artist there have awesome artwork also. The crew here are willing to do pretty much any piece. Their shop is clean and they are just a kickass group of people. Seriously go here if you're looking for a great convo and kickass tattoos. What a great place to get inked! This was my first tattoo in quite a few years, so I really researched and decided to try Animal Farm based on the reviews and the fantastic portfolios of all the artists there. I initially emailed them and received a response within an hour. I set up an appointment with Vince, who was simply a pleasure to work with. He was patient, professional, friendly, and really worked with me to get the perfect design I wanted, and then delivered the tattoo to perfection! I'm still amazed at how awesome this tattoo turned out! It's also a very clean shop, which is very important. It's been almost a week now, and the tattoo is healing wonderfully. It was a pleasant experience and overall had an awesome atmosphere!  Vince was the one who worked on my tattoo, he was really nice and made me feel really comfortable. I love this place! I have been to a handful of tattoo places in Logan Square and for the first time in a long time, I walked into a tattoo place and wasn't overwhelmed with the arrogance and judgement of the artist to the point where I needed to leave immediately. This place is so friendly, welcoming and just flat out hilarious. My cousin, roommate and I walked in and were immediately greeted by a totally friendly artist who took care of us right away. Between the three of us, we were there for about 3 hours and had a blast. Not to mention, we each had our work done by 3 different artist and they all came out fantastic! If you got a tattoo at any shop you'd probably give them 5 stars because you like your new ink. But it's not only about that for me, the staff here seem like they're some sort of weird, funny family and they just invited you in for their Thanksgiving pig roast. Some other parlors the artists are all stand-offish and try to maintain some level of "cool" that I really don't care to deal with. Here's you're in on whatever is going on, not left to wonder if they're talking about your stupid haircut behind your back. They also seem to really be collaborative, both with you obviously since you're the one getting work done, but will pull each other in for advice if the situation occurs where you and your artist can't decide on a detail. Give them a shot for your next piece, you won't be sorry. They have someone for every type of tattoo. They usually have someone on hand that can handle walk-ins too!Oh, and this is part of what I've been calling the "Walk Western" path - starting down at Challengers Comics (or coming off of the 606), hitting Margie's/Quesadilla/The Art of Chicken/Paladar for food, getting some work done at Animal Farm, grabbing something sweet at GBD, hunting to get a piece of your childhood back at Toy de Jour, looking for oddities at Sideshow Gallery, and ending up at Logan Arcade. Great date day all in one stretch of Western that most people miss while doing the same old Milwaukee Ave stuff. All this while getting some exercise walking Western! Read Less

I decided to randomly come get a tattoo, because man was I having a horrible day. I walked into the shop 30 min before it closed and I spoke to Vince who was super nice he gave me a quote. I walked in with an idea already in mind and Adrian tattooed me. He was super nice and helpful. The prices were very affordable for what I wanted. The shop is clean. Everything came out of a new packaging so I know I was I good hands. Adrian kept the conversation going which is just what I needed to keep my mind off the tattoo. I'm super satisfied with the tattoo, his lines were super clean and it was just what I wanted. I'm definitely coming back. This is the place and VINCE is my ARTIST!!!!!I was researching online what cover up I wanted and what artist I wanted to do it. I was recommended to go to this one guy at tattoo tatu, I loved his work but when I got there he was already with a client so he sent me to another guy who was willing to do it, except I didn't see any of his work. I showed him an idea of what I wanted and instead of him tracing mine to get an idea of what could work, he came back with a print out instead of a sketch of an ugly butterfly and tried to tell me what he could do.....yea I just was uncomfortable and scared to get shitty work done, he was a nice dude but he seemed a little lazy and he just wasn't convincing enough for me, so I left! Don't get me wrong, I like tattoo tatu I just wasn't having it that day with that one artist, I have too many tattoos not to care about what I get and I know what I want.The next day I went online researched a few more tats and read a few reviews from other shops. I emailed a couple of artists my tat and what I wanted as a cover up, some responded and some didn't, some responded me with how much it would be appose to saying, "yea we can def come up with something with your idea." That's when VINCE responded with what I wanted to hear so I chose him. I met up with him after work, he quickly traced my tattoo and came back with a sample sketch, I loved it! So he went back to finish up the sketch and I went and had a beer till he was done LOL! I came back and we got started, I loved how clean, patient, and gentle he was with me.....after a few butt clenching moments, cuz I'm so damn dramatic, my work was completed and I just LOVED IT! Both of them are top-notch artists that are receptive to your ideas and feedback while also bringing their own unique styles and directions to each piece. I came to VINCE a couple of months ago after an artist from another shop failed to deliver. I had a vague idea of what I wanted and Vince was able to put my poorly articulated ideas onto paper. Four tattoos later, and we are getting close to finishing my traditional sleeve! What I love about working with Vince is that our appointments  are a true collaboration!
